Went this afternoon after walking with my bro at the trails. Saw this place had high ratings and the pictures of the food looked pretty good. Decided to try it since it was close by. The experience makes me wonder if the reviews were fake or outdated. The structure of the restaurant looked the same but the interior was completely different. Not as upscale as in the pictures on Google. The soup was ok. The appetizers tasted off and left my stomach hurting. These chicken on sticks. The cucumber was actually pretty good. The hostess seemed unpleasant during the entire meal. Seemed off-put when I asked if they had sweet tea. But at least she refilled the waters. The food was plentiful. We both got the pad woonsen. The noodles seemed a bit soggy. I cant figure out what was up with the sauce, but I tasted fishy or old to me. Ive never experienced that at any other thai place Ive been. Good amount of beef, but some pieces of meat were cold while the noodles were very hot. Ended up with a stomach ache and an odd aftertaste. I dont think Ill be coming back to Thai Taste with all the other options in San Antonio.

This is an honest review. I came in excited and optimistic because someone told me it was awesome. I do not judge on appearance because I have been to Thailand and have eaten at some great places that looked run down and unsafe to eat. Id like to start that their menu is quite limited, I expected to see more seafood soups and authentic entrees. We ordered spring rolls, yellow curry and pad Thai. The spring rolls are ok. I was expecting a great sauce but instead it was a sticky goo-like sauce. The wrapping was thicker than usual, had never had it. And I will add I never saw that type of wrap in Thailand. The curry had a good taste but was runny, the chicken was a little dry & the potatoes mushy. The pad Thai was "weak" and was somewhat slimy. It was tasteless. I would not come here again. For a quick lunch with typical commercialized Thai food its perfect because its fast and portion size is good. Service is prompt and good. If you want amazing Thai Food go to Sawsadee, they have literally brought the taste of Thailand to San Antonio.

It was decent, thought it was going to be better by the amount of good reviews and a little cheaper considering the location and Google priced it with a single $. Portion was a little lacking, but that is coming from a fat san antonian and I came pretty hungry. I dont know much about thai, obviously I only order chicken pad thai at most places. It was neither better nor any worse than any place I go to. Probably going to stick to pei wei, its the same price, I like the portion size better, and it taste a little better. I would maybe recommend it if I had gotten a bigger plate, but wouldnt drive out of my way to try it out. Service was subpar, I didnt find my pad thai spicy enough so I thought she would come back and see if I needed anything but I pretty much finished my plate before I got agitated enough to yell across the restaurant where my waitress was sitting talking to her coworker to ask for some hot oil. I knew I should of went to the Pho place up the street at wurzbach and evers, I would of left very full and satisfied.

A great spot for some good Thai food. I was introduced to this place by a friend of mine and have continued to eat at the location off and on for years now. My favorite item there is the Pad Thai. Ive found that some of their items vary in preparation from other Thai restaurants and have a sweet, or saucy twist to them. I usually visit during lunch to take advantage of the $6.95 lunch menu which is a really good deal. The lunch specials include soup, eggroll & tea. Extra meat can be added for small charge. Lunch plates include, Pad Thai, Pad Woonsen, Pad King, Pad Prig, Pad Kra Prow, Pad Pak, and a few chinese items for the unadventurous.. Beef & Broccoli, Pepper Steak, Chicken Broccoli & Cashew Chicken. Service is pretty good, and its rare that its so busy at lunch you have to wait to be seated.. Food usually comes fast. Cant ask for more when your on your lunch break. Cheap prices, fast service, good food. If you havent tried this place, give it a try.

This food is not authentic. The Thai green curry was way too sweet nothing close to any thai food Ive had before. Over priced as well. Each dish is over 10 bucks. I asked for 7 out 10 and it wasnt spicy at all. When I first walked in, there was an overwhelming smell of bleach? Idk but it wasnt very pleasant. The staff is nice and the place is clean but I wouldnt go again. The rice tastes and looked old. They wouldnt let me substitute some of my vegetables in my green curry which I though was really odd. He told me we dont do substitution but I can tell them to just take it out. Who does that? I dont know of any thai restaurant that puts mushrooms, green peas, and carrots. Im really disappointed in the food. The springs rolls are made with egg roll paper and not spring roll paper so it wasnt really tasty either. I know thai food and Im sorry but this isnt it.

Every dish is equal to or far better than other dishes at other restaurants! I always take people who have never had Thai food... here first! We all have our favorites but I try to fight that tendency and try to pick something new every other visit. I have not once been disappointed... just totally delighted! The portions are most appropriate, and the price very reasonable. Thai Taste makes me wonder what eating in Thailand must truly be like! Clearly my favorite San Antonio restaurant !!!! After 8+ years eating in Thai Taste... I DO NOT believe the bug story at all. The waitstaff have always been very good & friendly, often very busy - a good sign as I see it! They just need new tables and chairs... but I still eat there 2-4 times a week. I Absolutely Love Thai Taste !!!!

I am sorry to say. Interior was dive bar ish, which is fine if the food held its own. The hot and sour soup was creamy. Not what I expected, and honestly not good. My app of fried tofu was good, and the sauce well balanced. My wanton soup was good but had to wait a while for it. Everything in my entree was good as far as cooked well, texture, etc...., but what ruined it for me was the oil it was cooking in. It seem to be a bit on the rancid side, reused, or re allocated. Not good, and obvious. Asked for hot oil, and was told they dont have that, but did have Sriracha, not what they brought me. What I got was a poor knock off that, orange in color, and also taste old and funky. Very bad form for having so many high reviews.

This is a place I have been going to for years. As far as bugs --Never Ever have I seen any. The service has always been friendly and good, they are slow when it gets busy and it gets busy nearly every day at lunch time. The prices have risen since I first began attending over 10 years ago, but only about $.50 to $1.50. The food has been the best I have ever had, once I began eating Thai I could not go back to Chinese food. They have remodeled since I posted this review. Still excellent food with good service.
