Excellent small local bakery run by a couple and their adult son, specializing in desserts such as cakes, pies and cookies. We love their frosted brownies which are surprisingly light with a yummy frosting. They are very unique compared to the usual heavy fudge style variety. I really havent had ANYTHING that was less than really good and most items are fantastic. They also have lunch entrees like Chicken salad and sandwiches, and have recently started creating food items to-go that you bake yourself or pre-prepared side dishes. Ive tried a few of them and I was really impressed. The only drawback is that their display space is rather limited because they are a small store. They have a great variety of items, but they are on rotation due to space and expected sales. I would presume their selection is mostly governed by whatever special orders they have for that day. i.e. if someone ordered brownies, they will bake extra and put em out. Therefore if you dont see many pies for example, dont assume they dont create them. They will happily do special orders, even fairly small ones at no additional cost if you have a particular favorite. Support your local bakery and try their fresh desserts.

Sugar & Spice Bakery is the "go to" place for my friends and me. When you walk in the door, the smell of fresh-baked cakes, pies and cookies surrounds you. It is a nostalgic journey back to Grandmas kitchen; very rare these days. The display case is a visual feast and impossible to resist. Trust me! You wont believe what you see. Fabulous take-out casseroles are available and the menu is wonderful. Vicki cooks up her homemade soups and they are a must-have anytime; even in Texas summers. Finger sandwiches, salads and regular sandwiches are available; yum yum. Our Ladies Bible Study meets there regularly and the Northens accommodate us graciously. Thank you, Jeremy!

This place is 50/50. It all depends what you get. The Good: I had a piece of chess pie and it was good. While, I did not had any of the muffins and other pies, they look good and probably will taste good. The Bad: We order a cake and it was not good. The Icing is way to sweet that after taking 2-3 bites, you dont want anymore. Also, the cake (flour) is heavy and not fluffy. Which makes sense why was it when I pick up the cake it felt like it was heavy for a small cake. Also, the cake are expensive for what you are getting. In conclusion: if you want different type of pies this is a good place. If you want a cake, this is not the place to go to.

Absolutely amazing bakery! The cutest (and tastiest!!!) Halloween cookies Ive seen thus far, and the Tollhouse Pie is like a delicious chocolate chip cookie baked into a toasty crust. My favourite of all, however, were the petit fours, which were perfection. The customer service is amazing, and wonderful people to chat with. Prices are beyond reasonable, especially for how good everything is. Ill definitely be back, even though its a good 45 minutes away from me!

This place has really good homemade soups. At least during the colder part of the year. If you are in the area of Parker and Independence I would strongly recommend trying what ever they may have the day you stop by and may be a chicken salad sandwich. My kids love the cookies and pies and as a bakery I guess this is their mainstay type product but everything here seems to be really good!
