Read all the recent reviews and was hesitant to go... but had such wonderful experiences there many years ago. Well... Went last night for my birthday with my wife for a special dining experience.and if i could give zero stars i would. From the moment we walked in... the greeter did not even say hi or good evening... just asked if we had a reservation, then said follow me... sat us and walked away... said nothing else (not even.. enjoy your dinner or happy birthday, which was on the reservation). The waiter was young guy, unshaven.. sniffing / sick... and did not know about 90% of the menu... every question we asked he could not answer and did not know what the sides were that night (and said who knows.. they could change anyway. Ordered the escargot... the only highlight of the night (very good). The soup was salty and cold and salad drowning in dressing. The Filet the both my wife and I ordered was tough (definitely not Prime... very low quality beef... probably not even a Filet). Salty and tasteless... everything was so awful... would have had a better meal at Chills! Will never go back again! Dont waste your time or money on this place... so sad!

My truck caught on fire on the Sierra Highway and I had no phone service. It was afterhours and the restaurant was closed but I went behind and asked for help and the owners son and employees all ran out like true heroes and helped me extinguish the fire. I offered to give them money but they refused. They did it out of kindness and good will. I asked them for a business card and they gave me one to their restaurant. I asked how the food was and they said that it was the best around. I knew I could believe them because they just stopped a catastrophe without charge. So the next day I was hungry and I wanted to try this best food around and I went there and the service is just as excellent as the heroes. The owner is warm and inviting. For the quality of restaurant the prices are even quite reasonable. I would recommend this place to anyone. It might be slightly higher than most are used to but the prices arent far from Red Lobster. You only live once so I would recommend living a little and experience the finest.

Ive been here at least 6 times. The wait staff is friendly. The food is pricey. On my latest visit the sauce on my veal shank was too salty and seemed out of balance with the rest of the plate. The broccoli puree was too salty as well, but the baby carrots were perfect. However, baby carrots should not exist on an upscale French cuisine plate. The veal itself was tender and flavorful, thank goodness. I ordered cream of cauliflower soup which was outstanding. I may think twice about coming back because the chef must be getting old tastebuds if he thinks the food is balanced for an experienced palate.

Had the most amazing dinner last night at Le Chêne in Santa Clarita. Juan the owner made a special dinner for us (octopus a la Gallega and Tortilla de Papas YUMMY!) this was surprised us with few of his favorite deserts Lemon Tart and White Chocolate Moose, and it could not have been more perfect! We found out also that he uses many of his ingredients from his own garden, the tomatoes were full of flavor and juicy. His wine is fantastic! I will go again for sure! Note: the french cuisine is his specialty and that is what I am going back for!

the food was great and very delicious, the only thing i did not like is the waitress that served us, we were about 15 people, she forgot to put the order in for one of the guests, also she put my ordered dinner plate in front of the other guest even though she had just asked who has what. she has no smile on her face, i was more polite and was thanking her and had a smile on my face..than her. I dont think she enjoys what she is doing, you can tell she is not a happy person. otherwise i strongly recommend this place.

When I go, I order the lobster tail, which is always enormous, and the filet mignon. Both are spectacular. Traditional French country offerings highlight the extensive menu. The service is stellar, and every server can describe, in detail, whatever dish you inquire about. A must for any foodie wanting to escape the doldrums. Oh, and order a French beer with your appetizer (the escargot is amazing) and the strawberry frulette for desert. You will thank me.

Im giving this 5 stars based on memory alone...cant believe its still open & expanded soooooooo much since my childhood! And happy to see Juan is still in charge. I met David Hasselhoff here when he was filming Knight Rider...Yes, Im that old. Le Chêne still holds the record for best Chocolate Mousse & best French Onion Soup Ive ever had. Will have to return to this fabulous place now that Im back in driving distance for a fantastic meal.

I took my fiance to Le Chene for her birthday and could not be more pleased. The building and the grounds are beautiful and create a romantic atmosphere, the waitstaff are very friendly and attentive, and the food is outstanding. The prices, of course, will be on the pricier side (20-30 per person), but you really get what you pay for in quality and portion--Ive never seen such a big filet minon... Well be back again for sure!

Awful food and service. The staff should learn how to prepare food properly and thoroughly. The onset of nausea caused by food poisoning was only exacerbated by the foul odors emanating from the servers breath and lack of personal hygiene. They really take the french stereotype of horrendous body odor and obnoxious personalities to another level!! Dont waste your money or time on these people for a moment

Stopped here once in an emergency. Crashed my car into a fence opposite because some redneck killer had been chasing me halfway across the state in his filthy juggernaut fuel tanker. Owner very sharp when I needed to use the toilet. Then when I got into a brawl with who I thought was the truck driver, the damn owner made ME feel unwelcome yet offered the trucker another sandwich for free!!!!

If you love French food, you wont be disappointed, but that isnt what makes this restaurant the best place to eat anywhere in the Santa Clarita area: French? Look at their menus! I dont know if I like ostrich, but its only because I havent gotten around to it. Their menu of diverse dinners is huge, service is excellent, and its the most unique place to eat youll find within 50 miles.

Classic place with classic French dishes. A huge wine menu, a full bar, and an espresso machine. What more could I ask for? Oh yeah, how about friendly bartenders and great customer service? Theu have that too. We also met the owner and his wife. Very nice people. We will be going back whenever we are in the area.
