My wife and I have been visiting Sultan for several years. Our normal routine is to visit on Sunday and do the buffet. It has undergone two changes of management since we first started going. I wouldnt say that the quality was ever really bad, but lately there has been a great improvement. The latest staff has really done a fine job at redecorating the facilities and expanding the menu. I have eaten there with people of Indian descent and they say that the cooking is authentic. I have come to enjoy the many vegetable dishes that they make. In fact, several times I have been completely satisfied without sampling any of the meat dishes. I think I could be a vegetarian if my food was always this satisfying. We find the staff to be very attentive and eager to please. They are quick to recommend new dishes that they are proud of and we have been happy to oblige. My wife prefers the less spicy food such as the korma or other yogurt based sauces, while I like the spicer type. There is always a good mixture of choices on the buffet. This last week I counted about 15 main dishes and of course the pani puri and appetizers. They usually have several deserts of which my favorite is gajar halwa which is a carrot pudding spiced and sweetened with honey. I have been to many Indian restaurants across the Northeast and I would say the quality of the food here is one of the best, even compared to more pricey restaurants in New York City. You wont be disappointed.

Like some of the other people in there, Ive experienced extremely poor service and a cocky attitude from the owners. I ordered some tea, onion and other fritters with chutney and the waiter had just placed it on my table when an old man, apparently the owner, came to me and said small orders are not served and I should have ordered a take out. I rejected the whole order saying they should have told me that earlier and any good restaurant serves all its customers no matter what and how much they order. I felt quite insulted and since then havent been to that place again. Dont intend to either. Food is often too spicy and oily and even the "mild" request comes as quite spicy. There are better Indian Restaurants around, dont stop by this one to ruin your evening.

After taking our order, the server sat on his phone for the rest of our meal. I was a little nervous as to why the restaurant was entirely deserted aside from my husband and myself, but when we received our "medium" heat food and it was spicy to the point of being inedible I understood. Normally I dont mind spicy food, but there was no warning at all of the degree to which the "medium" heat food would burn the mouth! We had to both stand up and call our waiter, we were so dissapointed at the lack of service or follow up about how our food was that we paid and walked out without saying anything. We still love Indian cuisine; however, we will be taking our patronage elsewhere from now on!

I once loved coming here but the prices have gone up and the service has gone down. After leaving our entrees our waitress disappeared completely for 15 minutes. My wife ordered mild lamb tiki masala which had no detectable difference to my medium lamb korma making it indedible. We looked around the dining room and craned our necks looking for our waitress but the place was like a ghost town until my entree was finished. Eventually she showed up and returned the dish to the kitchen producing something more edible to my wifes taste but had she been another 5 minutes we would have simply walked out. The food was reasonably good but a year ago it was much better. New management it seems.

I recently visited this restaurant for a buffet lunch during a weekend. The buffet food they provide is of worst quality and variety. Being an indian restaurant they did not even serve the biriyani as part of their menu and other varieties are too bad. The starters (tandoori chicken and samosa) they had were prepared a day before or two. This is on eof the worst indian restaurants I ever visited. Please dont waste your money/time visiting this place. Better try Amans or moghals restaurant at the Street road

Sultan is the best Indian food in the area. Their Chicken Tikka Masala is amazing, and their other dishes never disappoint. My wife and I have dinner there once or twice a month at least, sometimes every week. The service is always friendly. Bring your own wine. I honestly dont know where these bad reviews are coming from. Weve been customers since they owned Palace of Asia in Fort Washington, and have never had a bad meal and only had pleasant interactions with the staff.

We LOVE Indian food. We went to Sultan restaurant for lunch. NOT a kid friendly restaurant! Coke and tap water only available. No kids menu (less spicy for kids is better) As I said we love Indian food and have been to many Indian restaurants before but have never had any problems after. This time both my husband and I got bad headaches from all of the MSG?.... Service is by far the worst place I have ever eating at. Prices are way up Stay away...

My boyfriend and I come here every weekend for the buffet. The food is always hot and fresh, and our waiter brings us freshly-made buttered naan and alu paratha. Their samosas and chicken tikka masala are my favorite menu items. The service is always great and the staff are very friendly. We both recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves amazing food and quality service.

My husband and I have come before to this restaurant and just realized that it is under new management. The food was excellent as well as the service which is not that great at other Indian restaurants weve been to. We will definitely be back here again and might make it a weekly spot. They said they will soon be offering delivery too. We cant wait!

I love Indian cuisine so when I learned Sultan had a lunch buffet I was really excited about trying the food. I have to say I wasnt disappointed. The variety of food was great with many choices of meats and twice as many vegetarian choices. The staff was friendly and patiently explained the dishes. I loved the decore and enjoyed the experience.

We got take-out from here. I got Rogan Josh, and my husband Chicken Tikka Masala. Mine was delicious, but I still had major food envy. The chicken tikka masala was amazing - creamy and flavorful. The naan was good and tasted fresh, and they certainly didnt skimp on the rice. Well definitely go back!

Sammy is a wonderful and personable hostess/waitress. The food was excellent with the exception of a little too much fat on the goat ( goat curry.) Samosas, chicken tiki masala, lamb biriani, and special order aloo were excellent as well. Our special requests were honored quickly and exactly.

This is my first review and unfortunately it is not good. I ordered the chicken biriyani and it was not at all biriyani. the rice and chicken was half cooked and the taste was not even close to biriyani. also price is high. I think these guys should do something to make it better.
