Originally I had high hopes for this restaurant since I am a big fan of Soul Food, but this restaurant did not do it for me. When you first walk in the restaurant is very dark. One of the servers saw my boyfriend and I standing at the front door waiting to be seated and she told us to seat ourselves and that she will be right with us. Looking around, all of the tables were either occupied or had not been cleaned yet. The only "clean" table that was available was very sticky. Finally the waitress moved us to a different table and cleaned it with windex. She then told us the food on the menu that they did not have (which was a lot). After looking at the menu, I realized that they did not have anything on there that was soul food. Everything was mostly Caribbean food, which I did not mind. I ordered the shrimp curry with rice and my boyfriend got a bbq sampler meal. After waiting about 45 minutes for our food, it finally came. Although my food tasted good they gave me too much rice. I can honestly say that they gave me a solid pound of just white rice with 5 little shrimp on top. For $14.95 I was expecting more shrimp instead of all that rice. Also while I was eating, I noticed that no one ever bussed any of the tables. Even though my meal tasted good, I would not go back there because of the slow service and dirtiness of the restaurant.

After ordering and watching two tables order, eat, pay and go, all we could get for waiting 60 minutes for our meals was "sorry" after "sorry." Now that is fine, and alone can be easily brushed aside but this just snowballed, but ask about compensation or taking something off "we cant do that." After discussing that issue and hearing it was a lost ticket in the kitchen "sorry" was all we were going to get, though things got testy when they said they opened at twelve and doubted it was an hour wait (mind you my watch now read 1:20 and we had just gotten our food ten minutes ago). So we got free ice teas. I asked who the owner was and if I could speak to them, relatively politely then, and they pointed the person out right next to me, and of course the owner completely ignored me. Now that is customer service and really put the coup dgrace on this whole bizzare experience. Food rated at best "ok" for the price but if something goes wrong, caveat emptor. *Oh AND they were out of one thing and said would replace with coleslaw, and then they were out of cole slaw when the plate came, maybe there was extra fries? who knows by that point.

Waited for 35 minutes to get a menu... because they were "short" on menus... however, we were one of three tables in a 15 table restaurant. During our wait, someone in the kitchen was hacking their lungs up at a ridiculous volume and it sounded disgusting. After we finally received menus after another family entered after us recieved theirs, the waitress took about 15 minutes to come to us and see what we wanted to eat. We decided to pay for our drinks and leave. At least they told us to have a good night as we walked out.

The food was fantastic, a great end to a day of hiking. Our waiter was very personable and fabulous; he chatted with us and made us feel at home. The service was quick. The menu had lots of choices. We had the wings, which were drizzled with balsamic vinaigrette, and seemed as though an iron chef had prepared it. We also enjoyed our entrées. We would definitely recommend this place, and would go there again if ever in the area.

I have to say that todays visit was not up to par. The burger was about 2" round and overdone, the sandwich had too much curry and we ordered vegetables but they were out and did not tell us - instead brought us our meals without the vegetables. Overall I was very disappointed with our lunch and will reconsider before returning to Soul Mountain. Very sad as usually everything is wonderful.

Was going to go to Cracker Barrel and am I glad I didnt! What a pleasure. Had curry chicken and crab cake, parents enjoyed wonderful salads and turkey wrap. Food was delicious and I am picky! Staff very friendly and pleasant. I highly recommend and would drive from DC again just to go there. They have an extensive menu, atmosphere is low key and casual. Excellent place.

Service took forever, which I wouldnt mind because we werent in a rush but it definitely was not worth the wait. The kale was so salty it was inedible. They were out of half the things I tried to order and it seems like their menu is trying to do too much but doesnt do it well. Best things was the fries. Also dont watch the kitchen, hygiene might worry you....

The best restaurant in Front Royal!! Incredible and Eclectic, Gourmet Bistro Food with a Soul Flare, and cooked to your liking! A real treat for my birthday meal while visiting my children. As a Vegetarian, there were many options and unique sides to choose from. We have already decide to make a it a regular event when Im in town. Absolutely Superb!!!

Skyline Drivers,stop by this cafe on your way home! We had a fantastic lunch. The jerk chicken wrap was perfectly seasoned and the BBQ surf and turf was delicious! The menu has a perfect soul variety. The homemade tomato soup was delicious and the home baked corn bread was a great! A hidden gem with great people and an inviting atmosphere!

Food was decent but the service was terrible. Food took an hour and forty minutes to arrive. After we are we asked for the bill and after waiting for thirty more minutes we just ballparked our total and left cash on the table. This may have been a one off but my experience is the food isnt nearly good enough to make up for the service.

This place may look like a "hole in the wall" restaurant. But the atmosphere is amazingly friendly and they probably have some of the best food in front royal. The flavors are amazing and EVERYTHING on their menu is delicious! You can tell the cook and the workers take pride in what they serve and make!

Awful service, server had no idea what fish they even used, draft hose broken so forced to buy bottled beer Ingredients in orders that werent listed. Brought out a cup with flavored creamer when we asked for cream in coffee...sure did not live up to the reviews we read!

This place used to be good, but I suspect it had changed hands because the last time we went there it was atrocious. The menu was very limited and we waited forever to get served and when the food came it was poorly presented and not at all good. I will never go back.
