I visited The Firkin & Phoenix Sunday afternoon after church since it was nearby and my guest that was in town for the holiday wanted a nice place for breakfast but inexpensive. We walked in and saw a sign that read welcome and to seat ourselves and so we did. We chose a booth next to the window. This establishment has lavish, plush red velvet booths, that along with the dark wooden booths and tables, you know youre not walking into some type of shabby pub. We were a bit concerned that we would have a wait for someone to come take our orders because we sat ourselves, but that wasnt the case. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. We ordered mimosas, which were really good. The drink wasnt watered down at all and there was alot of bubbly in it, and for $3 a glass, it was a good deal. I hate though that I didnt know that after 4 pm, the mimosas are bottomless, but I know now for future reference. My guest and I both ordered The Firkin Breakfast which consisted of eggs (either scrambled or fried), a slice of bacon, sausage, home-style potatoes, four slices of toast (your choice of bread), and three slices of tomatoes. The food was good, but our eggs could have been more liked we asked, scrambled medium and not hard. The price wasnt bad either, I believe $6.95 plus tax. I checked out their site when I got home and saw that they do offer happy hour Monday-Friday from 2 pm - 7pm, you can also visit their website for other specials and activities that they have during the week.

I went to the Pheonix last Monday night because my Groupon was about to expire. I went by myself post work-out and sat at the bar. I was greeted quite promptly by a friendly male bartender, offered a sample of beer (cranberry wheat... quite tasty), and then had a well poured snake bite (although $7 for a snake bite is kind of high). I showed my Groupon to the bar tender right when I sat down, but that didnt deter providing grade-A service. Everything throughout the rest of my experience was excellent. The fish and chips came out very quickly after ordering, it was so fresh and crispy - the batter was delightful. The chips were also fresh. The salad (which I took to-go for lunch today) was made with fresh spring mix and freshly chopped veggies - not something I wouldve predicted coming from a bar restaurant. The grilled chicken was tender and very tasty. I think this is my favorite place in Houston thus far for a good meal at a bar. The bar tender especially blew me away with his friendly (but very laid back friendliness.. not like obnoxious, in your face, peppy, wont leave you alone kind of friendly), quick, knowledgeable, and welcoming. Ill be back for sure! This seriously was a 5-star experience.

Came by to watch the Man U / Liverpool game and had a great time! A few large projectors and a ton of little TVs are scattered around the place playing different games, and theres really not a bad seat in the house. Even though it was busy, the staff seemed to work as a team to ensure the patrons were taken care of. We only ordered nachos for food, but they were absolutely delicious and everything that we saw come out of the kitchen looked amazing! It looked like the type of food served at a white tablecloth bistro, not a normal pub. The atmosphere makes it though. The decor screams classic pub (though it actually has windows). Great place to watch European football... well definitely be coming back!

Still a really great place! Ive been a regular for a while. I only have beer or wine but the happy hour prices cant be beat. My favorite thing though is the friendly service and the fantastic food! I have had almost everything on their menu and havent found anything that I dont love. Their salads with the champagne dressing are wonderful along with the cilantro rice. Entrees are amazing from fish to chicken pub pie. The tilapia is perfect as is the BLT and the Bunless Burger. My favorite pub in Houston!

Ive never had bad service here. Overall the food is average. Wings on Tuesday is a great deal and the bbq wings are good. The burger is huge and tasty and worth the price. They also have awesome desserts. I didnt, however, like the chili cheese fries. Hardly any cheese and the chili should hardly be called chilli. It was too chunky and dry.

Now that Ive experienced watching GOT at Phoenix, there is no going back. Theres nothing quite like watching an episode with 100 other random people, everyone cheering and booing together during the show. The odd thing is, when the show starts, EVERYONE stops talking and the room is silent. Like I said, there is nothing like it.

My husband and I love this place! Weve been coming here for a while and the food/service is always great. The wings are our favorite especially on Tuesdays when they are $4 for 6 wings. I use to not like sweet potato fries but this place made me a believer! Great atmosphere, great people, great specials. 12/10 would come back.

The few times I come here its always a nice experience. Mostly because its not too loud and crazy like most bars. You can definitely have conversation here. Service has always been great. Recently went here for a crawfish cook off. 20 for all you can eat is a steal. Tasted great to. Thumbs up for hosting that event.

This is the best neighborhood style pub and grill around. The food is amazing and made from scratch, the drinks are flowing with a vast selection of beers and liquors. The staff is always amazing and always attentive. If you are old enough to have seen Cheers I tell you what that is the nice friendly vibe I get from here.

Came with friends to watch a soccer game. The bar is very nice-looking and was clean. Service was excellent, even considering that is was busy for the event. Wide selection of beers, including their own local brews, which we all thought were good. Everyone in the group thought the food was good as well. Free parking

Great place to catch the big games like the SuperBowl due to the numerous TVs and large projector screens! Youre never too far away from the action. Even the outdoor patio has got you covered. Great service, never wandering when my next drink will be filled. The outdoor patio is dog friendly too!

This is a cool chill spot to watch a sports game, especially if you are a soccer fan. They are open late on the weekends as well. The food quality has decreased over the past few times Ive been but still descent. They have a pretty good brunch and happy hour menu as well.

The food is always SPOT ON. Terrific atmosphere, excellent service, TVs everywhere. Very posh yet still very pub like. Love this place! Plenty of parking in their lot, and if it gets full, theres always parking on Hazard Street with just a very short walk to the pub.

This used to be a great spot. Lately I have been very disappointed by the food and drink selection. Im not sure if management has changed or what but I miss it when it was Firkin and Phoenix. 3 strikes and out. Very sad but I must find a new bar.
