Zero stars. I am writing this review again as it was deleted. The bar is definitely racist. I was at this bar with my boyfriend and friends one evening and was waiting at the bar to order a second drink for everyone. We watched as the bartender ask the white people around us for their orders and prepped the drinks. Even people who came to the bar after us were served and they skipped us. It took over 10 minutes to get drinks and the bar had fewer than 25 people in it. Therefore, my boyfriend left a $0.01 tip. We were not rude or mean and simply walked to the dance floor. Soon after this, the bouncer approached my boyfriend and asked to follow him to the front entry. My boyfriend asked what this was for as none of us were drunk and we were simply dancing. He would not say anything except to come with him. The rest of my party came with. The bouncer asked my boyfriend if he had a left a one penny tip at the bar. My boyfriend said yes and the bouncer asked why. My boyfriend explained we waited for an exorbitant amount of time for our drinks and it seemed we were purposefully skipped over, so he felt that was an adequate tip for the service we had received. He asked why we didnt come to the "proper authorities" or use the "proper channels" to voice our concerns. Talk about a loser bouncer on a power trip. My boyfriend said he didn’t appreciate being interrogated for not leaving what he thought was an appropriate tip and at this point people were obviously noticing him discussing this with us. We said we would be leaving and he then made comments and gestures to some patrons waiting to come into the bar suggesting we were drunk. For a dirty bar to insist that you tip their bartenders despite receiving sub par service seems ridiculous to me.

Terrible place. (See below for filing a formal complaint with the city). Came in with a group of friends. Our black friend showed up later. One of the nicest guys you could ever meet. His shorts were just a little bit below his knees. Our white buddy went out to show the rude bouncers that his shorts were the same length, if not a bit longer. I told my black friend to pull his shorts up above his knees and before he could do it the bouncer said that wont work and he needs to leave. Same discrimination that happened at Kung Fu Saloon. They ended up settling outside of court to avoid the public outrage, ended up paying the victims, and now they are under a federal investigation. IT IS ILLEGAL TO NOT POST A DRESS CODE AND THEN REJECT PEOPLE BASED ON THE IMAGINARY DRESS CODE DUE TO THIS BEING USED FOR BLATANT RACIAL DISCRIMINATION. THIS IS A CITY OF DALLAS VIOLATION. TO FILE A FORMAL COMPLAINT: The victim needs to go to the Dallas Courthouse on 2014 Main Street Dallas, Texas 75201 (8-4:30 PM). Go to the prosecution office located in Room 227 on the 2nd floor. Tell the person at the front desk that you would like to file a formal complaint. The City of Dallas will launch an investigation. Most of the time these shady businesses will settle out of court, usually giving you some cash, but they will be required to follow city code moving forward. Dont stand for this. Take action against what is wrong. Oh yeah, and they overcharged my card.. Good think the bank will take care of that. Terrible place. Avoid it all costs. Much better places to hang out in the area that will respect and allow your black / African American friends to enter.

We watched as the bartender asked people around us for their orders and prepped the drinks. Even people who walked up and stood next to us were served even as we tried to get her attention. If there was an option to give Knox Street Pub zero stars you better believe I would have chose it. Knox Street Pub is HORRIBLE. The older male bartenders were some of the most rude individuals I have ever met while being at a bar. I cant believe some of them are still employed, even if they are so called friends with the owner. If they dont like the way you dress/look they persistently abuse & belittle you while telling you to take your group back to McKinney Ave bars. Then they over charged several of us by hundreds of dollars, but only brought us the receipt for the drinks we ordered to sign. Luckily I get alerts sent to my phone every time I use my credit card or I might not have noticed. We went back the next morning and found the bartender who overcharged us. He swore it was just a mistake and that he sometimes swipes cards several times on accidents. What a load of bullsh*t. He is clearly a low life loser who tries to rip off younger customers thinking they are to naive to notice. My group of friends will not be returning here and Im telling anyone who mentions this place to avoid at all costs. There are much better places to go to in Dallas.

This place has terrible service. They were clearly not happy when I walked in, it became even more apparent when no bartender would serve me........after a 25 minute wait for a drink i asked for a receipt for being overcharged. The bartender promptly had the bouncer escort me out for asking for a receipt. The people here are racist and they think they can treat people anyway they want. They will be hearing for my lawyers and seeing a complaint filed against them with the city. First place i have experienced racism so blatantly in Dallas. Do not spend your money with these pricks.
