Bump to Five Stars from Four. They never disappoint. Very good food. Decent prices. Good service. You get free, freshly made tortilla chips and salsa when you sit down. Both of which are very good. Their menu says its another $0.99 for a refill on the chips but after going at least 20 times I have never been charged for the extra chips. The food is great and it comes in large portions. It is some of the best authentic Mexican food you can find in Utah and that says a lot. Theyll go out of their way to make your food how you like it. Four stars only because the ambiance is slightly low budget. Perfect for a casual get together. Im also adding their Horchata to my list of favorite drinks ever. They make it fresh every day and its amazing.

I love this place and the food is amazing but I go here about twice a month with my girlfriend and we both order the same thing every single time! And we get stuck the waiter named Pedro and he ruins the while thing for me every time I ask for the hot salsa every time and he never brings it to me he has no manners doesnt say please, thank you ,or youre welcome. Just a horrible employee in my eye must be family or something. I just dont understand why I deal with the same person every time ordering the same exact thing every time! And he still is too dumb to get it right once! Great great food though and the owner is very nice and the hot salsa is the best when you actually have a waiter that will bring it to you when you ask...

I live out here in Magna. It is true, there are not very many selections to choose from when dining out, BUT El Habanero deserves a 5 star write up! This place is the place to go for delicious fresh food. I have never been disappointed each time we have dined in or out. The place is clean, check out the restroom, not even the best rated restaurants have this on them, the staff are always friendly, and attentive, and the order comes quickly, awesomely fresh and hot! Great place!

We used to come all of the time, but then the plate portions got smaller and that was a deal breaker for us. Unsure what happened but if the plate portions got big again, im sure wed start going back. We love supporting local businesses but we also have to ensure were getting our monies worth. The last couple of times we have gone, we had to order double portions for our kids, after realizing they dont get much.

Food was fine. I got the El Habanero burrito (I think it was a burrito). I assumed that since they had dishes like El Habanero, El Jalapeno and El Serrano that they would be seasoned with said pepper. I was prepared for spicy, but their was NO spice all all. It tasted fine, but there was no zing. I was a little disappointed, but dont let that stop you from having a decent, but very mildly spiced meal.

I dont know who is rating this resturant but it was the worst experiance Ive ever had. Food was disgusting service was bland and I tottally felt conned because after reading all these great reviews and expecting it to be decent. The only reason I even put one star is because it was required. Definenlty would try to stop anyone from going there. Not to be rude but just truely how I feel.

We have been coming here for years. Jems, the owner, is so friendly, as is the rest of the staff. The cochinita pibil is absolutely mouthwatering- tangy pork cooked in a banana leaf. They cook their chips in house, and they come to the table warm. The normal salsa is a little bland, but if you ask for some habanero salsa, they will bring a bowl of spicy, flavorful heaven.

If I could be given an option to not put a start I would have. Food very bland, poor service...not acknowledged until after eight minutes or so of waiting. Was busy for lunch and I understand, however a "be right with you goes a long way"...read reviews and decided to wait it out! Salsa tasted like catsup, sauces bland and taste as if they came from a can.

The best sit-down Mexican restaurant for miles around. Real quality food. They have some good deals on their lunch menu. If you get stuck all the way out on the West side, or live out there, then this is your best bet for decent food. Its no Red Iguana, but definitely to par with your standard fare of Mexican dining, and a little above average for sit in.

I loved El Habanero in the past but to close at 8pm on Friday and Saturday is a little sad.... one of the only sit down restaurants here, they should stay open a little later. Plus they really started to lack on giving you enough meat in your meal. My mom was visiting from Texas and noticed she had little to no meat on her tacos she ordered.

Went here on a business lunch. The company we took here raved about how good it was. The food was so so! However, the chips were excellent. Portions were small and they serve it on a huge plate? It would have fit on a paper plate. There was a total of 6 people. It took 5 minutes from the 1st plate to the last plate to receive our food.

My family and I just ate there and although the food was good, the portion was wayyy too small for how much it cost. My burrito looked more like a taco and cost $11. I would have rated 5 star if the quantity of food matched the price, but it isnt there yet. It looks like a few others have commented on the small portions and it is true.

We ordered the special of the day of Carne chimichonga with Chile Verde on top. Tasted okay. We waited almost 40 mintues from the time we placed our order before the food arrived. We watched other tables served and depart who arrived after we were seated. When our food did arrive there was no explanation or apology for the delay.

One of the friendliest and best Mexican Restaurants around. The food has and authentic taste and I have never been there when there wasnt at least 3 or 4 people there. It is usually full in the evenings. I love their chimichangas and the enchiladas. Service is always good. THey also have take out.

Love this place! Great atmosphere, and one of the only places to get food from the Yucatan area of Mexico. If you like spicy, ask the waiter to bring their spicy salsa that has habanero in it. The horchata is superb, and if you get a chance to speak with the owner, hes a great guy!

Service was horible and slow chips and salsa tasted store bought and quesadila with steak was missing the steaks and the bathrooms were a disaster. I would rather eat at the rancho market accross the stree el habanero more like el pile of dog sh**. Dont eat here
