I had been looking forward to finding a great bakery and had tried to go several times, but their hours were not convenient. Since this site didnt make it clear that cakes had to be special ordered, I had rushed to get there by 1.30 in time to pick up a birthday cake. The gentleman cooking was nice and checked to be sure I wasnt wanting a sandwich before he left. However the lady at the register was irritated when I asked about buying a cake. She repeated in a sharp tone that cakes were special order only. Ok, I got it and I would have purchased some of the counter goodies had I felt more welcomed. I have had great pastries from around the globe and I am sure these are tasty, but treat your new customers with more respect and patience. I see some others stated this complaint, so it is not just me who felt this. I will spend my money elsewhere thank you.

The owners/two individuals who help customers at the front are very rude. they do not like crumbs, children who are not perfectly behaved, or apparently certain individuals in the neighborhood who frequent the establishment, but are not their friends. They have in fact yelled at/reprimanded my kids twice in the establishment for reasons that were completely inappropriate, in my opinion, and I confronted them immediately afterwards only to receive more rudeness. my kids were not out of control by any means, and I had already corrected them myself. we used to be go once or twice a month to buy breakfast for my kids, and would always choose to buy a selection of items for staff meetings from this place, but on to Ugly Mugs where the muffins are much better and the service is amazing.

Sweet 16th is amazing! The "One to Go" breakfast sandwich is my absolute favorite breakfast sandwich in the entire world...maybe even the universe. The lasagna and quiche are also good, but the "One to Go" is this perfect combination of a savory casserole with just the right amount of kick and a slightly sweetened cheese scone. The sweet treats are also very tasty, especially the chocolate fudge brownies...the best tasting brownie Ive ever had. My husband also bought me a birthday cake from Sweet 16th a couple of times, and it was delectable each and every time.

The line can get long at Sweet 16th, especially on Saturdays, but the assorted seasonal sweets, cupcakes, pastries, and scones are definitely worth the wait. Theyre known for their breakfast sandwich--an egg casserole on a cheddar scone, as well as a something known as a "grittata"--a slightly different egg casserole set atop a layer of grits. You cant go wrong ordering anything out of the pastry case, but dont miss the peach crumble bar if its in season or any of the chocolate-coconut items.

Sweet 16 staff were so lovely. My boyfriend and I were visiting from Canada and needed to call a cab as our wifi was not working at our air B and B. They called a cab for me and even brought us out 2 bottles of water as it was hot outside and the cab was 15 minute wait. We also enjoyed a delicious crowbar that was amazing!! Great experience !! Will recommend to all people travelling to Nashville, in such a cute area too :)

I work for Universal Heating & Cooling, Inc. and have talked to the Einsteins for many years taking care of the a/c needs but have never had the opportunity to visit their bakery. Mike brought our office staff back some cookies last week and all I have to say is AMAZING!! We have always heard Mike go on and on about how good the oatmeal raisin cookies are but this time we got a taste!! Five star for sure!!

Such a fantastic, unique, local bakery! Love the breakfast sandwich as a savory item!Tons of fun choices for sweets too! Oh, plus they offer a legit assortment of deli type food items (e.g. lasagna, quinoa salad, and more). Great, great people - neighborhood staples! An absolute must to take any out of town visitors. It is totally consistent also -a mark of a really good eating establishment.

I have been many times before, and my experience has always been good to excellent. Today they really surprised me with what was honestly the best scone Ive ever eaten. A humble pastry became an amazing treat, and paired with a cup of High Garden tea it felt extravagant. I love this bakery, and I love these people for giving me the least fussy East Nashville food experience around.

Amazing! Ellen sand Dan are always here to make your day better with all the wonderful things served here. Order one to go and iced coffee with "crack" line is definitely with the wait and usually moves quickly. Cant forget to leave without one of their dog treats or my fur baby will get jealous. So glad to have this neighborhood treasure so close by!

I called to ask if they had their cheesy egg breakfast biscuit and before I could even finish she cut me off and said, "yes, we have them till 2". I said, "oookay, thanks!" And she said, "thank you, bye". Coarse and a little rude to cut me off. Hated that. However, their food is killer! Be nicer and more patient, please ;)

Easily our favorite neighborhood eatery! Ellen is lovely. The cheesy eggy breakfast scones, delightful. And if I want to treat one of our "littles" to a mom + me date this is the spot. The quiches, pastries, and coffee are fresh and unique...lowest price around.

Go in the morning, order "1 to go" and thank me later. Your waistline might not thank me, but you will. (Heads up, they usually take a pretty extensive summer break, so check to be sure they are open if you are trying to go in July or August.)

Very friendly, corner, neighborhood market! Treated like a long lost friend when you walk in the door. The breakfast sandwiches and pastries were delicious and well portioned. Reasonably priced and quite a treat in the morning.

A quaint coffee shop with delicious food but the owner is what makes the experience fantastic. Very friendly and wants to make a connection with her customers. Will have to come back the next time we are in town!

Forget about bringing home the bacon. Momma wants me to bring home the Sweet 16th. Anything from here will get you out of trouble with anyone. Fantastic for the taste buds, bad for the waist, but worth it.
