I dont write a lot of reviews, usually I do when the service is extremely terrible or extremely awesome. This place is by far the latter. My absolute biggest take away from here wasnt really about their food. A couple of weeks ago on a Sunday evening, 8 of my friends and I were driving back to Washington, DC from Harrisburg and decided to stop and get something to eat. When we walked in, the staff were friendly and immediately and easily accommodated all of us. The first thing I did was ask about a plug, as my cellphone was dying (like 15% battery left), my server went off to find out if they could plug it in for me, while I went to my car to grab my own charger. When I came back inside, I approached who I thought was the manager (didnt realize until we were leaving later on that he was actually the owner - super nice guy) and asked about plugging in my phone. He looked in a couple places around the restaurant to see about an open outlet, to no avail. He said he would be right back, and went into the kitchen. I thought he was looking for an open plug in there. Turns out he went to grab his personal industrial looking battery/charger/car starter thing that was about as large as an Xbox controller. Anyway, he handed it to me without hesitation and let me use it to charge my phone while I was there. He ended up leaving without asking for it back, although I did leave it with the manager on duty. He went way above what he had to. I mean seriously he could have just told me flat out no, or looked around not seen any open plugs and said sorry I cant help you, but instead he got something that belonged to him and handed over to a complete stranger. Now that is not just GREAT customer service, thats just being an awesome person. Thanks Karl!! Anyhow, I had the sampler because I wanted to try some different things, including their AWESOME Pumpkin Pie shake that apparently had REAL pumpkin Pie in it. Seriously amazing!! I wanted more. All the food was great because it tasted like it was made from scratch, not store bought BS or frozen and then cooked. It also didnt have that overly greasy, reheated flavor that you usually get at a diner or greasy spoon kind of place. Everyone I was with absolutely loved his or her food as well. A couple of people had some Venison steaks and said they were perfect. Our server couldnt have been friendlier and the over all atmosphere was what we were looking for at the time. The pricing was pretty decent for the amount of food they give you. At any chain restaurant, the same price would barely get you a child size portion. It was well worth it. Honestly, the only complaint anyone had after we left was how horrible it was that they werent closer to Washington, D.C. The next time I go back north into Pennsylvania, I WILL definitely be stopping in to get some more food from them. I definitely recommend Central Family Restaurant - if you dont at least stop in and try something, youre missing out.

-+This place is probably one of the best restaurants in York. Seriously, my family & I will purposely avoid eating at most restaurants in York just because of poor service & food quality. Not the case here. The waitresses are always very nice & accommodating. The quality of food is good. I never got anything here that I didnt like & I would consider myself very critical in regards to food quality. I have to commend the owners/management of this restaurant for knowing how to run a business the way it should be. They take an active role in communicating with the customers & know the importance of customer service. I highly recommend their dutch style chicken Pot Pie on Wednesdays. Also their soups are great. Fries are always hot & made right. Fountain beverages are perfect & not watered down or overly sweet. I see many families & business people from down town in here all the time that come in to enjoy the good food & atmosphere. Prices are very fair as well.

Good quality food, reasonable prices, & excellent customer service 7 days a week! If someone is dissatisfied with their order, the owner and his staff will make it right. Carl always reminds me that if I dont like something, send it back & hell replace it. Hes very accommodating & cares about the quality of service & food hes putting out. In all the years Ive been dining there, Ive only had 1 unpleasant experience with a waitress. I notified the owner via his online forum, he apologized for my experience personally the next time I went in & accomdated my meal. You seat yourself, wait time for food is average even on a busy day. When I carry out, I call ahead &they give me a 15 min wait time. My food is always bagged up&ready to go when I arrive. I love this place!

Was in town from Pittsburgh installing a Playground for Dallastown Area School District. Dont line to eat breakfast at greasy fast food restaurants so gave Central Family Restaurant a try. Needed to get in and out right away so I could be at job site by 7:00 AM. Hostess was courteous and took care of me right away. Ordered number 2 on menu. 3 eggs, home fries, ham and toast ($5.75). Shocked when I saw the huge portion. Large slab of ham. Ton of potatoes. 4 pieces of toast. Couldnt eat it all. Would recommend restaurant to anyone who wants a good breakfast at a great price. Havent eaten dinner there but judging from the homemade pies I saw on the way out I am tempted to go back and give dinner a try

My husband and I went to the Harley plant for tour. I had looked up restaurants around area and read reviews your restaurant has high positive reviews now we know why. The waitresses were very friendly prompt with big smiles. Food was all home made delicious hot out of kitchen and prices were very very reasonable. Portions very generous all food was delicious. Highly recommend for any time of day. We will certainly come back.

Been there several times now. Down home delicious cooking. The daily specials are always done well and the service is very courteous. Last week I waited in line for the first time for breakfast seating. While waiting Karl came through the line and brought us all fresh orange juice on the house. Who does stuff like that anymore!? They take great pride in what they are doing there and its good to see a business run like this.

Okay place. Food was okay. They had a large menu which was nice. Value for the money varies. I had a buffalo chicken sandwich for about 9 bucks. Very good value for the quality. My sister got fried chicken at about 13 bucks not so great for the quality. Overall impression is its fine.
