It was an interesting place I will definitely be going back at least one more time to sample more of their offerings. This was my first time there theyre very vast selection of beers from local craft breweries and they have also a nice selection same of Whiskeys and scotches. the food was tasty but a abet a little small and slightly overpriced I had a beef tongue you could call it a pastrami a Reuben sandwich that was really quite tasty it came on a nice marble rye . being a pastrami 10 day cured made of beef tongue it kind of melted in your mouth. I ordered a bacon and egg burger that came on a beautiful bun and it looked quite nice it had a nice aoli in the sandwich the Patty could have been a bit bigger. I think it was too small when you ask for a medium-rare burger and when the patties so small that you cant do a medium rare and its all brown all the way through then you might want to step up your meat game and it could have used just a little more seasoning but all in all it was a good experience . They served up some tasty fries but they were extra they did not come with the sandwich and again the order was a little small like I said a great beer selection. When I went its quite hot they have a beautiful outdoor section with games that you can play table Jenga the wait staff was nice all in all a good experience but I will have to go back and taste some of their other food. $70 for 2 people with two beers a piece and that was during happy hour I would say its a bit on the pricey side. The only thing that could probably make it a bit better would be some happy hour appetizers that could be shared at a lower price than the full meal price

Look, the atmosphere and the beer selection is impressive and some of the items on the menu are amazing! The waiters did a really good job with everything. BUT the reason why I cant give this establishment any thing higher than 3 stars, is that it simply doesnt deserve it. My girlfriend and I ordered the Rabbit Barbacoa Tacos and when it arrived the presentation looked impressive but we just didnt like it: nothing was special about it and we didnt feel like it was something we wanted to keep eating so we asked to exchange it for something else on the menu. Any respectable place in the World would cater to customer service and especially since we barely touched the plate, would understand that we simply didnt like it and wanted something else on the menu. INSTEAD the manager comes out and explains to us why he cant remove the item off our tabs because the people in the back hand-make the corn flower tortillas. We received a 2 min speech about how its his favorite item on the menu. A good manager would know that ultimately its all about customer service and doing right by your clients. This was my first time at Hoppy Monk, I am hesitant to go back again any time soon. The wings were amazing and my gf swears by their burger but your rabbit taco was overrated and not worth it. Ultimately your management staff should be trained to cater to customer needs and wants better, its not like we were there to get charity.

A true dedication to "the little guy", this independent public house is a breath of fresh air for everyone who wants to eat local, drink craft beer and liquors, and demands the best of it all. With all day Sunday brunch, I dont know why anyone one thinks about any other meal. The have savory, sweet, and drink options for everyone. Not only is brunch outstanding, their dinner menu is glorious too. The offerings range from a fresh take on traditional pub food (burgers, fish & chips) to Tex-Mex flavors (rabbit tacos, Ruben de lengua) as well as vegetarian (possibly vegan) options. The service is wonderful. Everytime I visit, the staff are very accommodating and answer all of my questions patiently. Even if there is a crowd, they offer excellent service. If you want to learn or expand your knowledge about craft beer, this is a great place to start. The patio is great. I love to bring my dog with me on nice afternoons. He loves getting attention. :D I would enthusiastically recommend The Hoppy Monk to anyone who asks for a recommendation.

Generally has pretty spot on service, nice selection of beers and the food is really quite good. The menu varies and it is generally always pretty tasty. The friend mushrooms are a perfect umami bomb with fresh mushrooms encased with a nice beer batter proffering a burst of flavor when you bite into them to the fish of the day which varies but always boasts perfectly cooked fish and side dishes (miso glazed kobia over quinoa and kale chip) that are worthy of stardom on their own. Burgers are always delivered perfectly cooked. Fries can be crazy good one day and just chewy burnt another, but such is life of a fry cook. The thing that gets me is I cannot seem to escape from there without taking a hit in my moneybelt/fanny pack hard enough to make my kidneys hurt. Tiny (looks like 6 oz pours) of a sour ale can set you back 9 bucks and they dont really tell you what size pour it is.

Were at hoppy monk for dinner since the kids are doing other stuff tonight. Hmmmmmm..... Weeeeellll. .... Its alright. I wanted to get plastered tonight. But the waitress doesnt seem to be interested in serving us. The wait staff.. Hard to tell. The customers are dressed better than the staff. It looks like they went under a bridge and picked people out to wait. Cant get a word in to the waitress cause she talks too much and too fast. The food is good, just good. For the $15 duck tacos that came 3 tacos on Itty bitty corn tortillas, I expected the meat to be juicy, it was kind of dry. Good tho. Presentation was very nice. The beer wasnt ice cold tho. I expected the beer to be on the verge of ice forming on top. But I get colder beer out of my fridge honestly. Disappointed really. But its Saturday night and the place isnt packed. Could that be telling???

I brought my boyfriend, who was visiting, to this place because of the atmosphere and great selection of beer. The wings are amazing probably one of the best Ive had. Our server was good and friendly. The reason i am giving 2 stars is because once we asked if we could exchange the rabbit tacos (which were okay and small for $13) for a plate of wings instead. The manager personally came out bringing the plate back and told us how much labor goes into all the food and how this is one of their most popular dishes. He ended his condescending speech by telling us he wont take the tacos off the tab and if we wanted them left at our table or not. My boyfriend and I had been extremely polite through the whole situation so I left extremely offended by how rude the manager had been. Any other place would have taken the plate back to substitute it for another plate we enjoyed.

Looking for a chill bar with craft beers. I must admit, I was expecting a bit of a hipster vibe, at least as far as clientele, but instead it was a haughty and arrogant Lion & Rose feel. This was mid afternoon, mind you. Now the servers were helpful enough, once we were finally able to flag one down at the bar. They were able to describe the different beers pretty well and answer the few questions we had, but they always acted like they had other more pressing matters at hand, like helping the more affluent customers at the tables. The beer was pretty good, but if I cant wear jeans and a t-shirt without getting glares from other customers and practically hearing the dragging feet of the staff, Ill gladly go elsewhere.
