DONT WAIST YOUR MONEY!!!! We live not far from the Inn at Millrace Pond, and it was always a favorite of ours for special nights out. Well, its under new management apparently and it was one of the WORST dinner experiences weve had. The waitress was nice, but not experience and had NO idea how to do a wine tasting, and when we ordered she didnt even ask how wed like our meat cooked. The lamb came out and was literally raw. The water was never filled after the initial seating. The appetizer was barely completed when the dinners were coming out, so we felt very rushed. Rather odd since there were barely any other customers, so letting us enjoy at our leisure would have been nice. Mid-way through we wound up with a waiter assisting us, since our waitress had disappeared after taking our initial order. He was nice enough, but really odd and very loud - literally shouting at tables from across the room to ask them questions. It was incredible! In any event, I asked if their cappuccino was real (didnt want coffee with whipped cream on top that some places try to pass off). I was told it was, but when it was served the cups were barely full, so I asked why. I was told that the little powered packs they use are automatically measured. Well, then that is not REAL cappuccino! Then we order their chocolate cake special for that day, which was called Triple Chocolate Cake. What was served was a yellow cake with Hersey syrup on top - you cant make this stuff up!!! It was dry and worse them some pre-frozen wedding cakes Ive had in the paste. I sent it back, and the waiter said thats what Chef told him to call it. I told him he needs to let the Chef know that was unacceptable! The service was terrible, and the quality of the food was not worth the prices. We wont be back!

We stayed at the inn in September of 2009. The service was really nice: everyone - the inn keepers, the bar tenders and the waiters - were great, though a little preoccupied with some parties that were taking place at the facility. Keep in mind that the place is old, and the rooms are anything but modern. If youre ok with the smell of old houses and with staying in a room that is from the 1800s, feels old and dusty, and has poor lighting, you will enjoy your stay there. Some people chose to see the place as true to its "historic" roots, others see it as a lack of an effort to renovate and improve the place. There is much excitement in the reviews about the food, however we did not find it particularly impressive, granted were not particularly demanding. It was ok but nothing exceptional. If it wasnt for the people who work there, we would not consider this inn worthy of the 2-star rating we gave it. Although the place is near an interstate highway (rt 80), it is quiet. At night, we could hear the cars passing by on the road next to us but not the highway traffic. The place is pricey. We spent about $400 for one night for two adults plus an infant. This included a simple dinner and drinks, plus breakfast the next day. Definitely overpriced. The area has multiple farms where you can pick you own fruits and vegetables, or buy them. The inn and the surrounding area offer a good break from the routine for people who live in the NY area.

I attended a wedding at this location in June 2016 and it was beautiful. The setting is wonderful with the historic buildings and waterway as backdrops for the ceremony and all the pictures. The staff was friendly and professional and tended to the guests any way they could. The food for the rehearsal dinner at the Inn restaurant downstairs was delicious and again a very professional staff. The butternut squash soup was so rich and flavorful that our table jokingly suggested we should have been served some ice cream with it since it was almost like a dessert. In the fall they could add a bit of pumpkin flavor and serve it as a dessert called the melted pumpkin pie or something. Id fly back up from Texas just to try that Im sure. Overall the venue was great, the staff was great, the food was delicious and everyone seemed to have a wonderful time. Id like to thank the venue for helping give our friends such a beautiful wedding.

We had our wedding here June 2014. From the very first time I saw the Inn the scenery was unforgettable. It has that English garden charm and the staff are warm, friendly and professional. It was so convenient having everything in one place, as well as having plenty of space for all of our guests to stay. We had both our rehearsal dinner and our wedding at this venue and I couldn’t have had two more perfect days. It is a very laid back atmosphere. Everyone there made us feel comfortable and at home. I suppose there is no such thing as a stress-free wedding day but this is as close as it comes. I would recommend the Inn at Millrace Pond to anyone having an event. The tavern has that wonderful wood-fire smell, all of my guests raved about the food and the rooms and I had multiple guests says it was the best wedding they had been to. Such a beautiful space!

We held our company Holiday party in the Tavern this past Saturday night. We had eighteen people attend and everyone had a great time. The servers were friendly and attentive both at the bar during our "cocktail" hour and at our table during dinner. We had several passed appetizers, of which the shrimp cocktail and bacon wrapped scallops were standouts. Dinner was also very good with almost everyone getting the filet / crab cake combo. I personally had the grilled pork chop which was an inch thick and cooked just the way I like it - touch of pink in the middle to keep it juicy. The only minor complaint was that one of the soups we were offered came out lukewarm. Everyone raved about the second choice of soup we had, the Butternut Squash soup. The Inn at Millrace Pond will certainly be on the top of our list for next years party.

Ive stayed here on 5 occasions within the last 6 months and it is a delight each time. Great atmosphere, quiet spot and relaxing feel. The staff are better than anywhere else I have been...down to earth, professional and helpful on all occasions. Dont come here if you are in a hurry or looking for pampering. This is a country inn. Sit back, relax and forget things for a bit. I am using this hotel each time I come for work in the area from Switzerland. If we had a hotel like this in my country, I would probably want to buy it outright!

The place is really vintage and the room I stayed at was just the same, the bedding was nice and clean, the bathroom was very well renovated and the venue was clean and the employees are very friendly and accommodating. The venue is kinda in that middle of no where, thats about the worse part. The breakfast was simple, but surprisingly good and filling. Definitely worth staying a night.
