We love Happy at the Bay. We go there once a week... which is fine because the cost of feeding a family of four at HatB isnt too painful (translation: very reasonably priced). The service is excellent, but Im likely quite biased as weve become regulars (although the service was good the very first time we dropped in). The food is good, but its nothing special (youre eating at a teriyaki joint in the NorthWest, after all). Go to HatB for the simplicity, convenience, and friendly atmosphere. Its the neighborhood teriyaki spot. If youre looking for something a bit more formal, upscale, and expensive, there are a bunch of nice restaurants in Tacoma.

The only downside to this place is that its closed on Sundays. Ive tried every Teriyaki place in Gig Harbor and this one is number one in my book! They serve nice, big portions for a low price. The taste of everything Ive tried is great. Its truly "comfort" food, Japanese style. The atmosphere is friendly and the staff is accommodating, polite, and quick. Ive been a loyal customer for over ten years now and I plan to continue going there regularly. I highly recommend this as a great family place for a tasty, affordable lunch or dinner.

Definitely our favorite teriyaki place in the harbor! Whether its dining in or for take out this is our go to. Good flavor on the teriyaki chicken, great sesame chicken and the Happy Soup hits the spot during the cold months. Salad dressing has really good flavor. Best part is, you always get service with a smile here!

The food is reasonably priced and tasty, especially their dinner-for-two special which comes with soup, salad, gyoza, teriyaki chicken and voice of other chicken for 19.99. The staff are friendly and prompt. My go-to place for teriyaki.
