Read this or not, its up to you. Its raining and I have time on my hands :). For reasons I cant even explain, I keep coming back to T-Rex in hopes that this place will somehow return to what it once was; good food, good service and solid adult beverages. Today proved me wrong, once again and I realized this place really does suck. Between the poor service, which I dont blame the employees for, but I do blame Matt, the manager and the owners for not properly training their staff and the limited Happy Hour selections, I see why people have complained. There is something called consistency that is imperative when it comes to service and when it comes to food preparation. Consistency is a word that is not part of the T-Rex training manual. Tonight, the fault lies with the bartender and the servers on the sidelines. Ill start with the bartender. First El Heffe was okay, light on the ice and tasty. Second was heavy on the ice and light on everything else. I think he was to busy watching the Football (aka American Soccer) on the screen to notice the difference. Next, the servers. One thing I dont want to ever overhear is a server telling another server to "scrape the cheese off of the burger, toss it on the grill and give it back". I can only imagine what they do to my food and yours when we are not satisfied. Matt, the manager, looks dazed and confused every time I have come in. Maybe because he is working in the back changing the menu for the 25th time, I dont want to insult Matt, sure he is a nice guy. The fault with T-Rex lies with the owners who dont manage well and continue to think about the bottom line and not the customer who has kept this place afloat for years. I feel bad for the kids who work at T-Rex. They are flying by the seat of their pants, clueless about what makes great service, great food, and positive impressions on their guest. What happened to taking the time to train an employee to do good work. Ive been in their shoes before and it is not all their fault. They do the best with what little instruction the are given. I guess all I am asking for is consistency in food, service and quality. For so long you did things right. All you had to do was keep it up. Bring back the good, spicy ketchup, dont over cook the chicken, dont thin out the blue cheese dip and fix your drink menu and things may improve a bit.

Before visiting T-Rex, I read some of the reviews to see if there was any merit what people had said in their prior reviews. True to form, the service was slow largely because the buss-boy and wait staff could not get on the same page. Initially, I asked for an upstairs table the server refused our request. After being declined to sit upstairs, I asked for a table close to the big screen but was told the table (in question) had been reserved for a party (that never showed up). Eventually I was seated by the door on a cushion next to three tables. After being seated, the wait staff took an hour to get a single order of fries on my table. Other parties (who were seated after us) were receiving their orders before mine had been taken? The wait staff appeared confused, rushed and disorganized. There was no follow-up after my meal arrived and the fries were served in bits and pieces as if I was being given the leftovers from the bottom. A table next to me was being attended to by multiple people who were familiar with the two dining guests but nobody bothered to ask "how was your meal"? I had to get out of my seat and go to the bar to get my ticket to pay for my meal (and this was after the place had nearly emptied out). Lousy service, average food and terrible demeanor from the staff. Maybe an off-night or maybe just a poorly managed staff? Ive had much better service in some of the foreign countries Ive visited where language was a problem. e.g. England, France, Belgium, Germany, Sweden, Hong Kong, China...etc. You be the judge but dont say you werent warned.

My friend and I were looking for a dog friendly restuarant to have dinner after a long day at the dog park. I had never been here before. The atmosphere is chill, we sat outside with the dogs. There werent any heaters that I could see, but, thankfully it was a nice evening. The staff was very friendly, and many of them came out to see our furry friends. They gave them water too. We got some beer samples to decide on a pitcher. It was between a cider and a hef, they were both good but we decided to go with the hef. I ordered a steak sandwich with brussel sprouts instead of fries, and a side of mac n cheese with bacon. Here is my review of each: The Mac n cheese was to die for and totally worth the extra calories. The steak sandwich was steak, arugula, goat cheese, tomato, and grilled red onion on ciabatta bread. It was slightly dry for my liking, the goat cheese was somewhat strong and had a blue cheese after taste. I asked for no onion, but when I received my meal it had onions, overall the sandwich was satisfactory and I had the other half for lunch the next day cold, and it still tasted good. The brussel sprouts were so wonderful that I could go on and on about them. If you do not like brussel sprouts, I suggest you try them here. They had no bitter taste whatsoever. The service was fast, and friendly. The price was a little higher than I usually pay, but, definitely on point for the quality and portions of the food they serve.

LOOKS CAN BE DECEIVING!!! When I first walked in the place looked great and smelled great. We were seated right away, greeted by our server and brought our drinks and had our starters ordered...that is where the great service/experience ended. We had been brought our starters, finished them, had our plates cleared and still waited 5 min before our server came back to take our entree order. We placed our orders...but were HIGHLY DISSAPPOINTED when we received our food. I ordered the Southern Fried Chicken (Chicken was good/slightly dry) It was supposed to come with sauteed chard (it did) and Jalepeno Cheesy Grits (DID NOT)...when my plate was set down I was informed that the Grits (the whole reason I ordered the Fried Chicken) were not ready when the rest of my food was so they just threw some french fries on the plate...made no attempt to see if I wanted to wait for the grits or allow me to choose another side to my liking. My daughter got the Mac & Cheese, which was supposed to have a breadcrumb topping (DID NOT) when our server was questioned about this she said they must have mixed them into the cheese sauce for texture...BS!!! When I asked to speak with a manager I was told that there was not one available...apparently they do not care about their customers so I would advise anyone not to waste their time or money here when there is so many other Truly Great restaurants in the area, that appreciate their patrons.
