Here is why I gave this ONE star. If you are going to say Tex-Mex make it Tex-Mex. Me being from TEXAS I was looking for something close to home. This is not Tex-Mex. The Fajitas well that was a stir fry. Fajitas do not have an Asian taste to them. I am not sure what they are marinating their meat in, but it was either sesame sauce or orange chicken sauce as it had a sweet panda express flavor too it. Also, In TEXAS when you order fajitas you get rice and bean well because that is how we do it. The meat was cut into stir-fry pieces not fajita Pieces. The margaritas I do not believe have any liquor in them as I had two and felt nothing. I am weak when it comes to tequila so one much less two would have done me in for the night. Oh wait i am not done. the Queso fundito .. WTF is that... you you think of queso with chorizo you except it to be good. I dont know what that was. It tasted like shredded cheese you melt to put on mac and cheese with chorizo links yes I said links cut up on top.............. UMHH NO>. it should be liquid cheese melt-able not mac and cheese type cheese with crumbled greasy sausage in it not cut up links. The queso I make at home with Velveeta, rotel and spicy hamburger meat was better than that and cheaper too...If the manager needs me to come show the cooks how to make Tex-Mex I will be more than happy. Not to mention The food was luke warm when I got it not sizzling hot like it should be. SO not worth the money. If you want good TEX-MEX take the trip and go to Uncle Julios in Plymouth Meeting Mall... Thats home... and 1 margarita is worth the drive...

Been here maybe 3 times now. Food is great but the wait staff is absolutely terrible. Slow and very rude service. Visited with someone under 21 last week, table service outside on account of, and was told I couldnt be served. The waitress went as far as to yell at us, infront of other customers, when we asked her to clarify why. Im 26 and know the PA lcb law regarding minors at tables with alcohol. Completely unacceptable and unprofessional to scold your customers, especially when you obviously dont know what youre talking about. Between that and the slow service I will never recommend this place to anyone.

A great variety of foods. Im not a mexican afficionado, but they seem pretty authentic to me. Either way, they taste great. The margaritas are to die for. Can be busy right after work on a Friday, but if you stop in later Friday or on a weekday, you can be sure to get a seat. The waitstaff aim to please, and are on top of things. The kitchen seems to get backed up every now and then, but the drinks and appetizers keep you entertained until the main course comes out. I am a regular there, and suggest others do the same.

Me encantan las alitas de este lugar, los jueves son a $35! Queda en un sector muy bonito de Philadelphia. No es el lugar más elegante, pero es divertido, siempre me han atendido muy bien y tienen buenas cervezas.

Cactus offers a wide selection of beers and drinks at the cost of all dining experience; the erratic, unfocused presentation, summer heat, loud radio and scrambling wait staff diminish the experience. The food was good but expensive for bar food. Lower quality than adjacent restaurants or other texmex fair. To be brutally honest, its closer to Applebees than anything else flavor/option wise.

Bayous other half. Like with most couples, I prefer Cactus. The focus is less squarely on the booze, meaning the food is much better. Things are still rather affordable, but better. The ambiance is consistent with most any place in Manayunk: a converted rowhome that is longer than it is wide. There isnt much seating or space at all, but a good place to grab a bite or a drink.

Ive been here many times and last night when i came back with my friend. The owner Tony (was unpleasant ) standing at the door asked for our IDs and scanned them. We are 2 women in our 30s. This is not a club so there is no need to check and scan our ID unless we order alcohol. I think he scan his customers ID because he afraid they dont pay. I will not return.

Awful service and mediocre food. The waiter came twice to ask us if we wanted anything to drink because he forgot to bring it the first time. Mind you the place was far from busy at the moment. I asked for a second round of chips but the waiter brought it once we were done with our entrees which were not that well to begin with. Will not be eating here again.

Passable and somewhat cheap brunch. My breakfast burrito was good, but nothing amazing. My fiancee went with the brunch buffet. The eggs had clearly been sitting out for hours and there wasnt much variety. She felt a little sick afterward. We want to go back and try their other menu items. I may change this rating in the future!

I love Cactus! The food is absolutely delicious, especially the quesadillas. They have a 2 dollar taco Tuesday which is also awesome too! The selection of beer is awesome, and they have a whole lot on tap, so youre always able to try something new. A great dinner choice for a night out in Manayunk!

Amazing! This place is awesome, the wings are some of the best I have ever had, the chips and slasa they serve while you wait are also amazing. The owner Tony is also really cool and does a great job with the resturant. I try to stop in at least once a week its soo good!

Cheap, quick, but not too fancy. Some solid specials. Average service. Taco Tuesday and Wing Wednesday are my favs. As others have noted, they are owned by the same people who own bayou. For those in Manayunk sports and social, you can cash your drink ticket here too!

Cactus is one of the best restaurants in Manayunk. Their southwestern menu is delicious and the salsa is to die for. Monday night $10 margarita pitchers are a great deal, and quite tasty as well! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone, its great! :)

Our waiter was horrible and the service overall was dismal. The amount of time between checking in on customers was absurd. The food was okay and a good selection of drinks, but I wouldnt bother since there are other, better places on Main street.

Service was terrible... Manager was more concerned about watching softball and reminiscing about the days he used to coach rather than making sure the kitchen got food out in a timely manner... 25 minutes for soup and 15 more for a burrito...

Cactus is a nice alternative if you want a sophisticated, yet affordable city-style dinner. A great bar with unlimited selections - friendly staff and southwestern food which is always yummy for a change of pace!

As a mexican, I can tell you that this is far from authentic. The salsa is terrible, the burritos will give you a stomach ache, and if you order a Tecate, make sure you ask them not to pour it in a warm glass :/

Service is basic and the food wasnt that great . Im a big Mexican food person and I would say this place is mediocre at best and very americanized Mexican food .
