Went here for the first time this evening. The entire staff was so uninviting and very dull. We didnt even know our waitresses name because she was quick to say things and mumbled the entire time (and the simple fact is she never introduced herself to our table). She dropped my sons drink, checked on us fot refills once and the owner (I assumed) greeted everyone around us, but not us. Took a little bit for the food to come out (that was fine) but, my order was wrong. My boyfriends plate was originally given to our son. Then, my sons food came out about 3 or 4 minutes later. My boyfriends fried fish was amazing, but everything else (chicken, mashed potatoes, and fried okra) was ok. The french fries were horrible (soggy and gross). We will give it another try for the fish, but we will be ordering to go. Service was awful.

I copied this from the FB post I left. Just letting you know that the owner is not duplicating reviews to boost their score. Just left for the first time. Got to say, whole experience was great. I had the Philly cheese steak with fries and a side of cabbage. Its HARD to find good cabbage but this place kicked it out of the park. Girlfriend had catfish and mashed potatoes. She adores the mashed potatoes. Catfish was crispy outside and juicy on the inside. Tartar sauce was a little sweet and MIGHT have had apples and cinnamon in it. I loved it personally. All together, a great experience and well definitely be coming back. The owner came and chatted with us a bit which I enjoy. Good food and a cool atmosphere.

Food here was very good! I grew up in the true south where we have lots of southern food, Memphis, TN and Chombos had that southern charm. On the other hand service was poor. Management should put forth some true training and improve the customer service and server skills. Drink orders took awhile to receive and when we did receive them server did not know if our utensil package had straws. They were out of French fries even though it was listed on the menu. We visited on a Saturday night at 5:30, prime dinner time. Wrong side was brought out and no explanation of how long it would be to re-order, etc.

Came here on Sunday after church. They were really busy. Our server notified us about a little bit of wait for the food to come out, which we didn`t mind, as we heard food is really good. Tried their Mango soda which is really good, made from sugar cane. I ordered 2 Piece Fried Fish Platter with yellow squash and mac&cheese. OMG that was the best Fish I ever ate, let me tell first i thought they brought me wrong plate as it was 4 Pieces of fish, but our server explained that its 2 WHOLE pieces just cut half. Squash had so much flavor to it. Will put this restaurant on my list :)

I dont really write reviews, but i came to Forney to visit my friend and she took for dinner. I felt in love with this restaurant and food. I ate fried fish and its amazing, and the portion is huge it says 2 piece fried fish, but it was 4 pieces of fish on my plate, as they serve you whole pieces and they cut them half. It tastes amazing. Owner stopped by our table, very nice gentleman, he told us that they are opening another location in Dallas, on Greenville ave, I was so happy, so i can enjoy this food in Dallas without driving to Forney :)

Showed up on a Friday night at 7:00 pm and walked in never got greeted by anybody, after sitting there for 15 mins waiting at a table we finally got a drink order taken care of, I am not impressed with the service, it looks like a bunch of kids running the place and they need a lot of customer service teaching. I am a rugular to dining out and this place isnt the best so far. I am hoping the food is better than the service.

First-timer. Had the link basket and was confused. Fries seemed to have gone through the oven, links were either deep-fried (over) or wildly overdone. Dry, not bad heat but needed salt badly. Tea was really watered-down. No service issues. I love supporting small business and encouraging more food options here in Forney, but this one was a miss. Hopefully other dishes there are better.

Ahhhh its been a min since Ive ate here since the relocation..the food just smell so delightful while driving home. I got the greens , yams n blackened fish..omg I swear to u everything was fresh n hot n tasty to the T..this is coming from a pregnant lady that picks at everything but man I was very satisfied.. I will be back for another entree!!!!

Awesome HOME COOKING food!!! Love their Chicken Fried Steak! The fact they cooking everything to order is unbelievable , not so may restaurant do that now days, u can taste the difference between processed food and REAL FOOD, i appreciate that, will support local business and be back!
