The first thing I had at sCRUMBscious was their quiche. It is impossible to describe how amazing it is. Theres every other quiche youve had...then, a million miles above all those is this light, cheesy, flavorful, perfect quiche. When I first tried it, I literally stopped talking, I was so surprised. Wow. (You do need to order it a day in advance to give them plenty of time to make it for you. As far as I know, they dont sell it by the slice.) The next time, I got a pie shake. This is an entire piece of homemade pie blended up in a shake using Blue Bell ice cream. As you can imagine, it was fantastic. Tonight, my husband and I tried their hamburgers and fries. Their fries are hand-cut and seasoned really well, served with awesome fry sauce if youd like. The burgers are top-to-bottom fresh ingredients. My tomato slices were red and juicy and huge. The rest of the ingredients were similarly what youd want in a great burger. When I was done, I absolutely wanted more. I know Im gushing. But, man, thats some good food. They have a very simple menu (burgers, fries, desserts), but that enables them to make everything they serve from scratch. Its classic, high-quality, delicious food. And some nice fry sauce. They are competitively priced, not over-priced...especially when you consider that the other burger joints typically defrost your meat patty, cook it, and then stick it under a heat lamp until you buy it. By the way, they are very family friendly with paper and crayons on some tables for the kids to color on, and a giant checkers board on another. Try sCRUMBscious. You wont believe it.

This was our first visit. We arrived there on a Friday at around 5:00. There was no one there so the service was fast. We had the hamburgers and found the meat to be fresh, patties hand made and cooked to perfection. We had a real issue with the buns. They were thin, soggy and completely fell apart before we half way through the burger. For the price, we feel a much better quality of bun is called for. I had the sweet potato fries. They were cut VERY thin, way over cooked to the point that many were just this side of burned. I will not order them ever again. My husband ordered the onion rings. They were absolute heaven. There were around 12 to 15 very large rings and were prepared to perfection. He was nice enough to share some with me and we both agree that they were the best we had ever eaten. The sauce that they have is wonderful. We used it on the onion rings and on the burgers. I ordered unsweet tea. It was sour and I was very disappointed. We topped off our meal with their Pieshakes. I had the Peach and he had the Strawberry. They are thick, very rich, with bits of pie crust. They are an interesting take on the usual shake and we enjoyed them. Our total bill was $32.40. For this amount of money, I want perfection in everything I order and it was not. Even though we will think twice before we return, we wish this mom and pop establishment all the luck and success possible.

They offered delivery specials to teachers in the area. We ordered from them many times, hoping the next experience would be better. After five tries it was time to give up. Our orders were either wrong, items left off, delivered late (teachers only get 30 minutes to eat), or orders cancelled with no notice. When we ordered online we could put a delivery time. There were instances that the delivery time was put in thirty minutes before our lunch time, because we knew they run late, (order to be delivered at 11, our lunch was at 11:30). They did not deliver the food until 4:30. Who wants to eat lunch at 4:30? The other teachers gave part of their lunches just so that teacher had something to eat. Another one ordered food and went to pick it up on his break. When he got there they had cancelled his order and never notified him. They cancelled it because they had to work on a catering order. They told another teacher trying to make a phone order that they couldnt take her order, because they were working on a catering order. This was on the day they sent out a notice to teachers through email to place orders. Seriously? Do not offer to take orders if you cant fulfill them. I know that at least 10 other teachers and myself will never go back. We gave them lots of chances and they just do not have their act together.

This place.... what to say? The burgers are pretty solid. Fries are skin-on and delicious, albeit a bit soggy at times. (Hubby hates them, but I love them) Pieshakes are the reason we go back, they are pretty great. The problem with this place is that they dont make it til you order it. Putting a 1/2 lb burger patty on the grill is going to take too long to really qualify as "fast food". We have waited in the drive-thru lane for 20 minutes or more. Went inside to eat during this last visit and it took just as long. Their food is solid, I just think their business model isnt working. Either have a few patties on the grill to make service faster, or change your model to be sit-down service. 20 minutes for a burger, fries & shake is too long of a wait. One note on the interior (sorry): it looks like they ran out of money or something. Interior is drab and thrown together like it was an afterthought. I think they would have much better success if they did a small kiosk somewhere and ONLY sold shakes and pies. The shakes are the stars of this establishment.

I have always loved Scrumbscious, however I tried their online ordering and delivery option through GrubHub and was severely disappointed. I ordered my food at 7, and it was estimated to arrive between 7:45-8. No big deal, I can wait a little while. 8:30 comes, still no food. I call and a child answers, saying they were short-staffed and it was prom night. Im an understanding person, so I sympathize and accept their apologies. 9 comes. 9:15 comes. 9:30 is when I finally got my food, only to find that it was cold and underwhelming. Its ridiculous that it took 2.5 hours to get a burger and fries, also taking into consideration my close proximity to this establishment. Ill continue to go in, but I will never order online again, which is disappointing considering Mesquite has a limited amount of delivery options.

I really enjoyed my burger, which was excellent. Regular fries were good, but the sweet potato fries were not good. I thought I would like the pie shake, but the texture of pie crust in the shake was not my favorite, though the flavor was good. Now to my big negative, the drive thru service was abysmal. We literally waited at the window for about half an hour. Im not sure if the drive thru is meant primarily for call ahead orders or something, but that is WAY too long. I would have reviewed this much better as a sit down restaurant I think.

Good Burger with fresh ingredients. Really thin hand formed Patty with plenty of flavor. The fries are hand cut, kinda soggy due to the fresh cut potatoes. But I like them not too crunchy so it worked out fine for me. Wife had the sweet potato fries, hers were soggy too. She is not a fan of the sogginess but ate them all. We both had the chocolate cream pie shake and it was very good. Not the fastest service but to be expected with fresh cooked food. Worth the wait, we will be going back.
