My friend of 15 years and a classy well dressed/ mannered team of about 20 close friends decided to celebrate her birthday at B-Bar, as the place has a nice spacious and cozy interior and is located in the middle of beautiful lower Manhattan. When we seated ourselves at the available corner and naturally moved the 3 local tables together - a waiter seemed to have a panic attack saying we are not allowed to do that (move tables), and when asked why he just kept repeating the same line like a parrot not providing a reasonable explanation. A minute into it, he gave up and ran to call his "supervisor" - a female with a very unprofessional attitude to tell us that if we dont like their policy we are free to leave, without even trying to first be courteous. Most of us in the group are from customer service related fields, and are successful in our careers because we know the value of having 20 customers walk through the door ready to lay out money. The "manager" was rude, short handed and just kept repeating we should leave even when we asked why cant we sit at three different tables (back at their position) and pay for our dinner and drinks in three separate checks. (At this point I expressed my dissatisfaction) and she proceeded to get her own superior. A man in a sport jacket came fast and simply told us to leave immediately without even asking what went wrong. It took the diplomacy of a hottest blond in the crew to convince to listen to our side of the incident before just tossing business. (Honestly, I personally would have caused a scene and left anyways, but remained calm for the sake of my friends b-day). We stayed only because it was becoming too late and we were too hungry to search another spot. The waiter and bar service was rude, rare, and totally wrong. The food is the only star they get. Never again. That kind of service is worth zero stars.

BBar has great selection of food and drinks. UNFORTUNATELY, the service was terrible. The food took to long to be served, after an hour of waiting, my party and I Inquired about the foods status, come to find out our order wasnt even placed. When it was time to close out, the waitress decided to take the cash that was used for the bill as her tip without asking. When she brought it to her managers attention about putting the wrong amount on my wrong, he ended up charging me another wrong amount. My final receipt closed out at $57.00 dollars, but I was charged $87.00 and then $150.00. Making it a total of $237.00. I understand that people make mistakes, but a huge transaction difference like that should of been brought to me (the customers) attention. Telling me that I will be refunded my money after traveling all the way back wasnt the right way to handle things.

The B Bar and Grill is a nice restaurant and bar in Manhattan near the old site of CBGB. For being in their location they offer decent food at a decent price - which is sometimes a difficult combination to find in NYC. Interestingly, they have integrated Mediterranean sensibilities with typical pub faire and this realizes a culinary vision that I havent really experienced before. We started with some Lamb Meatballs, which were delicious and a perfect example of the combination of influences. I enjoyed my main selection - the Spicy Chicken Sandwich and also enjoyed tasting my wifes hummus. It was not a perfect meal, but it was affordable and good. The alcohol selection seemed typical, but I dont drink often, so I just enjoyed a Corona. The atmosphere is also pleasant, with equally pleasant staff.

The sister bar of "The Park" in the Meatpacking district. Its strength is the open-air garden in the center. Its a wonderful place in the summer to grab a drink and sit around a table with some friends while surrounded by trees and a relaxed atmosphere. On the weekends, it can get pretty packed and "clubby" by the end of the night (usually a bit of line outside after midnight). The bar is usually overwhelmed so prepare to wait/fight your way for a drink, which is why you should come around 9:30/10pm to snipe a table to avoid the crowd and make them a lively background to your night. It does have a bit of a frat/sorority vibe to it, but if thats not your thing, then grabbing a seat by 4th St and the open doors provides a mellow atmosphere.

It is a splendid place, spacious, elegant, high ceiling. With fixed sofas (dinner style) and terrace furniture outdoor. Decorated with very good taste, unpretentious, very well illuminated I went there on Thanksgiving`s Sunday, at nine, it was almost empty. I ordered a house salad that was delicious, with all kind of fresh greens, a great vinaigrette that perfectly dressed each leave, without burning them, and very well presented, everything dropped with elegance. Later it became crowded of good-looking people on the thirty-fourties I was delighted with everything. I´m sure B created certain trend in the city and the world. Its still spectacular, a new classic. You have to be the new hip city bar on the year to be the overbooked one!

I was reminded about how much I dislike this place today because my coworker is heading there. Let me tell you how awesome this place is. The backyard / outdoor / indoor part is great. Its beautiful and spacious. Now let me tell you how much I love this place. This one nice summers day - during a long weekend when the city was quiet, my friends and I decided to go grab drinks at B Bar (around 5pm)... the place was empty as well as the city was completely empty. We wanted to have a drink in a nice relaxing setting but they turned us away because we werent ordering food and they were doing dinner service... which was fine except the place was dead / empty. Ive been to B Bar before. Food is meh and over priced.

Unfortunately, my experience at BBar wasnt very good. I had never been there before, but have walked past it many times thinking it could be cool to give it a shot. I went for a birthday gathering, and it was pretty difficult to get any drinks, and when I finally got the barkeeps attention, I was given some drinks that were priced like they should be super strong, yet tasted like they were non alcoholic, and not in that "dangerously strong" area. It just tasted like syrup and drink mix. The music was also super loud which didnt really mix well with a more relaxed daytime vibe that everyone seemed to be going for, but for a place that wasnt super packed, you wouldnt expect getting a drink to be such a chore.

This is a great place to visit after before the theater. The menu is very hard to interpret. Many of the items on the menu required the waitress to describe what it was. Names are completely foreign. The wine list included many expensive bottles of wine but nothing for the average person. Seating for everyone was very close to the next table can hear exactly what youre talking about which is a little uncomfortable. Service was just so so there was room for improvement. The restaurant is very attractive but small. If you want to just stop in for a drink its probably a good idea but thats about it. Probably will not return as I wasnt impressed with all the fancy names and what was actually on the plate.

A cool spot, with a tacky crowd. Its always a shame when a cool downtown place doesnt have a cool downtown scene. This monster bar has so much potential. 3 or 4 bars, out door seating, little drunky dance floor, trees, comfortable booths. So much to offer. I guess thats why the crowd is a little iffy. I wont go there. I just dont enjoy it. Its a great place to go with a large group of friends. You can absolutely make your own fun, which is half the fun of going out any way right? Booze prices average to slightly higher. Ive had some appetizers but nothing of note. The waiters are fine, but more restaurant equipped as opposed to bar friendly. Drinks tend to take awhile so order a double.
