Good prices for standard breakfast fair, if you can get them to serve you. We waited for more than an hour for our order and it was not that crowded. If the food was fantastic, I might overlook the service, but its mediocre at best. When we finally did get our food, it was cold. The waitress gave us a mild apology and moved on. Additionally, I found a dead roach on the floor in the ladies room and neither of the cooks had hats on. There were no warmers for food that was already cooked, so people were being served food that had not been kept to proper temperature. Id be surprised if this place paced a surprise sanitation inspection.

I would have given 4.7 if I could have. I would deduct three tenths for putting my jelly containers on my potatoes. I dont think they washed those containers. Service was perfect. Veggie omelet was great. Potato portion was small. Clean facility. Friendly. Cant go wrong with a visit here.

Friendly little roadside diner. Everything was served hot and fresh and despite a full dining room, reasonably quickly. The coffee was good and the home fries deserve special mention. Eggs were cooked the way we ordered them--over medium.

This little place would be easy to miss, but were so glad we found it! The food was delicious and inexpensive, staff was friendly and the restaurant clean. What more can you ask for? Id recommend this place to anyone!

Open for lunch only except for a couple days so call first. The food really is great, and cheap! Its a favorite for lunch. The burgers and fries are awesome, the crab cake sandwich is decent.

A great place for a quick lunch. There is not much in Madison that provides anything but fast food so the Mountaineer is a great alternative.
