This used to be one of our favorite restaurants. Whether it was taking the kids to dinner to kick off 4th of July while on vacation or a spontaneous Sunday afternoon lunch after we finally moved here. Okay, so its been awhile since they went to the all day menu - no problem. But yesterday my husband and I went for lunch and I hope it was just a bad day, but it was terrible and the only reason I am giving it two stars instead of one is because of the ocean view. My husband ordered the Beach Club Melt, which we expected a two inch thick sandwich. It was remarkably small and not worth the $10 price tag. I ordered the garden salad with grilled chicken. I was impressed with the generous serving of chicken, however, it wasnt seasoned and it was very dry. We were so dissapointed. The service was good, the view was awesome but the food left much to be desired and we are not picky eaters. Sorry.

Ive been coming to the conch with my family since I was a child. I love coming here and sitting outside looking over the water its always so relaxing and beautiful... The other great news is how awesome the food is especially the calamari.. it just about melts in your mouth... We also had the seafood platter, my favorite was the shrimp and flounder. Great seasoning in the batter on the shrimp and the Flounder was simply delicious light and not fishy. . And to top it off we had just about every frozen drink on the list and to this day I still cant find a better margarita. Im so happy this place is still open and that they havent changed, so I can continue creating fond memories with my own family.

Indoor outdoor seating waterfront, full bar casual beach dinning. Simple menu calamari done to perfection ( not over cooked rubber bands) I had the shrimp and crab cakes, tasty. my wife had the fresh fish special which turned out to be $11 dollars more than my regular item meal so not so special at $32.but said it was very good. Overall a nice place to relax with a drink outside and have a decent meal plus a 8 min. Stroll down the beach from our condo is a nice walk in the evening to work off the meal.

Rude staff & management . Rude to locals , changes policy on take-out orders to suit them ,reason being only wants customers to drink over priced cocktails while waiting for orders . No respect to locals who ordinarily would support year round . I live accross the street in large developement where many residents will never visit this establishment again for the above reasons . As well as over priced as well as small portions for frozen seafood , not fresh !

Since my last review a few years ago, Conch Cafe has really stepped up. Their dinner menu has improved and they offer reservations which you will need if bringing a large group. I would definitely consider Conch Cafe a dinner worthy restaurant now. 2017 update: visited agin with my family this year. Did the tenderloin with grilled scallops, grilled shrimp, asparagus, and hollandaise. It was prepared perfectly. Family was very happy with them as well.

The food here is very good. We ate here on St. Patrick Day. I had the soup special for the day which was Guiness Potato Chowder, which was delicious. Prices are reasonable and the staff is friendly. The view is awesome, as the Cafe sits right on the beach We arrived fairly early and had a short wait. By the time we finished our meal and were leaving there was a fairly long line waiting to be seated. Even so, we did not feel that we were rushed.

Great value for the food. We went here the first day we arrived at Surfside. I got the tuna salad sandwich an hubby got the shrimp po boy. Both were filling and delicious. Great atmosphere. Went again tonight and Haley was our waitress. She did an excellent job although over booked and our food was delicious. I got the seafood plate an there Was so much shrimp and scallops I couldnt eat it all. It Was so wonderful. Great place!

The atmosphere is nice. However, service was extremely slow. It took a server 15 minutes to just come ask what we wanted to drink. The place was not that busy. I ordered a seafood salad and was thoroughly disappointed that it had imitation crab meat in it. I mean, the place is at the beach. Real crab meat would have been nice and what I was expecting. I will never go back and I do not recommend this restaurant.

Went here with my wife and sister-in-law for dinner. Their food was good I ordered a steak medium and it came to me almost burnt very well done. I sent the state back and had to wait while my wife and sister-in-law finished their meal for my food to come out then they had to wait on me to eat my steak afterwards. Also ask the server to place an order for me that I could take afterwards and she forgot to do so.

Great view is the best part of this place. Unfortunately the soups were terrible. The catch of the day was excellent, I had it blackened with veggies - a fine meal. My partner sent back the first soup and the second was not much better. The kids meals were standard fare -nothing special - the kids ate it and thats good enough for me. Service was just fine, seated, attended, and served food quite quickly.

Excellent Choice for Seafood: My wife and I dined at Conch Cafe on 02/27/2012. The indoor dining has a great view of the beach. The atmosphere is causal and very nice. I had the grilled shrimp and crabcake and my wife had the grilled salmon. Our food was excellent and the server was very attentive and deficient. I highly recommend it. Dinner was about $40 + tip for the two of us.

Walked to Conch cafe from where we were staying at Summer Winds Beach House with my family including my one year old daughter. We ate inside which was very nice but the outside seating had a great view of the ocean. Our waitress and service was great. The flounder sandwich, she crab soup and seafood salad were all very good. The pricing was also reasonable.

Ive been going to Surfside Beach and staying at the Oceanside Village for over 25 years. The Conch Cafe is still a favorite place and has good food, excellent service, fair prices, and overlooks the ocean! Even stayed standing through Hurricane Hugo in 1989 and still excellent! Variety of foods, sandwiches, salads, fish, chicken, and steak.

The web says they take reservations and they dont!!!!. The manager is very rude and assured that his business is so good that they will boldly tell you they are busy enough without taking call-in orders even though you are just across the street. With that I wish the rude manager a long and successful career in the management business!!!!!

Pretty happy with most of the food. Terrible shrimp salad. But the rest was good. Very noisy bar atmosphere.. People literally yelling loudly. Not a nice dinner place...more a fun be loud and overbearing kind of place. So if your in that mind frame..by all means. But we would have enjoyed talking to each other which was impossible.
