This used to be a bakery with high quality croissants, brioche, baguette, etc., in the style of France. No longer true. The quality is now equal to the bakery at the local supermarket chain. They have changed ingredients, chefs, ownership and/or all of the above according to my in-house spies. I used to rate this place on the level of the Gran Forno Italian bakery (Ft. Lauderdale, Las Olas), but Croissanttime is now removed from my list. It is a shell of its former self, but, as Bernard Casse knows full well, very few clients will be sophisticated enough to taste the difference, so this low quality bakery will expand (plans now underway to renovate). The baguette is a dense, sticky dough with little crust. The brioche is a tired mass of bland flour, the pastries are overly sweet concoctions to cater to the cruder American tastes, and the croissants are no longer light and flaky. This bakery gives France a bad name, so they should remove this designation from their title . The only thing French about this bakery is the prices. The quality, which in the past was the only distinguishing feature of this bakery, has disappeared. They have therefore removed the sole reason for their existence, for those clients that are sufficiently refined and polished to notice. Unfortunately, most will not notice.

Very decent strong espresso, passable croissants, but otherwise pretty bad. Flan was a horribly gelatinous mass with no flavor. It would match a rubberized display just fine, but whoever makes them has no idea what flan is (or how to make a custard in general). The ham+bechamel croissant was bad. Deli-style ham (nothing particularly noteworthy) drenched with a heavy bechamel sauce (soggy croissant, odd flavor)-- this much bechamel might be good to make a white pasta sauce, but who dumps it plain over a croissant-sandwich?? Chocolate-filled croissant was reasonable but not out-standing like this pastry is meant to be. Tap water served in foam cups like this was an ice cream stand. Unlike some other reviews, service seemed fine. The display case is pretty. Theres ample outdoor seating. Overall, had hoped for a traditional bakery of the sort very common in New England, but no luck here. For espresso, the starbucks just down the road (or the Whole Foods) will do just as well or better, so Id call this a "skip".

Very high prices for mediocre quality. I am from France and have had way better pastries, at a much better price. A chocolate eclair cost $7.15, so did a creme caramel and they were very sub-par, especially at that price. The Croque-Monsieur I had was under-grilled and didnt taste good at all. It was a ham and cheese double-decker sandwich but the bread was not toasted, the cheese was not melted and grilled has a croque-monsieur should be. And that was almost 10 bucks! I had a few other things that were equally disappointing. Dont try the hot chocolate! The friends I was with said the coffee was good. Overall I wouldnt say the food is bad but it is definitely NOT worth the price. The location is nice. There was a singer there sitting outside entertaining the people on the patio, which was nice. The serving system is very inefficient, even though the staff were nice. I have been to much better bakeries in the area and I shall not come back to Croissan-Time.

Ive been coming here for ever! It used to be one little room and now they have a whole shop and tables and everything! Their croissants are the best - theyre the closest youll get to croissants actually from France. Same with the bagettes and epi. They even have frozen dough you can bring home and bake your own! They have interesting salads, sandwiches, cheeses, meats, quiche, coffees made beautifully. Great for breakfast, brunch, or lunch! And their cakes! And the pastries!! Everything is so beautifully and crafted to perfection - your eyes cant decide what they want to look at first. You can tell they were made with love and a passion for fine foods. Its not the cheapest place, but you get what you pay for - high quality, great service, and fine food. Definitely recommend going!

I have lived in Fort Lauderdale 30 years, and this bakery is one of the best. I could usually put up with the rude employees and the long wait in line............until today. The credit card machine was not working, and the lady behind the counter swiped my card, that I saw, about 5 times. I started getting worried all those transactions were being processed. I ask her to void credit card sale, I would borrow cash till I got home. The employee called in a French woman who identified herself as the owner. Ive never met a more rude, nasty woman. She said "and just how do you expect us to get our money without swiping card?" I explained doing it over and over made me nervous. She then ask " whats wrong with your mind?" I WAS VERY hurt and embarrassed. Will never go back.

I have been to this place several times through out the years. Baguette is delicious, croissants and coffee are pretty good as well. After my trip to Paris I discovered Macarons and wanted to try it locally produced. This French bakery makes absolutely non French macarons that taste old although they are fairly soft. Unbelievable!!! $2.5 for a poor similarity of French macarons. Definitely not the place to get those. Although I was offered to replace my dessert with another pastry I was told that, I was the first person who complained about macarons. Well, maybe its not my lucky day but Dulce de Leche is a terrible one indeed.

Realmente Pasteleria y panes franceses o al menos bastante parecidos me gusta más para llevar que comer ahí pero se puede comer. Mi recomendación Todos los dulces son excelentes... los croisuantes son increíbles sobre todo el de chocolate .

Their croissants are amazing. I gave three stars because the creme brulé tasted like a sweet omelet. The apple tart was not the best I have ever had, but decent. The baguette was very good, but not like you get in Paris. It was lacking the intense crust. It feels more like American-French fusion rather than a true patisserie. The prices are little bit inflated, but I would come back for the croissant.

With croissant in the name, thats the first thing I had to try. It was fresh, flaky, buttery, and delicious. All of the baked goods look like they were made with a masterful touch. The staff may have more love for their creations than they do for the people buying them, but thats OK. They dont smile too much, but their croissants do!

IN DEFENSE OF THE STAFF In defense of the staff, the staff do not receive any of the tips in the lock box. Thats right! In violation of Federal and State laws, employers and managerial or salaried staff may not take part in a tip pool. You would be sour too. The quality of the product is a 3 on most items. The appeal is a -10.

Croissants are buttery, flaky and crispy, They are the best. Baguette is always warm and fresh. Cheese sticks, brioche are delicious as are the Chocolate croissants! Most of the pastries are very good, the napoleon, oh my! Ive been coming here for years to buy the few items listed, they are expensive hence the 4 star rating.
