I hate to give this place a bad review. I wanted to like it because there are so few places in the neighborhood to have a gourmet meal/burger/drinks. It appears as if it is a family place too, so Im really hoping we visited on a bad afternoon. It takes too long to place a food order, and it takes even longer to order a cocktail. I want to like this place, but at those prices I wont be giving them a second chance. The lone server is attentive and kept our drinks filled. He was also exceptionally friendly. The burgers were OK, but they were not worth the price. When we placed our order, we were told it would be an hour for our order. It was 3:30pm and we thought it was odd to have such a wait time in the middle of the afternoon, but we agreed to the wait and placed our order. We ordered the burger with chili. They were out of chili. My mom still wanted the same burger, so they offered to put mustard on it for her. Knocking a little off the $12 price would have been considerate. We then went over to the bar to order a cocktail. One bartender, reading recipes from a binder. Great quality ingredients go into the drinks and half a dozen beers on draft. We only waited 30 minutes for our onion rings, which were only OK. Burnt bits from previous orders hung on to the exterior like barnacles. Greasy and not much flavor, but the dipping sauce saved the rings. Then our burgers came out. It only took about 40 minutes, so we were surprised. They looked good, but surprised they were served on Texas Toast. We all could have sworn the menu describe brioche buns. As we were finishing up our burgers, we noticed these beautiful brioche buns start coming out of the kitchen. We felt cheated. We could have Texas Toast at home. We paid for the gourmet experience, but felt Hawx fell a little short of delivering what we paid for. An apology would and/or an explanation would have gone a long way.

First timers. Small place. We sat down with menus and decided our orders. My husband went to the counter, ordered and paid. We received our drinks by a nice and friendly waitress. More customers were sat and we noticed after about 30 minutes, no one was receiving their food. The nice waitress was literally running around trying to accomodate everyone. I noticed that she was having discussions with the cooks, more than once and the cooks appeared to be defiant, pointing their hands and shaking their heads while talking with the waitress. After the 30 min.- two women next to us, who had been seated 10 to 15 minutes after us received their food. I said to my husband...we were before them....I didnt mean for the waitress to hear, but she evidently did. She went to the food runner area and again had what seemed like a "discussion" with the cooks who seemed to be combative and overwhelmed.. The nice waitress came back and said they were compting our meal, because our order was lost....saying that it would arrive in a few minutes. This whole experience took about 45 min. We received our order. Truthfully I was a bit afraid to eat it.....ya never know what happens behind the scenes of a complaining customer. Our order was apparently compted and we ate them. The fries rock. The hamburgers were ok...the meat is just meat....no flavor.... Last night my husband and I felt bloated. Today I cant seem to leave the restroom. Hopefully we did not eat bad food. Even though the waitress did everything she could and was nice....I dont think we will be back. Especially since I am sick today. Granted ....it may be just me..... Sorry Hawx Burger....thumbs down

This was my first time here. The appetizers were good, and the burgers are as well depending on your tastes. To get my water and grandmas lemonade took about 15 minutes after ordering, the appetizers took about 40 minutes, and the actual burgers took nearly an hour. The way they take food orders needs to be revamped. The line blocks the main entrance to the establishment so you have patrons squeezing in and out along with the 1 food runner and 1 drink runner. It is odd that they ask for tip prior to actually getting your food and experiencing the actual service. After I received the complete order and began eating, I noticed what appeared to be the main cook (in full uniform) sit himself in the patio area and chat with 2 young ladies for at little over 30 minutes. During this, the 1 food runner spoke with him stating "we are getting a lot of complaints about the wait time for food". He waved her off as if she was interupting his good time. Less 20 minutes after that, a man that was bussing tables nearby walked over and spoke with the same cook. I could not hear what was said, but the busser looked like he was insisting that the Main cook actually listen to him. It was at that time that the Main cook stood up from his seat and marched over the food prep area to help out, leaving those young ladies looking puzzled. I know that all of that is weird to put in a review, but it is a factor that comes into play for new customers. So bad service and long wait time for food is what I experienced here. I would feel silly recommending anyone try this place out.

THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE!!!Read a lot of negative reviews but still went ahead to check it out for myself. Boy should I have believed those reviews myself! Brought my wife on a friday night, the place was mess! People stealing tables like it was nobodys buisness, most of the unoccupied ones were messy and no one available to clean them up?! What a joke this place is! The customer service is by far the worst I have ever encountered in my entire life. Theres literally only one waitress for the entire restaurant and you could tell she was in a bad mood. Bar looked pretty decent until it took me a solid 10 minutes just to get a drink. When the bartender finally came up to me, she was so rude and snobby! Yeah its a friday night, but theres no reason to be so ugly and ill-mannered. Somebody needs to fire that blonde chick ASAP before we call the manager. The burgers were honestly trash. Most reviews note that they have no flavor, and if that isnt the truest thing. These babies were way too overpriced and honest tasted like nothing. The Cubano burger and Egg one were disgusting. Overall this place is a complete joke and the worst burger spot in SA. Save your money amd service elsewhere, someone needs to shut down this spot immediately. DONT EVER COME HERE PEOPLE!!!!!

So in the past few weeks my girlfriend and I have seen this restaurant promoted in our Facebook timeline. Since we have a young child we rarely get to go out therefore we were really excited to try Hawx. I personally have worked in and managed restaurants for the last 12 years so I read the reviews with understanding that it was a new place. We visited with an open mind and empty stomach. So without rambling here is my review. The owner should spend the money that he spends promoting on Facebook to fix the atmosphere within the restaurant. He should either staff correctly or at least train properly with the employees you do have. The concept and marketing as far as pictures shown are great however the venue and execution of this concept are a failure. Your bar is desperate need of a makeover....start there....and your drink pricing is all over the place...[ which i dont mind paying 6$ for Gentleman Jack but you should be charging atleast 7 ] good luck .....
