I have eaten here a number of times and each time the experience has been good. This place is not fine dining but the food is good and reasonably priced. The lengthy menu consists mostly of comfort food. The gyros were a nice surprise. (tasty too) Someone else wrote its their favorite breakfast/lunch restaurant. Thats a great way to look at it. It is not a snooty dining destination. It is not fast food or a themed chain-restaurant. It is a place to get a good meal and then leave. A sign outside which reads "FOOD" would be perfect. :-) The place seems to cater to an older demographic. If you have an AARP card, youll fit right in. I think they have a lot of regulars; possibly a well-kept secret. They are usually busy but Ive never had to wait for a table. They also have a counter with stools much like you would find in a diner or truck stop. The restaurant has a large, clean dining room with unremarkable decor; hospital cafeteria or the breakfast room in a chain motel come to mind. The service was great and the staff were both efficient and very friendly. The prices are reasonable.

This was the worse restaurant experience Ive ever encountered. Two families were seated about 5-10 minutes after us. They both got their drinks and order taken. My sister took my nephew to the bathroom and the waitresses were in back chatting and playing on their phones. We actually had to ask them if we could order our appetizers (keep in mind these other two families were already taken care of) Our waitress came by and said," I was told you were ready to order your appetizers?" This was the first time she even "checked" on us. Our buffalo wings were just plain wings and we received two bowls of tobacco sauce, I have NEVER had to put my own sauce on. Its like us receiving the ingredients to our dish and us making it ourselves. We also had to ask for silverware. I LOVE the breakfast, for thats the only time I ate there. Maybe its just the night staff but I will never eat lunch or dinner there again. I am also a big tipper, I will tip $10 to a $30 meal, but this place and staff did not deserve a title tonight. Im very disappointed.

Seriously, the worst dining experience I have ever had. Avoid this restaurant before this happens to you. First off our waitress comes by stoned off her gorge that we could even smell her and see her bloodshot eyes, not even aware of what shes doing or whats going on. She came by with salads before weve even ordered, "Did you order these?" no.. we didnt. We ask how many pieces of batterfry fish come with the dinner she says 4, so she brings us 2... No you said 4 why is it 2 all of a sudden? Well she goes stomping back to the kitchen, comes stomping back with 3 more pieces of fish saying, and I am not even kidding you, "HERE I BROUGHT YOU THESE TO PLEASE YOU!!!" So we ask to speak to the manager, the manager didnt seem to give a rats ass, all he said was, and omfg Im not kidding here either, "People make mistakes. What do you want me to do? Shoot her?" ....................... What the actual hell. This place... just omg. No.

Our family decided to give this restaurant a try for breakfast while we were on vacation in La Crosse and it far exceeded our expectations. They were very helpful with our 2 little kids and we went back again the very next morning. It was the best breakfast we had on our entire trip. The servers remembered us from the day before and even remembered what we ordered. I had the country skillet (biscuits, outstanding sausage gravy, hashbrowns, cheese, eggs, other stuff) both days and it was awesome. My wife chose healthier options for herself and they were outstanding as well. Pancakes were great, waffles outstanding, even the oatmeal was better than what I am used to (no idea what they do to it to make it so much better than how I make it). Very large portions, and friendly staff. There were mostly older clientele when we were there (pretty early in the morning!) but it was outstanding for our family.

I went for lunch and got the chicken Alfredo which tasted like it had chemicals in it and it had a very strong bad odor. I decided not to finish to take it home and maybe try it the next day. Still the next day it almost smelt like gasoline and tasted awful! I got the worst stomach ache and was sick for 2 days. Later my husband, sister in law and I decided to try it again. I ordered a side salad and a burger. The salad was the saddest thing Ive ever seen and the stump of the head of lettuce was at the bottom of my bowl and had dirt on it.... I was not impressed. The waitress did not seem to care much about it. After we got home all 3 of us felt nauseous and sick to our stomachs. We all felt like we got poisoned. Needless to say we will never go there again. Especially after seeing the health inspection review about an infestation of flies in the kitchen.

When I walked in, I was standing there for a least five minutes to be seated when there were four workers folding napkins and talking within my view. There were maybe three or four tables seated- it was not busy at all. After I was finally seated, I was served warm water and warm mountain dew. Then, a huge, very loud group was seated directly next to me. Keep in mind, there were still plenty of empty seats in the restaurant. I tried not to let the sudden rise in volume affect me, but as I was eating my taco wrap, I just didnt care to stay. I took a box and went back to my hotel. I had started to feel a little queezy, so I laid down for a nap. I woke up in about a half hour and was sick. I do not plan on stopping back here.

The only reason this place is getting more than one star is because the staff and atmosphere here are normally really nice and tend to get to you for your order fairly quickly. The last time I was there they had highschool girls bussing tables that only wanted to stand behind the counter to whisper and giggle with each other. Then when the one that seated me finally came to take my order, she said she was new so I asked her to check with the kitchen to see if they could do something. Not only did she not ask the kitchen ahead of time about the order, she claimed she would call the cops for me not wanting to pay for the item when it was brought out wrong.

We eat out so much that I have visited many, many family style restaurants. I found this to be one of the very best I have ever eaten at. The food here is tasty and prepared perfectly, the service is friendly, fast, and efficient. The country long cabin decor is pleasant, plenty of parking enough seating and wait staff to insure quick seating and immediate service even on Friday nights at 7 pm. Had the walleye 9.99. Perfect, and much, much better than that I paid 19.95 for at another restaurant last week. There were 5 of us, and each of us had nothing but compliments about our meals. 5/5 for causal dining
