What can you say about this local favorite restaurant that has no actual menu that hasnt been said before? My family was on vacation from Baltimore and staying in Arlington. We just flew in and this place was close to our hotel and rated a top place to eat. Off we went on Fathers Day. When we got there we were told there would be a 45 minute wait but we actually got seated right away because there were so many large parties and they had a 4 top open up... Yay Us. The courtyard and restaurant are very kitschy and interesting. We were seated in a corner table that wasnt very comfortable to get in and out of but beggers cant be choosers. Wed never been here before, obviously, and the waitress explained the menu. 5 meat choices; Fried or Smoked Chicken, Chicken Fried Steak, Catfish, or Chicken Tenders. All of those get served with all you can biscuits, salad, green beans, mashed potatoes, and corn. Thats it. Fried Chicken - Delish. While the coating wasnt as seasoned as I would have hoped it was very crisp and perfectly fried. The chicken was super juicy and moist and had a good flavor like it was marinated in something before frying. You get a half a chicken per order. Chicken Tenders - same breading... same marinated chicken. Yummmmmm. Chicken Fried Steak - also very tasty Gravy - could seriously use some pepper... otherwise tasty Green Beans - these are Italian Green Beans and either they or the way they were prepared tasted weird to me Corn - Not a fan of canned corn... these were no exception Mashed Potatoes with gravy - add some pepper and I could have eaten a bucketfull Biscuits - flaky, buttery, all you can eat. What more could you want? Honey or Molasses... yeah thats on the table already. Butter? They got you covered too. Salad - iceberg lettuce with a sweet dressing. Nothing special but actually quite tasty. We would have tried dessert but nothing looked or sounded appealing to us. All in all it was a really great meal. Would certainly go back and probably eat here often if I was a local.

This is good southern cooking. If you didnt grow up in the south....it is a heavy meal for the uninitiated. This is real southern cooking. Reminded me of my mothers cooking. This is NOT diet food. We had the fried chicken. It is a little spendy but the food is great. You get chicken and unlimited sides. Sides you get are creamed corn, green beans, real mached potatoes and gravy. YUM!!!! Best chicken I have ever had in a restaurant. They also have Chicken fried steak, pot roast and catfish for the meat selection if chicken isnt your thing. The meal is about $13/person not counting drinks. My wife and I ordered the chicken. We got a whole chicken. This must have been a 50 lb chicken, pieces were large and meaty. We took several pieces home and ate for a couple more days. We went during the week and got right in. I image this place is a mad house on the weekend. Decor is has the facades of a small town, hardware store, auto repair shop. They have a water tower too. You walk into the restaurant under it. While we were there, one of the waitresses walked around with a microphone and sang Unchained Melody. She was pretty good. Good food, nice atmosphere, Ill be back.

Cheyenne was our server and she was nice but she was not very attentive. We requested napkins and a high chair 4 different times, she put her hand across the top of my cup as if her hand was a lid (which was extremely gross!) So I left the water because idk where her hands have been. The food was not very good as we had very good experiences here before tonight. We arrived at about 7 and it took her 5 to 8 minutes to bring our food out which lead me to believe the food was already done or was sent back from about her table. The fish had a very fishy taste to it and it was extremely salty as if they were trying to hide the fishy taste, and the green beans were too salty and smelled burnt so we didnt eat them at all. Overall the best part about coming to babes today was the fact that we were sitting in a spot where we could hit 2 pokestops( Babes was not one of them, and we were able to set up a lure. Needless to say we will not be back. It takes one experience to turn me off from a place and the fact that I drove from fort Worth for horrible fish really annoys me.

I first discovered this little gem up in Roanoke, TX. I fell in love with the delicious chicken fried steak and all you can eat side dishes. Then I went on a mini vacation with my family and ended up here at the new Arlington location. The decor is a little stale and the lighting a little too dark but the food is still awesome. The pieces of fried chicken were smaller than I remember but still juicy and delicious, and the side dishes are ever so mouth watering. They have more sides here than the Roanoke location and the biscuits melt in your mouth! The family-style-serve-yourself ambience is just what we were looking for. The look of astonishment on my girlfriends at the sight of my sons and I scarfing down serving after serving of side dishes was hilarious! If the pieces of chicken were a little bit bigger, this place would be perfect. Oh, they open at 5pm during the week so its basically a dinner place. I wish they had one of these close to Houston. I would gain like 20 lbs. In a month!

We ordered takeout because this place was so busy, and for good reason. Even with takeout the food was still warm and crispy. They had a 10 min parking area just for that and a separate door which made it quick and easy. The chicken was crispy, flavorful and juicy. The skin actually had flavour, even the breast which is harder to do. The Country fried steak was on point and the gravy with it! WOW. Other country fried steaks are to battered or to tough, this one was how they should be. The biscuits were light and fluffy and the sweet corn was a sleeper hit, it was amazing. The mash potatoes were creamy and seasoned very well. The green beans, although not our thing, others would love and we still ate a bunch. We got the coconut meringue pie and it was delicious, fluffy and toasted well. It wasnt overtly sweet to make you feel like you are eating just whipped cream like so many others. I wish we had taken a photo but it was too darn good to wait!

Love love love this place for their food . Been here plenty of times with friends, family , coworkers. A night my family and I decided to come here , we were seated almost immediately! Very good . Upon reaching the table , we all sat down and waited for someone to approach us and greet us . We saw several servers standing around , as well as many walked past us (noticed we were there & they were also empty handed) no one said a work to us . Around us there were tables getting greeted , being check on , etc all the while were still waiting (15minutes in) for someone to even take our drink orders ! Another large family walks in and are immediately greeted (server trailed them to the table BEHIND US) and orders were placed . We then got up and proceeded to leave . Never have we ever felt that way while dining there . Im very disappointed with the service and even lack of emotion when explained to the managers ! You guys definitely lost good customers
