Just had the worst experience at this place. Walked in and put in a simple to go order, where the guy at the counter had to reenter multiple times because he accidentally deleted it. It took over 30 minutes for them to make. When we finally get our food, the order is wrong. I asked for them to correct it, and it takes another 15 minutes for them to remake it. When they bring it out again its still wrong, and we ask for a refund. The lady at the counter lost out ticket and it took her forever to find it, and when she does she says shes giving us a refund and comping our meal. We sit down to wait in plain view of this woman, and after waiting ANOTHER 10 minutes, we ask where our food is. She says she didnt bother asking the cooks to correct the mistake because she didnt want them to mess it up again. What?? Why are these people working here if they cant make a simple order? We didnt order anything unusual even, just 2 build your own bowls. And this woman kept watching us wait there for food she didnt even put in an order for. Never going back.

I liked this place for a couple of visits, but quickly grew tired of it. Im the type to eat one of their "bowls" and Im not a fan of many of the options. When choosing from the ones that are a regular menu item (not build your own) most of the options are spicy which I cant handle. When you build your own, its usually just a bit boring, though tasty enough. The only thing I enjoyed quite a bit was the shrimp and bacon appetizer, though its not something I find myself craving a lot. My husband loves the Chuck Norris Chicken tacos, but I dont care for the pickled cucumbers. It is pretty cheap, and if you like sushi, I hear its a great, affordable option for that.

This place isnt bad but its not good either. For a place that offers "Japanese" fast-food, their menu doesnt come close to offering any type of Japanese cuisine. I ordered beef stir fry with rice and I ended up getting a bowl of soggy veggies, overcooked pieces of beef and undercooked rice. How the heck do you mess up on something so simple? I had to add a bunch of sriracha to chow that bowl of mess down. I couldnt even finish it and ended up throwing the rest away. What do you expected from a fast-food joint anyways? However the staff was informative for those who have never been there before.

Great staff and lots of healthy choices at reasonable prices. I recommend the Buddha Mix Build-Your-Own-Bowl with white chicken and Udon noodles and ginger-lime sauce. Lots of fresh veggies. The noodles remind me of dumplings and the sauce is flavorful without being too spicy. Its a great choice if youre trying to eat healthy!

Uses to roll past it quite a bit, then finally dropped in for an evening bite. Brilliant move! Love the Neo-Zen, laid back dining atmosphere. The food was absolutely delicious, very healthy and obviously a good hit and run choice for the health conscious elite of Austin. Not too expensive, but very tasty for the money!

This place is great option for healthy food that is pretty fast. They have a lot of options ranging from sushi, to sushi tacos, to healthy bowls. You can choose one of their selections or build your own bowl. I definitely suggest building your own bowl, they have a lot options for creating some really great meals.

They used to have a gluten-free and dairy-free menu, but you had to be super-careful because it was actually wrong. Theyve since eliminated the dairy-free portion of the menu, and the gluten-free options are weak. It tastes okay, but its not worth it for the cross-contamination if youre gluten-intolerant.

Good food, service and a shout out to Mandy. After a late lunch, I discovered I had low tire pressure in one tire. I went back inside to get some quarters and Mandy came to the rescue with a portable air compressor. She went out of her way to help a pregnant lady and her two year old. Thanks again !!!!

Though their hours say theyre open until 10pm, dont bother going after 9:30pm. Ive tried twice and received bogus excuses about their "computers malfunctioning forcing them to close early" and "sorry, inventory forced us to close early". Change your hours instead of wasting everyones time, thanks.

Fast casual Japanese noodle bowls and sushi. I am in love with the Dynamite chicken bowl with white meat and brown rice. I love the ambiance, which has smooth beats, and a red+black+white color scheme on the inside. They hook you up with a MTO meal if you want to build your own bowl.

The food at Zen is ok. I sometimes get the brown rice bowl with chicken veggies, but only if Im in the area--its definitely not special enough to travel for. Parking can be a little bit difficult, especially if you are trying to come from the North and have to cross Guadalupe traffic.

This place is great for good and fast Japanese food. I like to make my own bowl with chicken, Buddah blend veggies, and broth with brown rice - So Delicious!! Many of my coworkers like to get some of the pre-made sushi rolls; they say they are good (for a fast sushi place). :)

Mostly a bowl place... build-your-own, basic, or specialty. I usually get the Schoolgirl --- it is chicken and veg over rice with crunchy wanton strips and a serrano aioli drizzle (just slightly hot). They also have pre-packaged rolls that are made fresh on-site.

I almost never order off the menu (which recently changed) here, but instead grab their tasty sushi to go. You cant go wrong with the 7 pepper ahi tuna. I am only sad they apparently nixed the Dynamite roll, which was my favorite.

Non traditional sushi that is not very good. A lot of fried options and names that make no sense. I did not enjoy any I my meal here. My wife had a better experience than me but not great. Stick to more traditional sushi places.

They make for a good lunch, we got in and out with take-out on a busy day in about 10 15 minutes. The food is fresh and tastes great. I like the chicken teriyaki. Portions are a good size and prices are reasonable.

Zen is super good. They have all sorts of flavorful entrees to choose from, and fantastic service. The food comes out relatively quickly depending on how busy they are, I just wish there was more sauce sometimes.

This place has good sushi for the price. You cant expect gourmet sushi for such a cheap price and made so fast. I like the vibe and the food. Its a great place for lunch, or a casual outing with a friend.

GREAT SERVICE. I have a severe peanut allergy and they were very accommodating. They even brought my food out in a to-go container when I was eating there bc they serve peanut dishes on their regular dishes.

The best place for a quick lunch anywhere in Austin. Build your own bowl with fresh local produce, high quality meats, and gluten-free cellophane noodles to pair with savory sauces. Delicious!

As a college student I love Zen, its tasty, fast, and overall CHEAP. The quality you get for paying so little is great. Its also great food to eat on the go when running late to class.
