All in all, our visit to the Kerrville Starbucks was an unpleasant one. We brought our small Chihuahua mix with us. My wife sat outside while I went in and ordered. The first thing that struck us was the smell. The patio area wreaked of spilled, sour milk, but that was just the beginning. My wife waited outside with our dog, while I went in to order. I asked for two lattes and a Puppuccino, and repeated the Puppuccino part of the order three times to the cashier. The cashier had a flippant, insolent, and conceited manner. Little did I know that he was about to charge me for 2 lattes and 1 cappuccino. The barista made me 3 cups of coffee, and no Puppuccino, (a free cup of whipped cream Starbucks offered to customers with dogs). I explained that I only ordered 2 lattes and one cup of whipped cream for our dog, so he graciously changed out the extra coffee for the whipped cream. Walking out, I realized I had been charged for 3 coffees instead of 2, so my wife, who had been waiting outside would have to wait longer and drink her coffee by herself with our dog while I went in to straighten things out. At first I brought up the issue with the insolent cashier and then the manager stepped in and understood what I was saying and refunded the overcharge. So I have given one star to the decent and kind barista, and one star for the competent and cordial manager, a minus star for the insolent clerk who got the order wrong, a minus star for the smelly patio, and a minus star for the fact that my wife spent most of her time waiting for me. And there is one more thing that I have not yet discussed this Starbucks location. The entire place has an uncomfortable air of pretension, that made us tense, even though we were outside, and with our dog. We are senior citizens and could sense an underlying resentment towards older people from 3 young women customers who sat in close proximity to our table. Some think it is not fair to judge an establishment by its customers, however, it is the establishment itself that fosters such attitudes. And I might add, that even though my wife is over 60, she looks about 25 years younger than her age, and is more attractive than any of the young women with their snooty airs. We are regular patrons of a Starbucks in another city, and never encountered this attitude in a Starbucks before. We may try it again, but if the patio smell is still there, well be making a u-turn back to the parking lot.

A marked deviation among Starbucks sites. I am familiar with hiring, training, and supervisory approaches used by Starbucks. None of them seem to be applied effectively at this site. Drive-thrus do increase the noise level within stores but here, it is exceptionally loud. The staff is responsible for the startling volume here: yelling back and forth among themselves, often accompanied by laughing and miscellaneous noise. The laughing, for example seems so loud and false, mtnat it seems they are there simply to amuse themselves, rather than serve the customer. Even with 7 partners behind the counter, one can expect to wait, and wait, and wait even more, for a simple Latté. Today, 1/9/2017 with two people behind the counter, I simply stood with no one paying any attention, waiting to place an order. Finally, I simply sat down, and didnt order what would have been my second drink for that visit. Sadly, Its also not unusual, no matter how, many people are working, for the trash receptacles to be so full that not one more cup can be squeezed in. I saw, in such a case, an employee empty one free-standing receptacle, and ignore all the others. And, the trash that doesnt fit ends up on the floor, apparently attracting no ones notice. Ive never encountered another Starbucks with such ongoing problems. As for the store manager....you certainly cant pick them out, if there is indeed one. I will continue to visit this particular site, since no other chain is in place, but now I know to expect the experience to be mediocre, at best. At least, Im Hoping for mediocre: that would be an improvement. I am a visitor to this area, and am certainly looking forward to returning home, to an area that maintains the Starbucks quality experience Ive come to expect.

Ive been here many times, but motivated now by my bad experience to review it. The good: GREAT view of the Guadalupe River and MOST times friendly and good service. The bad: some of the younger female employees seem to have bad attitudes - once had two of them start an argument with me over whether they always add water or not to espresso shots on ice (because I specified "no water"). And many times they are simply silent and dont engage the customer in a friendly manner as they should. Was going to let this go, but I was there this last week... at least five flies all around the espresso machine and a gallon of milk sitting there with no lid (calling to the flies, though none took the bait while i watched). The barrista seemed to be totally oblivious to this. Five flies is what you call an infestation in my book! Disgusting. Update 1-5-17: the dudes inside were so friendly and customer oriented today (and gave me the extra shot instead of throwing it away), that Im upgrading a star! Feb 5 17 - another visit, another upgrade!

starbucks is good no matter where you go bc its a chain...but the one in Kerrville reallllly disappoints me. the staff is AWFUL. very rude, not welcoming at all, NOT the kind of "warm" coffee making kind of kids that normally work at places like this. they never seem happy to be there, they throw your money back at you, & they pretty much just toss the drinks around on the counter..even when youre standing right there to pick it up. or theyll put out 4 at a time & make you figure out who gets what..they could do so much more to make it more of a happy place (like uh, get a whole new staff that actually likes themselves & says hi when you walk in). people go to get coffee bc it makes them happy..so why cant the people making it for me try to at least act happy too? overall...i still get my coffee from here, but i always hit the drive thru. that way i cant see them roll their eyes & be miserable quite as easily as i could inside.

The staff look like they are always in a good mood. Drive through used to be fast. Drinks are great. Try the vanilla bean frappacino with 2 pumps peppermint (no whip) for a refreshing afternoon pick me up. 5 minutes in line is too long.

This is my favorite Starbucks in Texas, as the view of the river and hills from their patio is just so Lone Star awesome...if there is a better coffee view in our state I have not seen it yet. Enjoy.

The employees are cool and the rewards card is totally worth it. They are open before 6 am on weekdays and very convenient for those of us who work early. I love Starbucks.

Coffee was well made and service great. The view of the river totally made the experience 5 star. The patio over looks the abundant parking and an amazing river view.
