I am new to the area and was looking for a good Mexican restaurant to make my regular "go-to" Tex-Mex eatery. So I asked around and heard from a few people that this was the place to check out. So, due to the hype, my wife and I gave it a try. Unfortunatly, we were sorely disappointed with our experience on several accounts. 1.) Our waitress tended to ignore our table while chatting it up with a couple of regulars. This was irritating mainly because our glasses were only refilled once during our entire visit (and we were thirsty). 2.) The food was nauseatingly greasy. The beans and the rice were sitting in a bed of grease by the time we finished the entrees. 3.) The value wasnt bad, but Ive seen better. Within the viscinity there are several other restaurants that have better prices and a better quality product in my oppinion (Las Cazuelas for one). Maybe I just went on a bad day, but based on our experience the hype was lost on us.

Ive been coming here since I was young. I have always ordered the same thing every time I come here. Recently I started ordering a two meat taco and they have obliged. All of a sudden Duke the manager does not want to sell me this anymore because he doesnt know how to price it and when I told him I would pay extra, he changed his answer. He said he did not have any of the other meat on hand. Thats the second time theyve given me that excuse. How does a Mexican restaurant run out of chorizo??? Theyve lost a faithful customer.

Ladies and gentlemen, I finally caught a break. I would like to recommend to all that Las Vegas Cafe 1101 W Harrison Harlingen Texas was fantastic! We did have to wait a bit for a table but it was well worth it. Our server was extremely Professional, courteous and attentive. This place was extremely busy but our waitress did not waiver one bit. The food was homemade and was delicious. Kudos to Las Vegas Cafe!! I urge everyone who visits the Harlingen Texas area to give this business a try.

As a decades-long customer of this family owned and operated restaurant, we are called by name as we arrive. Newbies are welcomed equally. The staff turn-over rate is very low, as they treat employees with care and respect, also. The foods is consist, homemade, and delicious, though wait times for a table are sometimes, especially at lunch, excessive. Recently, we more often eat dinner here, and there is usually a table available. Dinner specials are all wonderful, most priced at $5.99.

I usually like it here. But today they had no carne guisada and no sausage. First time experience with this. Over all its awesome. For those that dont eat meat selling fried chicken would be nice too. My opinion. I know theres other chicken options, but I was just saying. Oh, and the cups to go charging another fee after ordering and eating there, well again my opinion, there should not be another charge. I would definitely keep eating here at Las Vegas. I had a terrible experience last night. We waited an hour for our food. First, they gave us the wrong order TWICE. They never checked up on us and it wasnt even packed. When we finally got our food, most of it was cold. I ordered chicken fajitas and all I got was a piece of grilled chicken breast. No onions. No peppers. The food was not good. Maybe they are not famous for their fajitas. Im never coming here again, sorry.

If you are in Harlingen and hungry for Mexican Food this is a must... They might just have the best cheese enchiladas in the WORLD!!!! They are open early for breakfast, then they do an excellent lunch. they take a break and then do dinner. Make sure you are there with plenty of time because it is a very popular spot and you will wait for a table but it is more than worth the wait.

HANDS DOWN THE BEST MEXCICAN RESTARAUNT EVER!!! From their cheese enchiladas to faijita quesadillas, everything is delicious. The staff is extremely friendly and builds those personal relationships with their customers. I have been going to Las Vegas since I was 7 years old and they have never disappointed me. Words cannot describe how amazing this place is!!

Not great. Waited 40 minutes, packed parking lot. The ten dinners I had in my party were all unimpressed. First, the wait. Second, no free chips and salsa. Third, they got orders wrong. Fourth and most important was that the food was bland minus lots of grease. All of the dining party agreed that it was in the bottom 20% of Mexican food we have tried.

I dont really want to say anything bad about this restaurant i always go with my family but, I ate there a day ago and got food poisoning. At first i didnt know why my stomach was hurting so bad till I realized the last thing I ate was from there, my condition got worst. And i also saw a roach on their wall. Thats how i know their not sanitary.

I had an all vegetarian plate and the food was great. However they have plenty of other good options. Its a typical hole in the wall place with authentic mexican food. The wait was not terribly bad and food was served hot. I would give 5 stars to the food and overall 4 stars because of the dirty and smelly restroom

Ive been coming her since i was young and it is always a treat. The food is amazing. However, i am biased as i have usually ordered the beef enchiladas. They are so good that they are all i ever want when i go. Although, it is usually busy and packed so the wait time can be long. However the food is worth it.

Owners daughter (laura or lori) did not get correct name anyway she is very rude. This was our first time there in a long time and she basically told us that we could leave because she was not going to accomodate us until she got her regular customers first. We will never go there again worst service ever.

Big portions, good tasting crowded place need to wait to get Service but its worth it. wait staff needs training in engaging more with their patrons there is no manager that comes table to table to see how is everything. what ever happened to friendly flirty waitresses that used to engage with patrons ?

First impressions are very important. The only thing that was a bit of a bother was when we wanted to take some tea in a lemonade cup we bought. They wanted to charge us extra for it. It was something that they were going to throw away anyway. Seems kind of desperate. We wont be going back.

It seriously doesnt get any better than this. The enchilada plates are legendary and their daily specials pack huge portions for small prices. Their sweet tea is excellent too! As a long time patron I can honestly say, this is THE place to eat Mexican food in Harlingen.

Me and my grandmother go there every Saturday. Food is great, staff is awesome.. The only downfall is theres always a 30-45 minute wait for a table. Then another 20-30 minute wait for food. If only they could expand and get a much larger building that would be great.
