My family just moved to Williamsburg and have been trying to find the best places to eat and go for our family. We tried the Chophouse after going to Ripleys and was greeted by a host on July 24th around 6:30 with the worst attitude. We had to ask him if they were seating even though he was leaning against the wall looking at us. They were not crowded yet and we were surprised to be seated in the back with a half booth in the corner. He gave us our menus without a word and walked off. He then walked by us several times along with wait staff and no one ever acknowledged our presence. We waited, washed our hands in the restroom (since we were right beside it) and waited. We finally decided to leave after no one seemed to care if we were waited on. We know people were aware since our seats had great views of the staff entrance and restroom hall. We finally got up to leave and my husband went to the host to tell him of our disappointment. He argued with him about how long we had waited and said, "oh well...." Obviously, an owner is not overseeing this host who turns off diners as soon as they arrive. We went down the street to Longhorn where they served us promptly and courteously. People are griping about the lower attendances at restaurants and events....remember, service goes a long way for those of us who are local looking for good spots to frequent and still want to eat out. I hope the owner keeps a closer eye....we will definitely not be back and take our monies elsewhere.

We were looking for a place to have my parents 50th Wedding Anniversary~ we went into Fireside Chophouse and asked about having a large number of people, how they could accommodate us, etc. Brian was awesome from the first moment we met him at the door telling us what they could do for us~ where they could seat our large party~ about how they could help with the cake etc. We thought this was great! We booked on the spot because his personality really fitted what we wanted for that evening. He was fun and caring. So the night of the big part came~ I was very nervous about the number of people we had- how they could serve so many guests at once, etc...~ well Brian was awesome as well as the host that evening~ nothing could have gone any better. They made our entire large family feel welcome~ Brian greeted each person with the love and attention you would feel entering his own home Im sure. This was the best meal I have had in Williamsburg- and I plan on going back and asking for Brian to be my waiter! Thank you for making my parents 50th Wedding Anniversary Special- you guys are awesome!!

I went here after going shopping and it was absolutely terrible. They first give you a menu thats laminated on a one page times roman font menu. Thats one page laminated with nothing on the back. Then the glasses and plates are from the dollar store. When the side salad arrives it hardly nothing, you couldnt even put that on a sandwich. I ordered a shrimp cocktail for $8.95 and it came out with 4 shrimp, come on man! Then the seafood platter for 19.95 came out with 2 shrimp, 1 crab cake, 2 scallops, and 1 piece of fried Talapia. The crab cake had 40% filler and 60% crab. The seafood platter was way to small. The appetizers were clearly taken from the freezer and fried. These portions were small as well. Then I got my bill for $95.00 for three people and ran out the door after I paid for it. This by far was the worst seafood restaurant I have ever been to. Captain Ds is not a restaurant but they run circles around these crooks. Dont turn into the driveway, run while you have chance.

I very rarely go and complain on a review...but the food here was really bad...I had the broiled "jumbo" shrimp...not really jumbo and might have been broiled but there was no color and it was like rubber...my girls got a jr steak and ny strip and there was also no color on the meat...it was gray and full of fat and gristle...my husband got a pork chop it was square (never saw a pork shop this shape) and again there was no color unless grayish white is a color...and it was like the steaks leather tough...the get them before their gone mashed potatoes tasted like they were made with dish water...they didnt even stay on the fork you would need a spoon if you even wanted to eat them....the only good thing there was the server was very nice...so nice that we just told him we werent hungry when he asked why we didnt eat anything...much better places to eat in Williamsburg esp at that price point

I dont know what people are rating this good. I got a ny strip with a back potato and macaroni with a side salad. The salad was pathetic and the dressing had no flavor. The baked potato was partial burnt and did not have a good flavor even with butter, sour cream and salt. Then the overly priced steak was horrible. Had no flavor at all. Was like eating paper or cardboard. Used salt and pepper just to give it something. My wife had the penne pasta and she said she tasted basically more noodle than sauce and had no flavor. The Mac and cheese was good. The bright spot for us was we had a very lovely waitress who was from Romania and I think her name was Alana. She was super sweet and was working her butt off. I would stay away from this place. Food no where near worth the price and these rating have to be fakes or friends of the workers because this was god awful...

On vacation and was told by several locals that this is the place to go if you love prime rib. The food was great, one of the best prime ribs I have ever had. My mom asked for sweet tea, which they only offer unsweetened. Which is not really a problem as there is sugar on the table. Yet, out waiter Winford made some sweet tea for her anyway. I know it does not seem like a big deal, but to spend a few minutes to put sugar in tea and make a customer happy with no fuss is hard to find now a days. No offence to the rest of the staff, the also seemed just as customer friendly abd ready to take care of all dining needs. Kudos to the owner and staff, keep up the great work.

Worst atmosphere ever. Service was terrible, ran out of drinks multiple times. Manager of the front of the house was loud, abrupt and openly disparaged his servers. Found evidence of soap scum and other residue around the rims of the drinking glasses. Appetizer was the spinach artichoke dip which was served with cool almost cold Lays type chips, couldnt they throw some brioche drizzled with EVOO and cracked pepper in the broiler? Main course was their prime rib...awesome preparation, skillfully slow roasted to perfection. Advice to all, "Get it To-Go". The food is the same, and your meal can be enjoyed in a friendlier environment.
