The atmosphere and the staff were both pleasant, if not overly competent. We stopped in on a Friday night, requested a table and left a phone number. We were told it be about a 25 minute wait. We went to a nearby coffee shop and received a phone call about 30 minutes later from the restaurant saying our table was ready. We went back to Morris Ramen, but were told they must have called the wrong number, because our table wouldnt be ready for awhile. So, back to the coffeeshop. After another 15 minutes, we got a phone call saying out table was ready. Back to Morris we went. This time, we were told the table would be ready shortly and that we should stand off in a crowded corner until out table was ready. We ended up waiting for another 10 minutes. None of this would have been a problem if the food had actually been good. I ordered the miso ramen--which, to be fair, had a tasty broth. Others in our group ordered the morris and the spicy ramen. Their broths were bland. Everyones noodles looked and tasted like instant ramen noodles. The edamame was cold--like it had just been taken out of a freezer--, and the kimchi was bland. Definitely not worth the wait or the money.

Staff was very nice and energetic. It was very crowded Friday night but we were able to get a table in under 15 minutes. After reading the other reviews I wanted to give this place a try. To be honest, I was not impressed with the food at all. I had the Morris Ramen and a Saketini. The Saketini tasted like the cough syrup I had when I was a child (although it did have plenty of alcohol in it which was nice). The taste was not pleasant. The Pork Belly in the Morris Ramen wasnt much better (and I love pork). The taste was unbearable for me. I only ate the Ramen and the half hard boiled egg. The staff and atmosphere were overall great and I wish the food/drink matched.

- Fantastic, authentic ramen - Tasty and tasteful cocktails - Elegant yet cozy decor and an unpretentious atmosphere - Efficient and friendly staff - Excellent liquor selection - Perfectly-sized menu with just the right number of choices - They carry Stillwater Extra Dry beer (the perfect light, refreshing, dry brew to go with a rich bowl of ramen—seriously, no matter what kind of beer you like, or even if youre one of those rare folks who dont like beer at all, try this) One of the best restaurants in Madison these days, and hands-down the best ramen place.

The decor was awesome. The food was good/fine. Service was excellent; our server was super knowledgeable and very attentive. I had the miso ramen with ground pork and my friend had the pork belly one. Its about $14 for a bowl. Id give Morris Ramen four stars if it werent for Ramen Kid, which I think is just a little bit better broth wise, variety wise (and price wise too, if I recall correctly). Pro tip: Morris Ramen has a large selection of cocktails, liquor, wine and beer, if youre into that. Much larger than the selection at Ramen Kid.

Honestly? One of the best places to eat in Madison. The menu is pretty straightforward (four types of ramen, several sides, four types of buns, good 30+ drinks to choose from) but everything is top notch. The buns are delicious and the ramen is simply incredible. If you havent been there before, recommend starting with buns for an appetizer and getting the "house ramen" (Morris Ramen). You wont be disappointed. Tiny suggestion: I wish they ran lunch specials (a half-ish order of ramen and a bun or two for $10 would be grand).

Vegetarian ramen often gets overlooked, but Morris Ramen has done a great job bringing a unique and satisfying bowl to bear - I know several meat eaters who prefer it! The care they put into the dish is a perfect example of the attention theyve given to all the items on a short but excellent menu. A welcome addition to the downtown Madison scene. Updated 7/28: The hiyashi chuka is a refreshing addition to the menu that fits the bill for summer. Nice to see theyre still going strong at the 9 month mark.

Had another wonderul evening at Morris. Ramen was spot on PERFECT! We got the pleasure sitting near the kitchen and chatting with one of the cooks, she was very sweet. Our servers name was Katie and she was very attentive even though you could tell she had a full section. My partner asked about the pickle selection and before we knew it the the lovely cook had a small sample platter of pickled mushrooms and radish in front of us. BEST Ramen in town! Thanks Guys!

They have really figured out how to do ramen really really well here. The broth in each of the options is amazing, rich, well developed, flavorful. The items in each complement each other well, but staff also always has great recommendations as to how to modify. Fun, cozy environment with great staff and drinks. Definitely plan for a wait, its getting more and more popular. Good times to go are lunch and happy hour, less wait and good deals on ramen and a drink.

This is my new favorite restaurant in Madison. As the restaurant name suggests, the ramen is definitely the highlight. Ive had okay experiences with buns and good experiences with the wings, but this is by far the best ramen in Madison, and while that might not be saying much, I will also qualify it saying that its definitely in the top 3 dishes Ive ever had in this city. Ive had the spicy ramen, the Miso, and the Morris, all of which have been 10/10 for me.

Wanted to check it out due to the hype but ended up being disappointed. 1. The noodles come in 2 varieties, a thick variety (decent) and a thinner one with texture like top ramen. 2. The broth was the only redeeming quality of the place, although a little on the salty side. 3. The meat was tender but did not have a lot of flavor 4. The sides were not very good and overpriced You could probably make better ramen at home.

Literally flawless. Their veggie ramen is the best Ive ever had, and certainly, easily better than the other ramen joints in Madison. The owners seem incredibly competent and kind, and they look like they enjoy their work. Ambiance is A+. They did wonders with the decor (much better than it was). The background music has always been just to my liking. Not much more I need to say. Go!

After being severely let down by all the ramen places Ive been to in Madtown, I had just about given up... until I came across this little gem. Seriously, the only two downsides that I can think of is that I wish they had bigger spoons and that they had a sign somewhere so that the entrance is easier to find. Writing this review has made me very hungry. Time for a ramen

Great service. We had a snafu with my phone and didnt get the message that our table was ready. Despite it not being their fault, they were very accommodating and even comped our drinks. Their ramen selection is limited but one of the better ones in Madison. Very rich broth and good topping selection. The buns are good too.

We got there early with kids and had no problem being seated. However, there was only one high chair and the next couple with a small kid had to make due without. The food was flavorful and fresh - the ramen broth was unctuous and delicious. I cant wait to go back and try some of the other things on the menu I passed on.
