Let me start off by stating that Im not a particular person nor am I in anyway intolerent to certain circumstances. I completely understand that when its busy you have to wait. I am acutely aware that servers are people too. I had gone to both the Murray and City Creek locations in the last month by the request of a friend. Pros. 1. Our waiter was nice at the City Creek location. That is when we saw him. 2. The building is very cool except the Murray location is painfully dark. Cons. 1. Be prepared to wait. Wait for everything. Your turn, you to be seated, your waiter to finally make it over, your bread, your entries and your check. Expect 15+ minutes between each of those. Which is very inconvenient at City Creek with the timed parking garages. 2. You will recieve no instructions and you will have the hostess be completely dismissive of you as even a human being. At both locations. 3. When your waiter finally comes around they will be very pushy recommending the extremely pricy dishes and pushing drinks onto you if you refuse muiltiple times. 4. Youre going to pay for alright food. Its nothing to trash on but I wouldnt say eating here was even close to delicious. Even their cheesecake is topped with canned aerosol whiped cream. Yesterday we dined at the location in City Creek. It was very busy and we waited our 30 minutes and came to the front desk. The hostess took our vibrating notifier and gave no further instructions. After 10 minutes I reached to at least look at the menus because it didnt seem like we were even going to get to a table for some time. The hostess promptly snatched the menus directly from my hands and slammed them back on the table telling me to wait without even bothering to look at me. She didnt even explain to me in the first place the situation or inform me that a server was going to move is to a table. When the runner finally came to take us to our table she repeatedly yelled over me at my butched name of Jessie to "Jessa". I was maybe a foot from her and I had to practically yell into her face. She gave me a distgusted look and quickly weaved in the crowd leaving us without even bothering to look back. At this point I was fuming at their terrible customer service a simple "Sorry for the wait" or a "Oh I didnt see you there" could have made the experience much more tolerable. When we finally reached our "table" a tiny seat at the edge of a booth the hostess stood directly right in the way to our seat not considering to even move to the side. So I had to awkwardly shimmy around her to finally take a seat after almost 50 minutes of standing. She promptly left without ever speaking one word to us. Not even wishing us a good day. Our waiter was friendly at least. When we saw him. Just like the Murray location the servers on duty seemed to be completely understaffed. Taking 10-15 minutes to finally come around to us again and he was bustling around the whole time. When we finally ordered the wait for our food was agonizing slow. Another 30+ minutes to finally recieve our entries. Luckily the couple next to us had a very friendly baby to keep us entertained and me calm enough to not storm from the place. I was very disappointed because I had heard so many positive things about the company. Every single person had told me that they loved the place thats why I gave it a second chance but I will never go back. I hope everyone else got those amazing experiences I was told about because driving an hour+ to these locations for this type of experince has ruined these locations for me forever. I just wanted to share my experience so that others might be saved the same disappointment.

Great food, great service from the wait staff - Manager was passive aggressive. My wife and I stopped by the Cheesecake Factory on 16DEC2016 at about 2pm for lunch at the City Creek Mall in SLC, Utah. She had the chicken and couscous and i had the Kobe burger (which was outstanding). Our server was knowledgeable and promptly answered our questions about the dishes we placed under consideration before we ordered, and when we did order - they were out in a very reasonable amount of time. I never had to ask for a drink refill: Be proactive on this servers, and you will be well compensated for your efforts. During our meal, the manager came out to our table and asked me if my 360 camera (that was mounted in a tripod and sitting on the table so I wouldnt kick or sit in it) was recording video. I told her it wasnt and she said that she didnt care...but corporate would. I found this odd that Cheesecake Factory corporate doesnt allow recording video inside the restaurant. One would think that recording memories and events would be encouraged. I assured her that I was not recording video and showed her that the camera was off by turning it on, showing her the blue LEDs and then turning it back off. I told her that I could place the camera on the floor under the table or on the chair next to me if it was a concern. She said it wasnt her...it was corporate that had the problem, and left. After this interruption by the manager, we went back to conversation and enjoying our meal. A few minutes later, 2 of the waitstaff started taping pieces of paper on the glass separator (level with the camera sensor and lens) apparently to attempt to block the recording that the manager had insisted I was doing. My wife got pissed off and grabbed the camera and shoved it under the table. The wait staff (a very nice young woman and young man) said they were tasked by the manager to, block the recording of how we cook our food. That is paraphrasing, but she seemed embarrassed that she was tasked to carry out this objective. To be honest - I was embarrassed for her. When I asked her (the wait staff) why the manager didnt object that the camera was on the table after I asked her if she would feel more comfortable if I placed the camera under the table, she said, "Oh my God, the manager said you were trying to video record how we prepare our dishes, Im so sorry!" I had the Kobe Burger. It isnt rocket science how to cook a hamburger. You cook it, flip it, cook it then eat it. Im not sure why Kobe burger flipping is a secret at Cheesecake Factory...but it was a pretty damn good hamburger. While we wont be coming back to Cheesecake Factory...it isnt because the food is bad, or the wait staff is incompetent. It is because Cheesecake Factory corporate hired a passive aggressive manager that believes people are trying to record how the food is made, and is not genuine when interacting with customers.

The interior design was about the only good thing about this place. I rarely leave bad reviews, but I felt this location really needed some criticism. I have been to the Cheesecake Factory before in many different different locations and states. It has always been a place that I have enjoyed going and had a good experience, but this location was far from that. The first problem was lack of organization. We came in to ask how long the wait was. I expected a wait and we were fine with it, cause we knew they did not do reservations after 5. So we got there and told them our party size and they said it would be an hour. So we went and shopped around and came back to check in an hour and they told us it would be another hour!! So we came back in another hour and they said were just waiting for the table to be cleaned off and you can go in. It took another 40 minutes for them to "clean off the table". Like I said, I was totally fine with a wait, but be up front about how long the wait is going to be! Thats fine! Get organized. When we got in, it was passed 10 oclock and didnt seem all that busy. There were many waiters and employees standing in groups talking to each other and many tables open. We needed a high chair for my son. It took us asking 3 different people to get us a high chair. Almost 20 minutes of asking for a high chair. So when our food came we were extremely disappointed! Like I said, Cheesecake Factory is one of our go-to places and the food is usually huge portions and beautifully seasoned. My wife ordered the salmon and replaced her two sides with two sides of broccoli. I wish I would have taken pictures. Her plate came out and there were like 5 little pieces of broccoli with her piece of salmon. When we asked about it, he said that was two sides. So I paid twenty dollars for a piece of salmon with almost nothing else. I ordered a pasta dish that I have ordered befor. There was almost no sauce on it and they forgot to put the chicken in it. So I again paid 20 dollars for a bowl of unseasoned pasta with almost no sauce and a little plate of chopped up chicken that he brought out later that looked like they just threw it in a frying pan with no seasoning and let it cook til it was white. It was all very bland. I would have asked for a whole new meal, but we were there celebrating an event for another family member and we needed to leave to get our kids to bed so I didnt want to wait another 20 minutes for a replacement meal. I guess after it all we did get some cheesecake and it was very good. So that is one thing they had going for them. But it is good at any location. The rest of this location was a joke. Hope they can get things figured out, but in the mean time I will be making the drive down to Murray at the fashion place mall if I am looking to go to the Cheesecake Factory again in Utah.
