I have been going here for years. I live 3 minutes away and enjoy the bagels. The problem is that Jan, the owner, is a real jerk! Customer service is not in his vocabulary. This past Wednesday at 3:30 pm I placed an order for 75 sliced bagels to be picked up at 6:45 the following morning. The women that took my order checked in the back to be certain the order could be completed and ready for a quick pick up. I even pre-paid to expedite the pick up on Thursday AM as I had a time issue. I was told it would be ready. When I came to pick up, the staff reacted as if they did not even know the order existed. I understand mistakes happen, but I expected more. It took 10 minutes to get the order ready and I was 10 minutes late. I stopped by today to speak with Jan. I expected a simple "Im sorry, I should have done better". What I got were excuses about young, inefficient, slow staff that does not know what is going on. I was shocked at his lack of accepting responsibility and understanding. He said I should have placed the order earlier and it was an unrealistic expectation to expect my order to be ready. I told him the women checked and cleared the order. He did not care. What a miserable guy!!!

I was in this establishment today and to be honest I felt like I was descriminated against. There are majority white patrons there. I came in an ordered a pizza bagel. The girl who took my order took my name as well. First I waited a table for 15 min then started walking around even to the counter where I ordered where the same girl kept asking me had I been helped. I was not busy in there at all where they should have recognized I still did not have my food. the watched me walk around unit I finally went back to the counter and asked how long does it take for a bagel. One girl when over to find my food sitting on the table. the bagel was cold. she then had the nerve to ask if I paid when I paid with the order. she was unapologetic and and emotionless. As the of the girls were. I left out the store then came back to ask for a supervisor was also not caring at all. said im sorry with no emotion because I guess she felt like she had to. this was one of the worst experiences and I will continue to let the public know. I watched people get their food and leave. Even though they had my name I was never called for my food that just sat behind the counter

Expensive prices for very average coffee and bagel options. A bagel and coffee costs almost as much as an average burrito, but the quality is nothing special. The atmosphere here is a nostalgic mix of early 90s Seattle vibes, but with an intellectual bent. You can enjoy an overpriced bagel while reflecting on the legacy of Philadelphias historic mainline. But seriously, unless youre on the spectrum of suburban privilege and Prius ownership, youre likely to be the least white person here. Its possibly the most overtly psuedo-liberal coffee shop Ive ever seen.

I have been buying bagels from Delancey Street Bagels for many years; however, the last FOUR times I have gone there, they have shorted my 1-dozen bagel order. Today, I watched and counted as the girl put the bagels in the bag and called her on it. She tried to count them (they were already in the bag) and said that she did indeed short me one bagel. When I got home, again, she had actually shorted me two!!

Wait was long. It was hot in the cafe. Huevos rancheros burrito was an omelette with tostios salsa thrown on it. It was cold once we got them, yet it took 20mins for us to get our food. Cafe area was dirty and trash was overflowing. Flies everywhere. Just saw the cooks outside for a break...pretty sure they were on a break when we ordered. Never coming back!

I dont think Ive ever had a good customer experience here. The food is half-way decent but it takes FOREVER! It takes 40-45 minutes for your order to come up. Better not be in a rush. Its like this every. single. time.

This place is just awful. They hire inept kids to work behind the counter, overcharge for their food, and are slow. Not even their muffins (which look deceptively awesome) are good. What a colossal letdown.

Fast friendly service. And for a primarily bagel place the food is tasty. Maybe a little pricey but not out of whack for a place in the Main Line. PS I dont drink coffee but their iced tea is very good.

They never have gluten free bagels available everytime I come here despite what they advertise. The staff is not been very friendly or helpful either. At least recommend another option on your menu!

High quality and tasty food. Friendly well trained staff. What is not to like. Good place to meet for casual breakfast. It all starts with great bagels and coffees, but everything is good.

Bagels are pricier than other local shops, but taste both fresh and homemade. Ive only been going here since April 2014, but have found the staff to be friendly and courteous.

Poor quality bagels. I dont even think they bake them on site, as I got there once at 6a and they were leftover in bags from the day before. Overpriced and not worth it.

Just ordered delivery from them. Just dont do it. Order was wrong. It looks like prison food and they put the drink in the same bag as the food and it leaked.

The service isnt quick by any means, but the bagels and coffee were delicious. A nice, solid place for breakfast. It can also get crowded quite quickly.

Love the food and service. Bagels are amazing (much better than Bruegers in my opinion) and the options are much better.

I love this place. Extremely good bagel sandwiches and unlimited coffee make this a great sit and chat kind of place.

Bagel was tasty. We came at the end of the day and it was quiet and tons of seating. Very pleasant staff.

Any sandwich that has the marinated string cheese is going to be good, but my favorite is the tuna melt.

Our go-to bagel place in the area. A bit on the pricy side, but worth it compared to the competition.
