This is a fantastic find less than a block away from the River Walk!!! Its a cozy little dive. Great people (thatll strike up conversation with), good service, cold drinks, and at affordable prices!! I normally park right up the street and had walked past this place before. Im very glad that we dropped in when we did. I have a feeling this is ganna start being our first stop before dropping in on River Walk from now on! Has some nice street side seating with a view for people watching and not to mention the horse carriages that traffic these streets near The Local Bar.

Great place, with a nice neighborhood feel. Prices are much better than on the River, and only a few steps away. Good mixed drinks. Good beers on tap. Friendly crowd, which is a mix of tourists, locals and area service people. Great place to stop for a little refreshment.

Nothing special other than its downtown. Music was not blaring loud, which was a nice change of pace coming from other bars/clubs downtown. Nice place to catch your breath, meet up with friends, before you hit your next bar.

One of the only bars in downtown San Antonio to have a patio. Plus the staff is excellent. Locals usually putting great music and bartenders serving stiff cocktail and well you cant say no to an ice cold beer

The Local Bar is a smaller bar, and they dont seem to keep their music as loud. We had a rather large party of about 12 people, and had no trouble keeping conversation. Both of the bartenders were superb.
