Horrible. In a nutshell: 90 minutes for our entire party of 7 to receive mediocre dinners. 3 people were served in 30" the other 4 waited, then were told repeatedly the food wasnt ready. The "complicated" entrees: 3 fish and chips and a caesar salad! Yes, we had reservations. No, it wasnt crowded when we got there. We were seated next to where band was setting up and objected that it would be too noisy. Dont worry, we were told, they dont start until 9 pm. Who would think an hr. and a half later wed STILL be waiting for our food? A party of ten came in after us, were served, ate and left before everyone at our table were served. One of our party had to get up and get utensils for the table. He also asked to speak to the manager, but were told there was no manager there-on a Sat. night. He did speak to Tracy (or maybe Trisha, the band was so loud, it was hard to hear anything), who apologized-that didnt help things. She deducted the cost of my salad after I refused it-too aggravated to eat. After we got the bill one of our party (thanks Adam) asked to speak to Tracy again about the bill. She deducted the cost of 2 fish & chips dinners and said that was all she could do. This was a benchmark. Any awful dining experience will be measured by, "Was it as bad as Green Leafe?" I can hardly imagine the answer being "Yes." This cafe deserves a review from me for "0" stars.

My husband and I dined at the new location in New Town and I dont know why people thought this place was so great. Our server was terrible - hardly acknowledged us even though she was also serving the table next to us. It took her forever to get our table to get our drink orders, and two minutes after we ordered, she forgot what my husband asked for. The food, although pretty good, was really nothing to rave about. The chicken I ordered to go on top of my salad was not worth the $3 we paid for it. It was like they only used half a chicken breast and cut it up really small. Its also very, very noisy in there, and it seems to be more of a college hang-out than a place for older adults who are over the college scene. The parking situation wasnt very well thought out. You have to walk around the block just to get to the front door of the place, and some of the parking is reserved for residents instead of patrons. I plan on calling the manager and letting him/her know how unhappy we were with the service. And the ONLY reason Im giving it 2 stars is because the food didnt taste like you-know-what.

I visited the Green Leafe Cafe on 10/26/2009 - escaped with four business colleagues from a work event for some food, fun & beer. As a vegetarian, its often difficult for me to find anything but a salad at most restaurants - but Green Leafe offered vegetarian choices for me. I considered the veggie pizza, but went instead with the grilled portabello mushroom wrap. It was delightful and flavorful. Another bonus was being able to order potato salad instead of fries. My colleagues ordered the ribs (licked the plate clean), a burger (which was greatly enjoyed) and cajun pasta and all seemed to enjoy their meals. We played a little round-robin trivia, drank some beers (I had bourbon - Basil Hayden, neat) and enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. The service was also friendly and prompt. Great experience!

The food left much to be desired.I ordered a Aztec salad which according to the menu came with diced tomatoes, two different types of cheese, black beans, corn, onions in a tortilla shell.I was very disappointed when my salad arrived with wilted, lettace, topped with huge rings of red onion and salsa. I had to send it back for cheese and when I asked where the black beans and corn were they said it was" mixed in" with the salsa. If I had known it was salsa atop lettace I would not have ordered it. The other meals in our party were also sub par and everyone was dissatisfied by the entrees from the kitchen that night. The only thing good were the buffalo wings we got for appetizer. It might be a good place to get some beer, wings and watch a game but definitly not for a meal.

The reviews for this place are really picky! But of course Im saying that as someone who went to college at W&M for 4 years and learned not to expect much in the way of cool restaurants near campus. It depends on what server you get (whether you get stuck with a newbie or a veteran) and such, and it can get pretty crowded especially on weekends, so service can be on the slow side sometimes. BUT food is good, and they just revamped their menu to include a bunch of AWESOME burgers. The beer selection is pretty good. Dont go on weekend nights if youre not a fan of loud places. Do go if you like good beer, good food, good prices, and a local vibe. Oh, and trivia on Mondays is pretty fun.

The beer is superb, the staff is great, the food is inexpensive and portions are large. I dont know how you make it any better. We stopped by on our Williamsburg walk on Wednesday since it is near the end of the walk and we needed a break. We had lunch and I asked if i could buy one of the tshirts that the staff was wearing, each with a different quote. No luck - there were none available in my size. As we were leaving, the bartender called to me and as I went back to the bar, he gave me the shirt that he had been wearing, saying that he could get another one no problem. I was amazed - he had literally given me the shirt off of his back! This place is No. 1 in my book!

this is the second time I have dined at this restaurant. the service was as bad this time as last time. I ordered an unsweet iced tea, which my server never bothered to refill, even when the ice melted before I was half done with it. my husband waited about 20 minutes to see a beer menu. when he finally received the drink menu, he was so upset with the wait time that he refused to order dinner. I ordered the fish and chips, which was more chips than fish (about a plate full of french fries and two small fish). not worth the $16 they charged for it. I have had better food and service in various pubs I have visited. bad service does not call for a third chance.

Came to this bar for an after-concert hang the other night. We had the distinct pleasure of listening to live music the entirety of our stay. Unfortunately, the music was so loud that we were barely able to hold a conversation with the person directly next to use, let alone the other 8 people at our table. Service was incredibly slow. I spoke with our waiter only once to order drinks, and then he took far too long to return with our drinks. Then, only half of our group was given the opportunity to order food. I hadnt eaten dinner and was starving. I was shocked when food suddenly arrived for the other half of our group, not having been asked myself.
