The porchetta sandwich might just be the most perfect sandwich in existence. Also, I appreciate so much that they are open until midnight. Ive been in to Lampo with my boyfriend for a more romantic multi course dinner, sat at the bar with a friend for a drink and pizza and this was when I was then introduced to the masterpiece of the porchetta. Which I now crave constantly and if I am off work late and hungry I will stop in to treat myself to the most perfect crust folded with melted fresh mozzarella, broccolini, garlic aioli, an Italian chili and house made porchetta. For anyone that doesnt know what this is: {Porchetta is an Italian pork belly (think thick bacon) generally wrapped around a butterflied pork tenderloin, rolled with savory herbs and goodness}... Yes... Now isnt your mouth watering? The chocolate pudding is to die for as well, with a salted hazelnut brittle. I loved the cauliflower dish, the beets, and you cannot go wrong with any of the pizzas. Really, you cant go wrong with anything on the menu. The staff is attentive and helpful, easygoing and friendly. I love lamp.o

Best pizza in Virginia. Ive been coming here since the soft opening and continue to eat/drink here a few nights/week. When weather is good the patio is so nice and relaxing while enjoying the food and wine. The place only seats about 22 inside, and 22 outside (almost double inside when patio is closed). Staff is superb. The place is almost always packed. No reservations. On the weekend the wait can be 2+ hours. Early and late are the best times. Lunch is much mellower, but can still be busy. If you are in Charlottesville, this is a place you need to go. Many times.

Very simply, Lampo is outstanding. Having been to Italy innumerable times and eaten good pizza, bad pizza and so-so pizza Lampo ranks with the highest. The Neapolitan style thin crust is done just right, the ingredients are delicious, our server was delightful and its all about the owners attitudes. I chatted with one of the co-owners, Loren Mendosa, and this was his goal, to be the best. And, according to Loren, theyre not done yet. They can certainly consider us a local regular.

I dont say this lightly- I believe I had the best pizza Ive ever had at Lampo. It was the mushroom pizza, and it was perfect. Something magical happens in that oven, and they use amazing ingredients. I also enjoyed a plate of fresh mozzarella and prosciutto, along with another special that I cant even remember- it was amazing. Its a very small place, so be prepared to wait for an open table, but its totally worth it- amazing!!

Soul less. Hope they lose their shirt for a while... gave me some line about no to-go orders AFTER I told them I had a child in the ER, was from out of town, had driven there from the hospital and just needed a good meal for the family waiting in the pediatric waiting room. Really? You could not make an exception - because your food doesnt travel well...way to bring up the neighborhood Lampo.

Visited here based on some local recommendations and boy was I impressed! Small place with a big impact! This is a tapas (small plates) style restaurant and seems to have daily features. I ordered the beet salad which was pretty good bit nothing special. Then the pizza came... oh my! Fresh, authentic, and cooked to perfection! Minus a half-star for having to cut the pizza yourself

Great Pizza and salads. The restaurant interior is tiny so you cant always swing it but if you can sit inside. They have the crazy wood burning oven from Italy that they flew in and had to remove the roof of the building to get inside. The oven gets insanely hot, it cooks a pizza in under a minute. Watching it makes for a great show to go along with your dinner.

I must be missing something... I came to this tiny little place and waited around for a table to open up because everyone says this place is great. Once my table was ready we sat down in the cramped dining area and ordered a $15 dollar pizza. The pizza came out with almost no cheese, no flavor and was fairly small for 15 bucks. No thanks.

Effing delicious. The picanha steak was perfect with the chimichurri, just the right amount of char to give it a satisfying crunch, every morsel was tender and evenly cooked. The provolone was delicate and nuanced, Id cut the rind away, thinking that my wife may not enjoy it, and upon sampling, we ate every bite. The roasted garlic was dope.

Walked with my 2 daughters from Belmont for a beautiful fall night on the town. Lampo was lovely. There was a wait, but we had great conversations with others who were waiting too. We enjoyed some really nice olives and the margherita and abruzzo pizze. It was delightful, charming and casual. The food is legit artisan and delicious.

Best pizza in cville. Cant give it any higher praise than that. Im particularly talking about the Hellboy(I think thats what it was called) pizza, which is what happens when you throw awesome onto fantastic and bake it for a few minutes. They also have an excellent meat ball sub thing if youre into that kind of thing.

I was a little worried about the thin crust, tiny Italian menu, and having to sit outside with our kids in the hotness that is VA summer. But Lampo delivers on all fronts. Amazing, delicious, Neopolitan pizza, great wine and beer selection, and a kind staff changed my mind. Just come, you wont be disappointed.

What a hidden gem for Charlottesville- Everything is excellent here, we went twice in the 5 days that we were in town. Close your eyes, put your finger down and order what it lands on, you will not be disappointed. Loren, thank you again for your hospitality.

Really very very good Pizza, simple and delicious, amazing how good simple fresh ingredients can be, & the price is reasonable. Recommend for a date night, friends meeting up, or a family night. Cozy atmosphere inside, cant wait for the patio to be opened.

This is the real deal. Superb pizza served by friendly staff. The place is tiny, so either get here early or be prepared to wait. Pizza this good should always be eaten fresh out of the oven. Theres ample seating outdoors when the weather is seasonable.

Simply awesome! Dont stop at the pizza either, their sandwiches are amazing! I also really like that they have Potters Craft Cider on Tap - Great Italian and great drinks and great friends! Thanks for investing in the area Lampo!

Cozy neopolitan pizza spot that you normally have to wait to be seated. Its worth the wait. The pizza is served with scissors and is always good. Salads, sandwiches and cured meats round out the menu. Easily the best pizza in town.

Every town needs a Lampo! The food and the cocktails are in the top 5 for our area, easily. The space is super tiny (the bar seats less than 10) and there is usually a wait, so go early or late and be prepared to be awed.
