Place is busy, but comfortable. If of locals and city visitors. Went for breakfastortions are LARGE and food is fresh. Real. Blueberry pancakes are made with fresh pancakes ,sausage was awesome, eggs cooked the way requested. Coffee was good. Husband wants to come back to try the breakfast irish breakfast plate. Prices are typical. I got an egg sandwich for $6-7, but breakfast plates run $14-17 with free coffee with the breakfast plates, oatmeal about $4, generally 10-12 for most big items. Hubby a English Breakfast, my daughter pancakes with eggs and bacon (enough to split for 2 people). For three of us, for three large meals, three coffees it was 45. We will be back!!!

My friends warned me about this place. How does it get such good reviews?! Thought Id try it anyway. I ate their multigrain french toast which was soggy and wet. Awful. Plus theyre small, and really thin slices of bread. Waitress tried to justify it saying that it is normally wet from when they dip it in batter. Ate it anyway because I was starving. Eggs were cold around the edges - it was not terribly busy there either. French toast = $8, 2 Eggs = $2.50. Go to a breakfast place on 3rd in the 40s-- theyre cheaper, faster, and better quality food.

Im looking for a good breakfast place in NYC and found this on yelp with and average rating of 4.3. So NOT worth that rating, I acctually needed to do my first review because if it.. Staff = kind of rude acctually Price = had omelette, greek yog and juice for 25$, thats expensive Food = nothing over the ordinary at all, regular dinner with average food. Dont base your visit because of my review, its subjective and if you want a genuine diner and you cant find anyone nearby, here you got one. My grade 2/5.

I like the selection and friendly service..I was in the town for couple days and always looking place the eat...I saw lot of empty place which I stay a way and than I saw this one with half way full with customers...Turn out it was good decision for me...time to time you may get bad service who knows what reason and it doesnt proof the place is no good. Some of the negative reviews here is unnecessary...Id dont take them seriously. Ill go try them and find out myself...Id recommend everyone to do same...

More of a diner than a cafe. The service is great and the servers check up on you often to refill your drink and take away your plates quickly. The food came out within 10 min of us ordering and was rather good, not the best Ive had but good. The eggs Benedict was a little lacking but thats probably because it was quick. And on the stairs down to the bathroom they even added carpet so when you hit your head it doesnt hurt as much. Overall, a good experience.

Have been to the city twice from England with each of my Daughters, found this little Gem1st time round and really enjoyed a hearty Breakfast each day.My next visit was back in February and dragged my other Daughter here to show her our little find, she was equally impressed, and has now been telling everyone visiting NY. to eat here.Keep up the good work!

Staff was very friendly and on point. The owner was right there and a really nice guy. We sat at the counter for breakfast and were quite impressed with how the staff handled being very busy with walk in patrons and many call in orders to be delivered. The owner helped in all of it. Very well run place. We will be back next time we are in New York City.

I came in to have breakfast by myself. I intended to order a large breakfast with orange juice coffee etc. I would not give me a table. I did not want to sit at a cluttered counter counter. They told me I could only have a table if I had 2 or 3 people with me. The cafe was not anywhere close to being full.

Mehh..food presentation quality not as rated. Herein.. I went at 0530am, three people there...and I was presented eggs benadict that was...not what it should have been. No veggies just fast order bla...yuck. The stars awarded greater than three are probably from relatives. Go for another option.

This is hands down the best diner in the neighborhood and possibly all of Midtown (East and West). They always serve good quality food, the place is always clean, and the staff is super friendly and accommodating. Its the goto spot for many locals. I highly recommend Morning Star for any meal.

I went to the ess-a-bagel nearby, but the line was so long that I didnt want to wait. Found this place from the Internet. I had a cappuccino and a bagel with cream and lox. Was delicious! Both for 18.40$. The staff were friendly and nice, the place was half full. Great place for a breakfast!

The food is mediocre at best and the staff is highly inattentive. After asking a waiter for assistance I was waved off and then bluntly ignored. My egg sandwich was average and the breakfast potatoes had no seasoning or flavor. All in all this stop was a raging disappointment.

I walked in and got a terrible welcome. Staff was extremely rude and almost threw the menu on my table. I walked out. Waiters speak Spanish with each other and I understand it, they were using rude racial slurs. Will never go there and do not recommend.

Delicious! My girlfriend and I came here after some drinking last night -- definitely great hangover food. However, Im sure it would be even better if I wasnt hung over. We got our food in about 5 minutes, and they even have real maple syrup!

Good service, orders are cooked fast. Had eggs benedict today. Hollandaise sauce was near perfect. Ham wasnt seared, only heated, such a minor thing though. Rest of the meal was more than adequate for the price paid. Would definitely return

Avoid this place around 9-10:00 am! When i was about to sit down in a table for two, the manager told us to get up because he had a big group waiting outside. Thats totally fine! Now i dont think u can sit a big group in a table for two.

Awful place. Waiters keep speaking Spanish they are curt almost rude. The atmosphere is not friendly. Food is bland my seven grain toast was tasteless and soft. Avoid this. We usually love diners but this one is really bad.

came here for breakfast 2 days in a row the food was amazing. Lovely pancakes and full English breakfast. Service is a bit slow once seated but it was well worth the wait. Plus a great window view for people watching

This was the place to go to for breakfast, I absolutely loved the atmosphere in the morning star. Small but well run, with a large selection for breakfasts. It was a little taste of a true New York diner for me.
