Wonderful! Ate at Citron for a second time last night, and it was just as fantastic as our first visit. The food is consistently yummy, with classic-but-unstuffy European dishes and ambience. We tried a large assortment of French, German, and French-German (Alsatian) dishes, and were very happy with all of them. Love the atmosphere and decor – clean, cheery, understated sophistication. It’s perfect for the full range of spur-of-the-moment casual to special occasion dining. Unpretentious but outstanding attention from the wait staff (and chef!) made our visit very special. The Alsatian Tarte appetizer is going to be my choice of entrée next time; my husband “can’t stand” olives or onions, yet LOVED them as components of this perfectly executed (and generous) dish of complex and perfectly balanced flavors. It makes my mouth water just thinking about it. Here’s some advice that’s very important: you owe it to yourself to order the bread - I cant even describe how good it is - just order it, trust me! Reasonable prices considering the quality of the food, with several very affordable but delicious choices. If this restaurant is a bit out of the way for you, you’ll find it’s worth the drive! I know well be back MANY times.

Had the Cordon Bleu w/side Caesar, seasoned potatoes, and veggies. It was delicious and the chef came out to see what I thought; he recommended dipping it in some variation of Dijon mustard. My waiter had a very thick French accent which lent the restaurant credibility. He was also extremely friendly and attentive. Relatively small menu with limited beer selection (draught only.) A Kronenbourg 1664 in a chilled glass was nice though. Will come back to try the creme brulee and croque-monsieur (lunch menu only.) Only gripe is the location: sketchy looking apartments share the same lot with a wire fence in-between. Some ridiculous sports bar/strip club is a stones throw in the opposite direction. Neither of which is in the restaurants control. I just wouldnt feel comfortable visiting before they close at night.

The flavors are awesome! By far the best meal weve had over our 2 weeks road trip. The ambiance is nice if maybe a bit too bright. We were here late at night so the sounds of the final clean up were a bit loud but not entirely unexpected. It was very quiet, I think only 2 other tables were occupied. My wife had the seafood pasta which was wonderful; she couldnt finish it all. She also had the onion soup which was really good, far better than any other weve tried. My braised pork was heavenly, such a delicious sauce and the meat was falling apart. Each of the veggies were perfect and the assortment was extensive. I got a Caesar salad to start which was very mild in flavor but the greens were very fresh. Overall, I cant understand why this place was so quiet. The prices are very reasonable.

Always a nice experience dining here. I have not ordered an item off of the menu that I would not order again. Its rare to find a well learned chef as passionate about cooking and his customers satisfaction. Upon my first visit the owner made time to come introduce himself and made sure the dishes were to my liking. As a culinary enthusiast, Im happy to have a French owned and operated bistro in the neighborhood.

As someone who was born and raised in Austria, I absolutely fell in love with this quiet little place the first time I was here. From the sophisticated atmosphere, to the attentive and friendly wait staff, to the amazing menu, I have nothing but praises for this Bistro. Choices range from the comforting to the exotic and prices are very reasonable. The place is small, cozy, clean, and stylish. Love it!

Food was very delicious and tasty. The dish I had was pork And it just falls apart/melts in your mouth and my grandma had a goat cheese ravioli that wasnt on the menu and they made it for her because shes vegetarian. If I had to rate how in/expensive it is from $ Cheap, $$ not as expensive, $$$ expensive Id say $$. Over all ☆☆☆☆ out of ☆☆☆☆☆ stars Very delicious

The Citron European Bistro is exquisite! The prices are reasonable and the French cuisine devine. My husband had the trout and I had the fillet minion de porc and both were fabulous! I was in Tacoma from Texas visiting family and we all chose to dine here. I plan to dine here again on future visits. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Honestly probably the best meal of my life! And the chef and waiter are from France and were awesome. The chef came out of the back to answer all our questions and even explained how to make the Rote Grutze (which is amazing and was the perfect contrast to the meal, definitely try it!) Well be back for sure!

Very good food, ambiance, and service. It was a little bit busy so service was not perfect but overall it scores high on my list. Food was on point. We had the seafood pasta and the cordon bleu. Portions are generous and accompanied with very well thought out sides. A special outing!

We decided to become regulars after our first meal. The food is lovely, presented with simple elegance and attention to detail. At the same time, there is a wonderful country inn graciousness to the service. We know we are going to be happy and feel taken care of.

Fabulous French/German food in a charming bistro setting. Service was excellent and the food is traditional, fresh European classics. Be prepared for a lovely, romantic experience in a very unlikely part of Tacoma about a mile from Pacific Lutheran University.

I have been to Citron probably 5 or so times now. The waitstaff is always warm and receptive. The chef puts his heart and soul into his cooking and is very kind in person as well. My favorite restaurant ever. 10/10 would recommend!

Been there twice in a month, the starter tarte was really great both times, food is good as are their desserts. I wish they would open the wine at the table.
