Its a hip looking place with a nice selection of coffee and beer. However, its pretty darn dirty. I know its an aesthetic theyre going for (which I like), but its just really dusty and grimey when it doesnt even need to be. Its almost like its supposed to be excusable given the style of the place. The beer selection is good, but the coffee drinks are not great. The food is small, overpriced and not that good (granted, thats typical for a coffeeshop). This is a coffeeshop I want to love, but Im always disappointed when I actually hang out here. By all appearances, this place should be great. Id even let the dirtiness go, but the drinks are really not good, especially for the price. A coffeeshop is about the ambience, drink quality and sit-ability and Mudsmith comes up disappointingly short on all of those. As someone who loves coffee, beer and coffeeshops, I am consistently disappointed after giving Mudsmith many tries. Even though I think many people would love this place anyway, I have to be in the minority and give it my honest review. I hope it gets better!

I havent been super impressed with anything Ive gotten here so far. Its all fine but the popularity is based on location and hipster tourism. People visiting the area feel like its funky and cute I think. This time I was sitting at the bar when they called my name. The guy who had taken my order pointed me out to the guy making drinks, who said something like "oh now you want me to take it over there?" (which would mean turning around and taking two steps). So order guy laughed and they left my drink there. I got up and walked around the bar to go get it. They both had plenty of time to chit chat with their other friend sitting three seats over from me though. I understand the expectation on my end but they have one too. They did what they were supposed to do but that was it. So its fine. Its okay. It passes. Its not exceptional and service isnt stressed.

Great place to go for some delicious coffee and a great atmosphere. The baristas are nice and the service is great. Many of them have been employed at Mudsmith for quite some time now so their speed and accuracy (making sure the drink tastes the same each time) is remarkable. The bathrooms are clean and there are like a million plugs available for you to plug in your electronic devices. My only complaint is the price of the sandwiches, especially with what you get. I ordered the jalapeno popper and it was tiny and the peppers were raw and cold. Not worth the $10 for a sandwich. Breakfast however is on point. All in all a good place to be and I will definitely be going back.

Im a NYer ( yes I know im over critical) so good coffee in my opinion is hard to come by in Dallas. The "poor-over" or "chemex" (at mudsmith) as we call it back home is the best coffee I have had since moving here last October. Infact its in the top five best cups of coffee I have ever had. SO glad my wife and I stumbled upon this place. The staff is super friendly too, they even remember us when we come in and already know what we want before I order! If you are very serious about good coffee get the poor-over. Motorcycle friendly too. Dallas has worse coffee than Saudi Arabia, this place is a gem.

So, this review is strictly based on an employee experience. I am planning a trip to Ft. Worth and we are needing a coffee shop where we are able to visit for a few hours and not feel rushed out the door. I found Mudsmith, called and spoke to Kiya. Kiya not only gave me great information about Mudsmith but she also had several recommendations for other things to do in FW. She spent about 10 minutes on the phone with me and has made me feel so welcome without even stepping foot into the coffee shop yet. Looking forward to visiting on July 21st. Thank you Kiya!!

Definitely an awesome hangout! Loved the atmosphere. Dark, cozy, industrial. Coffee was good, service was good, staff was friendly, no WiFi issues. The only thing that keeps me from giving it five stars is the parking. Best I can tell, its street side parking only. The parking lot behind and beside is marked for surrounding business with marked tow away signs. Again, I could have missed something but streetside seems to be the only parking. Once you find a spot, though, its golden from there!

The only redeeming value of the place was its decor. The prices were high, the service sucked, and the coffee (cappuccino) was mediocre, and the hot chocolate was awful. Furthermore, I pointed at a muffin in a dish on the counter and said "Ill have that chocolate muffin." The employee warmed it up and gave it to me all without so much as a word. Turns it out was a raisin bran muffin. Either he had no idea what he was giving me or he was a jerk. Im not planning on returning.

Pros: - Great space. - Plenty on power outlets to plug your devices in. Cons: - Slow Internet: 1.5 meg down ( at best ) & less than .5 meg up. - Poor servicecold coffee: - Employees are douche bag hipsters, including lady d-bags....but I guess that goes with the territory. This place used to have a fast internet connection, 25 down/20 up, which is why I use to come here. Theyve down graded...maybe to cut cost but your local Starbucks has a faster connection.

Loved the coffee here! Amazing. And I love that they have so much seating (with outlets available). I had been looking for a coffee shop close by that offered great atmosphere, a lot of work space (& outlets), with great coffee. I like that they also serve beer, but I have yet to partake in that part of the venue. I love the back room with the couches... a little tucked away, which is nice. Keeps that room quiet. Hands down my favorite little coffee shop.

One of the best coffee shops in Dallas, and Id say THE best for studying (as long as you dont mind the music). The tables are big and there are varying sizes from conference style, to 4 person tables to two person tables. And they serve alcohol, though dont expect a lot on the wine or cider side of things. Its mostly just beer from what I can tell. But its great to study, get some coffee, and go next door for a drink later on in the night.

Best coffee shop that Ive found in Dallas. I recently moved from Minneapolis where we have few chains and lot and lots of quality coffee roasters and baristas. Ive become a snob after living there. Its been very hard to find baristas and coffee shops that are up to my expectations in Dallas... Until now. This place knows what there doing! Great coffee and great atmosphere! Ill be back! Thanks for doing what you do so well!

The atmosphere is nice, the dead animals on the walls dont really match but I dont really mind. The issue is the sub par coffee. I can make better coffee at home. I have been here at least 5 times, cold brews are not sweetened with liquid they simply add dry ingredients that do not disolve. The one time I ordered an Americano they burnt it and still served it. I understand we all burn things but dont go and serve it after.
