The ambiance was of course good, but ambiance is nothing if the front house staff and the chefs dont love what they are doing. Trust me this operation has a lot of love going into the food quality and service. I know they use quality ingredients because I went with a friend of mine who delivers most of their local produce to them from Blackbird Market on Johns Island, thats always a big check mark for me. Veggies fresh? Check. We started off with a seemingly unpretentious dish of grilled onions and shishito peppers, very simple preparation and presentation. They were excellent and the perfect start to warm the palate up. Next up was the kale Caesar salad. I have to say Im not a massive kale fan, but after a few bites I forgot I was eating kale, the mix of pink, purple and green baby kale is a work of art and was very tender and flavorful without too much bite that I associate with kale in general. Perfect blend of Parmesan and anchovies balancing this salad out perfectly. We had the benefit of trying out Indaco during restaurant week so please dont judge ;) Next up was a course of pizzas. Im a pretty harsh critic of pizza and almost always order a margarita pizza to get a feel for how well any pizza on the menu will be. Its a very simple pizza but one that is extremely easy to mess up. Im happy to report that they nailed it! Great thin crunchy outer crust that gets more tender as you move towards the center of the pie. The pizza sauce had a nice balance and wasnt too acidic and carried a hint of smoke from their oak wood over. Kudos! The other pie was their Brussel sprouts, ricotta, apples, pancetta, honey. Oh my was this a winner. Its not a combo I would choose, but I was actually envious of my dinner companions choice. Im going to shorten this up, but our last two dishes and deserts we on par as well. He had the black pepper tagliatelle which is one of their house made pastas. Again a deceptively simple dish that is easy to ruin, the pasta was beautiful and amazingly rich and delicious. I had the lamb shank osso bucco with parsnip and apple purée, nduja, Crowder peas, mustard greens. Dear lord. I dont know what the preparation on this was but the lamb was falling off the bone tender and the flares were sweet and lightly smoky and they somehow managed to erase the typical gamey overtones of lamb and wrangle them into a subtle background accent. The crowder peas that accompanied the dish had a nice spicy bite to them that balanced everything out. My only minor nitpick with the dish is that it would have been the perfect place to drop a wedge of hearty bread to help push everything around with. Deserts were light and creamy vanilla bean panna cottas. Great way to end the meal! I 100% recommend Indaco and am already thinking about what Im going to order the next time I visit.

Our family of six had an amazing time here! Our favorite antipasta was the burrata...yumm! We shared the sausage pizza which was delicious as well. Between us we ordered all the pasta offerings but one. Mine was the best of course with the fresh crab, but everyone loved them all!! We did decide to share one meat course and chose the rabbit with spaetzle. The spaetzle was delicious, but the rabbit was under seasoned and on the dry side. Would have been very dissapointed had it been my entree. But they have the Pasta thing down! Definitely would go again for the pasta! Oh, and the service was impeccable!

What a great spot for a meal in Charleston! After trying many of the local spots for oysters, shrimp and southern fare, we wanted something a little different. Indaco was perfect! On the recommendation from our server, Larry, we ordered a great Super Tuscan and slowly made our way through the menu. The Polpette meatballs were outstanding as was the Insalata with pickled banana peppers. The Brussels Sprouts pizza was a show stopper though. You have to try it. The honey was the perfect touch that brought all of the flavors together. Thanks for making our last night in Charleston extra special!

While waiting for 3 thin crusted pizzas, our waiter brought over a dish of 6 meatballs on the house. The meatballs were better than my own familys ones. Meatballs consisted of exceptional quality veal, pork and prime meat with fresh basil. 5 stars. Next time, I will order off the menu and have them place the meatballs over a plate of pasta. So good, I ordered a second round. The pizza- as fine as any thin crusted Pizza in Manhattan or Brooklyn. We also had the 64 ounce steak. Palm or Peter Luger quality. We liked everything at Indaco. Highly recommended.

Visiting out of town and decided to give this place a try. I was greatly disappointed. I orderd the Tonnarelli which was recommended by the server. Confused why this place has such high reviews because all I got was small plate of cheap spaghetti with tiny pieces of crab. The presentation was lacking and basically slopped on like cafeteria food. The meal had no flavor, was bitter, and just plain not good. A waste of money. Avoid this place if youre looking for a quality meal instead of a $5 plate disguised as a $25 plate

This place is weird. No Cab by the glass. No red sauce entrees. Zero traditional Italian apps or plates. Bartendress was just rude. Bartenders beard was flat intimidating. Needed a hair net as he pounded out drinks that I know Italy doesnt know. Finally got some meatballs in red sauce because hello the bartendress suggested it to my seat mate milennials, who asked me to move over without the word please. Aint happening. Oh, and the red sauce was worse than my Scottish grandmas.

mmm... k. charleston has really upped its pizza game over the years. (that and Q) being said, would never slam someone in a public review. especially in most restaurants owners mortgage their own homes just to realize a life long dream. then foodie guy comes along and smashes them because the ice in the water was too cold. 4.5/5 just because the pizza, priced where it was, relatively speaking, was not even close. everything else was gooodliscious!

I wasnt wowed by going here for a friends birthday dinner. My sister got the gnocchi entree and for $30 it was not nearly the right portion size. It was literally about 4 bites. I got a pizza, which was great, nothing special. We also split a bottle of wine, and for 3 ladies it wasnt even 1.5 glasses each for $50. Food was good, but overall it was just an overpriced downtown restaurant. Ive had better.

One of the best Italian restaurants Ive been to in quite a while! Great ambience and very professional, attentive staff. The cavatappi pasta was exquisite for its simplicity and wonderful flavor. The margherita pizza was fantastic:crispy crust, fresh basil, and a delicious tomato sauce. One of the best margherita pizzas Ive had! Highly recommend if your in Charleston. Perfect for a romantic evening!

Our experience was not good which is a shame because food is OK. My allergic son cannot eat dairy but was still brought pasta with Parmesan. Luckily we saw it. The waitress blamed miscommunication between her and the kitchen. We had to ask for bread many times and also my dish arrived late. So, service was not good to say the least. Would not go back.

Do NOT go to Charleston and neglect to dine at Indaco. The hubby and I ended up here on a whim when deciding about late night dinner. OH MY GOD! There are not words in the English language to describe how amazing the food here was. The bar was excellent, the wait staff was amazing. I have absolutely NOTHING even remotely negative about Idaco.
