Have lived near this place for two years and finally got around to stopping in. The food was fresh, tasty, and in good porportion. The chips were alright, but the salsa stole the show. My wife had the Ranchero (something or another) it was really wonderful. I had the Chicken Enchiladas and the chicken was outstanding. My kids had the Quessadilla, the Taco Salad, and the burger. All reports came back with thumbs up. I tried all of them and they were exceptionally good. Finally we ordered some Sopapillas for desert. They were really good with a wonderful honey sauce, infused with cinamon and sugar...again...excellent. For the beer lovers, I had a draft Dos Equis. A good sized beer. The mug was cold and the beer tasted perfect so I am sure the draft lines are well maintained. For sure this goes on our regular list of restaurants.

While the food quality is good, every dish we ordered was very bland. Nothing had any flavors more complex than chicken and the tortilla. The mole sauce tasted like bbq sauce & ketchup mixed together ... runny and poorly made. The ground beef in the nachos supreme was very gross, bordering on dog food. The staff is nice and service was quick. So if you like plain, simple, foods you will enjoy it. Don Pablos is much better for food with flavor. A quote from the table next to us sums it up perfectly... "Pretty good, but it doesnt taste like Mexican food."

Tried it a couple of times a few years ago and was not impressed. A friend said that it was much improved so we tried it again. Service was excellent and fast. Chips and salsa were fine. The $5 margarita had an off taste - not worth sending back, but not a typical margarita. Had the four-enchilada meal. Each enchilada was about the diameter of my thumb. The refried beans were like thick soup, and not a bean to be seen. Ho-Hum. With all the competition in the local restaurant business, itll be a while before we go back.

Within 30 seconds of being seated, we had chips and salsa on our table! 30 seconds after that, we had menus and our drink order was taken. Great service! I asked Victor, our waiter, for some Tapatio to add to my rather mild salsa and since they didnt have that he brought over some high octane salsa that just lit my ass on fire. I was a happy camper! The restaurant is well lit with quite a festive decor and very upbeat. Salvador also helped out at our table and he was very nice.

Food is good, standard Mexican restaurant fare. We ordered something with pineapple which clearly ws grilled from a can but the peppers and onions were grilled well. Like most Mexican places, stick with beef, chicken or pork and steer clearer of the seafood. They have a delicious cheese sauce I recommend. Most visits the chips and salsa are good. This past Saturday visit the chips were a pinch stale. Great service, fun place, good for kids.

Try the Burrito Cancun!!!! This is my favorite Mexican resturant in Northern Virginia. Everything I eat here is delicious I just wish the service was a bit better. The staff seems a bit slow and appeared "put out" everytime you ask for something like the check or more drink. Do not order the tea!! The unsweetened taste nasty like soap and the sweet tea is that fountain nestle tea. Get the house Margarita instead. :)

Food was good but the service horrible. I asked for green salsa and never got it. I ran out of the other salsa. I ran out of beer. I only had one because no one checked on me. Not during my whole meal. I had to go to the front to ask for my ticket. I asked to see the manager and found out he was my waiter. He had no explanation, offered no discount and only muttered "sorry." Never going back

It was my husband birthday and I wanted to surprise him....I reserved a table for 10 people and asked if I could bring a cake before the time of the reservation. They were so nice and said that I could do that. When we got there they had the table ready and they where very nice and always checking on us to see if we needed something. The waitress are so nice. I will be back!

Such a great place. Nova is seriously lacking tasty Mexican food regardless of texmex, new Mexican or anything else. Los Toltecos is a great place with seriously tasty food, generous portions, and very nice staff. Ive never had a bad meal here and the lunch menu cannot be beat! All the food Ive had here has been great, but the carnitas and fajitas are my favorite.

Between this location and the Fairfax location, the Toltecos in Sterling beats Fairfax hands down. Excellent customer service, great deals on margaritas, delicious food, and the staff is very friendly and attentive. Highly recommed Toltecos in Sterling to anyone who loves some good nachos, tacos, burritos, and a margarita. Definitely try the mango daiquiri!

Note these reviews occur before mid-2011, when they suddenly began charging $3.50 for an extra serving of chips and salsa. Thats right - $3.50 if you want some more chips with your meal. As a loyal Toltecos customer for over 4 years - this should be a five star rating - but until this loser of a policy is changed - just cant go back. So sad.

I thought this place was going to be another TexMex American Mexican food dive, but I was very surprised. Their food is much like real Mexican food and was all very very good. It was so good I went back two days in a row. My family lives in Mexico and I know good Mexican food. Great prices and all of the food was great!

Credit Card FRAUD ALERT - Ripped off $90.02 I have been going here for years - Just had a very bad experience. They charged my credit card by $90.02 + the regular dinner. This is STEALING. The General manager of the place is a rip off artist - Denies wrong doing!. Dont pay with a credit card.. YOU WILL BE Ripped OFF.

It all starts with the chips and salsa for me! Here you will not be disappointed... Service was great too! The food was pretty good, but the cost to value was probably the only thing that took a ding (more closely to a half a star). Definitely would come again!
