THIS PLACE IS CASH ONLY. Youre welcome. The ATM fee is $1.80, otherwise. A friend of mine raves about the tofu hoagies here. Ive tried them a couple times now -- just under $5 for a sandwich is pretty good, but I wish it had more veggies. Its mostly sweet fried tofu, with a little carrot/daikon, cilantro, and a few big slices of jalapeno (which try as might, I cannot take a bite out of without burning my lips off --- you can ask them to hold the peppers but theres nothing to balance all the sweetness without it!). My husband likes the tuna salad hoagie -- its double the size for $7 (unfortunately they dont upsize the tofu one, Ive asked). The couple times hes had it its been pretty soggy, tho. Were feeling so-so about the hoagies, but will keep going back because of the convenience/price. The market itself is very sweet. Loads of interesting organic, gourmet, and pan-asian grocery items, including dark chocolate candy bars, quality soba noodles, vegan meat substitutes, and baking ingredients. I havent seen any organic produce here. Prices can be steep but its nice to have this type of stuff in the hood. The outdoor seating area is pretty adorable, too.

I have never understood the West Philly obsession with this place. Its a grocery store slash deli that stocks hipstery vegany Asian items but its tiny and overpriced. I have never eaten anything from the actual deli that tasted so spectacular that it was worth raving out. The thing people most love is the tofu hoagie, which to me tasted like every other tofu hoagie Ive ever had. For me Fu-Wah is a last resort for a grocery item when you have nowhere else to go. Pro-tip: you can find a lot of their grocery items two blocks up the street at Mariposa for half the price.

If you thought this was just another corner store with a deli, think again. Two words: Tofu Hoagie. Even if you hate tofu, try this. Their secret family recipe will have you rethinking everything you thought you knew about tofu. And the chargrilled pork is a strong second. And they also have just about everything despite their small footprint. Veggies & fresh herbs. Awesome chocolate. Chips out the wazoo. Canned, boxed, & packaged everything. And all of it is delicious. Plus Dave is the nicest guy ever.

Fu-wa is just what a little neighborhood market should be. Theyve got the usual suspects of milk, newspapers and toilet paper. But theyve got a small selection of fruits and vegetables as well. In addition, theyve got a decent selection of Asian food products given the small size of the store. But the standout is the food - specifically the Vietnamese hoagies. Where theyre chicken of tofu, these are hands down one of the tastiest and unique hoagies around. And the owners are nice to boot.

I am by no means a tofu person, but their tofu hoagie (with everything on it) is absolutely delicious. Its the only thing I order from them. For $4.30, its totally worth it. I work just around the corner a few days a week, and they never disappoint. I would recommend calling ahead to order regardless of the time of day because they get backed up, and rightly so. Make sure you have cash, though. There is an ATM on site for convenience.

Great sandwiches and decent prices, not much to complain about. We get sandwiches from here about every other week, they always have fresh ingredients. Our favorite is the pork banh-mi, but they also make a mean Italian. The only downside is that they are cash only, but its not a big deal. They also have a number of specially + local brands that you dont often find elsewhere.

The heavy-set Itilian looking guy was rude when we walked in. We spoke and said Goodmorning and he did not speak back. Bad customer service. It smelled funny, like spoiled produce covered up by Fabuloso, so we decided not to do business with them and dont recommend them to you either.

Ive been a Fu Wah fan since they first opened. Its a cute and clean, family-run corner store that has everything you would need and more! Of course their tofu hoagies are practically world famous! But I also love the great selection of natural and Asian foods.

This is a West Philadelphia hidden gem. The banh-mi sandwiches are out of this world. They are made to order, so youll have time to shop for groceries while you wait. Bring cash, because they dont take cards (there is an atm in the back).

Their selection is really impressive for such a small footprint, and prices are usually OK (neither good not bad). I really enjoy their grilled pork Vietnamese sandwich. They also have some pretty good hoagies.

A great affordable deli in the Cedar Park/Clark Park area of West Philly. Good sandwiches at a reasonable prices, and random international and American offerings int he small store area.

On the pricey side, but they have a great selection. Their Bahn Mi are awesome. I just found out their rolls arent vegan though, so the tofu bahn mi arent actually vegan like Id thought.
