Just moved to Dallas 4 weeks ago and Googled "New York Style Delicatessen Near Me" early on my first Sunday morning here. Well, I went and ended up in line to get in, struck up a conversation with a very nice couple that was behind me, told them I was new to the area and just found this place. They grew up in the neighborhood surrounding the restaurant and informed me that I hit the Jackpot! They were absolutely right in more ways than one! We ended up sharing a table together and aside from them becoming my first friends here, we meet at the Deli-News every Sunday! If you want to eat at a true New York Style Deli, you have to eat here! Its over-the-top authentic and everything to eat is to die for! My favorites are: Chicken Soup (with Kreplach or Matzah Balls like my grandmother made!), Knishs (Potato, Kasha or Meat - my favorite: made with a mixture of Corned Beef, Pastrami and Brisket.) Bagel or Onion Loaf with Cream Cheese, Nova Lox, Capers & Onions; and finally their Chocolate Babka (made with Chocolate Liquer!) I hope you enjoy the experience of excellent food, atmosphere, superior service and comraderie as much as I do. All the best, LSW

If you go, pay with cash! They double charge you!!! I usually love this place, the food is great! The service or better put the lack of customer service from the manager has turned a customer who spends $45 or more each visit to another venue. I went in over the weekend, got. To-go order, he had to swipe my card twice and then I was charged $45.58, gave a $8.00 tip and was on my way. Got home and checked my bank and found out I was charged twice. The place was already closed by this time so I called them first thing Monday morning. Left my contact information and explained everything and never got a call back. Called again today and managers response as to why he didnt call was because he was waiting for the charge to go through (its still pending) and then he would give me the money back. I said great resolution for me, thanks for no help. So if you go, pay cash because they dont care about screwing you out of your money for days.

Im a New Yorker and Ive been trying to find a NY style deli for sometime now. So me and my friend found this place and decided to try it out. Now with all these places saying theyre food is authentic from NY, I wanted see for myself. Upon entering, the decor reminded me of home so that was a plus. It was a seat yourself table service restaurant. We sat down after deciding to eat in and the guy who was not a waiter mind you, asked what we wanted to drink. He brought our drinks and said some one will be with you. After waiting and sitting for 15 minutes with no one even acknowledging us, we decided to leave. I typically give spots the benefit of the doubt however the customer service in this place sucks! Im not going to pull the race card but we were the only minorities in the restaurant. I will not go back to this spot ever again. Not because of the food, since I didnt get a chance to experience it, but because of the service.

Today my coworker and I were extremely excited that we found a deli in our area. The prices were high, but for a good sandwich would be completely worth it. Upon carrying out lunch and opening it at the office, both of us were in dismay to see that we were just charged $14 per sandwich for a very sub-par meal. The bread just fell apart (and is not deli bread, but just cheap supermarket bread), and the meat, besides the amount of fat, was okay. Also, the pickle was not impressive and the sandwich came with a miniscule portion of coleslaw, which again wasnt worth talking about. Overall, the sandwich (ABC was what we each had) was not worth more than 6 or 7 dollars, and we will not be visiting there again.

Was told by the cashier that I was about to have the best Nova Lox ever and to not be scared by the price. Which was $18! I paid looking forward to this amazing lox. It was fine but not out of this world good. I had better and paid only $7. Plus didnt make me feel comfortable that one of the employees saw my chest piece and said the owner liked lucifer also and called him over to check my tattoo out. I have a faun tattoo. Yes a woman with goat horns but not in the satanic way. Just a mythical creature. I know I might get some backlash from this review but I dont plan on going back.

Walked out. Waited for five minutes as the only person in line. I had come alone. The staff ignored me, preferring instead to talk amongst themselves six feet away. Then, a couple comes in and a waitress immediately makes eye contact with them and calls: table of two? She ushered them right past me. I felt very offended. I guess you need two people to get seated here. And its too bad because I would have brought my wife here next time had I been able to try it this time. Not now. Best of luck to everyone else. I bet the food is great.

The food was excellent. It was one of the best eggs benedict that Ive had. BUT, the service was unbelievably bad. My Coke was NEVER refilled. Two of my friends ordered fresh toast and didnt get their syrup until 15 minutes after their food was brought to them. When we complained to the owner, our waiter began to argue with me and told me my expectations were too high for a Sunday morning. The manager comped my meal, but he still let his waiter argue with me.

Great New York style deli! Huge variety with both breakfast and dinner items, many of which include ingredients imported from New York. Also includes a great to-go counter with all the usual suspects - bagels, chopped liver, lox, brisket, pastrami, and so much more. Wonderful staff rounds out what has always been a great experience. PS - bacon, egg and cheese on an everything bagel with a side of breakfast potatoes sets pretty much anything right.

If youre from the northeast, this is the closest thing youll find to a hometown diner. The food is good and the staff is friendly. Its likely to be packed with customers and it does get a little noisy. Because the diner is small, it can feel a bit claustrophobic when all the tables are filled. Of the many times Ive eaten here, there hasnt been a single bad meal. Pick whatever you want from the menu and expect to taste good. They know what theyre doing.

First visit. REAL DELI! Cheeseburger is awesome. Thats not their specialty, so I cant wait to try everything else on the extensive, true to deli-style menu. This is the real deal so I was able to leave the pretend restaurants behind me and talk to real people. Even opposing political views are discussed with respect and genuine interest to find common ground. Hard to find a better neighborhood deli anywhere in Dallas.

So many different options you dont know where to start! I only went there once and tried the tuna. It was the best tuna fish Ive ever had <3 it was very delicate and light in flavor, it was fresh white albacore. Even the bread was different and had a great toast to it. To top it off, the cheese (provolone or swiss or something) was s0oO good and melted. Prices are high but worth it if youre looking for a delicious sandwich.
