Ive been visiting in Salt Lake for just over a week and Ive stopped here three times, when normally Id try a new place everyday. Everything Ive ordered has been great; I really recommend their "red hot white" which is a white mocha made with rooibos tea instead of espresso. Delicious! I also loved the super porridge, and they have several varieties of tamales that were tasty. Theres several choices for loose leaf tea, including mate done In the traditional way. I was so impressed with the ambiance! Theres a definite multicultural atmosphere which I found really lovely. Even more so is the obvious support by the owner(s) of local talent and causes: theres a relatively large gallery space where a local artist had paintings hanging. Most of the time you can sit there with your coffee, and on certain days of the week theres live music. While I was there a tango class was going on, and another day a violin class? I also saw postings for different groups that meet there as well. This coffee shop is really making a difference in its neighborhood and community. Theres plenty of seating options and many people stay for awhile reading, working, or meeting with friends. If you are one who needs a very quite place for work or study, this may not always be the place for you because of the occasional burst of tango music or someone practicing the piano. I personally loved it, but I was just there to relax. The only other small downside is that the small parking lot has a two hour maximum, and I got the vibe that the owner will confront someone about that if they blatantly disregard the maximum. Id been there for maybe six hours when he asked me about my car; he had no way of knowing that Id been there that long because my car was in the shop down the street after a fender bender that morning. He was a bit brusk, but Im sure the parking can become a real issue, plus with how much I loved everything else about the place it was easy to let it go. I came back twice after and had nothing but great experiences. I definitely plan to stop here whenever Im in Salt Lake! This kind of gem makes me wish I was a local.

One of the only coffee shops west of I-15 and its one of the best. Period. Great menu of teas, coffee, smoothies and more. Try the Mad Delight, Mexican mocha, or a smoothie. Their food menu isnt huge but everything they made is delicious and fresh. Try the turkey bacon sandwich or the super porridge. The baristas are all awesome people that love the art of coffee and are fun. Tip the baristas well, people! The atmosphere is unique too. Very chill. They have open mic night every Wednesday and its a fun place to hang out at night, especially on their outdoor seating area in summer.

I have been exploring coffee shops to find a good place to drink chi and study and I FOUND IT! THIS IS IT!!!! Best Soy Chi I have ever had. MMMmmmmhhhhh. Seriously better then any starbucks. Really Friendly and they bring in live music sometimes. I like the fact that they bring in many cultures. They also have a very good energy vibe inside. Comfy couches and nice art work. very cozy place to chill. The only bad thing was it was kinda expensive. 5.06 for a Soy Chi. I usually find them for like 3 or 4 dollars. But the taste of it wins by far.

This place is so "not utah", not that thats a bad thing or good thing, but when you walk in it feel so different than anyplace in town. It has this Latin Bohemian style and an amazing gallery that closes off when performances take place. Also, you cannot get a Mexican Mocha anywhere but here! The staff is cool and fun and "Mac" can make latte art! its just one of those places you can curl up and read a good book, or write, or meet, or just enjoy the music and interesting drinks and desserts, like the chocolate covered jalepeno...seriously!

Mestizo is about so much more than just coffee. The coffee is great, but what makes Mestizo my favorite place in the valley to get a cup is the mission and passion behind what they do. They are bringing the arts and culture of the west side into an organized space where all can enjoy. They have been struggling with the construction over the past couple of years, so make your way down there for an amazing cup of coffee for a great cause!

Ill come back here for the people, though the coffee was able to come with me when I left and was truly awesome. Not only am I stoked to have this little gem within walking distance of my house, I have to say that the Mexican Mocha made my day so much better - and Ill be back soon for the Bloody Chai everyone is talking about! I love the location, the interior, and the super fun people who work and hang out there. See you all soon!!!

Good coffee and ambience. They sometimes forget that you ordered food, though, as they dont have enough people working, to keep track of all the orders. So expect to wait about 23 minutes for a ham, egg, and cheese croissant to not be made, and then make that sheepish walk back up to the register, explaining how you ordered food, and that they have forgotten your order. Good times.

So I have heard great things about this coffeehouse but when I went there, it was beyond the greatest words! They have yerba mate that you actually drink from a bombilla! It was so delicious, and I felt like reminiscing about living in Argentina while there. Its dangerous for me to live so close because Im gonna be there ALL the time now.

Been going there for 2 years. Now the coffee machine has been out of order for about a week. I still went there because I like the place. Outside is a parking area with a 2 hour limit that is reserved for all customers of the shops in the building. Yesterday I got kicked out by the owner because I had parked there for 2.5 hours,

The worst. The owner and the barista are assholes. Ive been coming for six years and they kicked me out for using the bathroom without buying anything once. I was called "a fool" by the barista and he didnt even give me a chance to buy a coffee, becoming hostile towards me as I was waking out of the bathroom.

I was told by a friend to go to Mestizo and try their Mexican mocha, but when I got there I opted for another special instead: The Mad Delight. So good! And I even got an art design in the cup. Mestizo seems to have it goin on. Art on the walls (literally), art in their gallery, and art in my coffee cup.

I always love to stop buy and hang out for a while at Mestizo Coffee House. It feels like your living room when you are lucky and can catch a seat on the bug couch :) All coffees are awesome, non dairy milk available. My favorites are : Iced Moka with almond milk and espresso.

Amazing place for both coffee and light lunch/breakfast, the food was amazing and had some great vegitarian options! And the coffee was insane, greatest coffe I have ever had in salt lake, Im not in this area often but anytime Im in town ill be sure to make a stop here!!!
