We have become regulars at the new diner location in West Chester, but after yesterdays visit that is about to change. We visited with a friend who needs gluten free options. After asking, she was told that they do not use fresh eggs for their omelets or scrambled eggs but rather the liquid kind that is not gluten free. So she ordered vanilla yogurt and fruit. When we were served, she discovered that she had been given plain yogurt instead of vanilla. When she asked the server, she was told they were all out of vanilla. Our friend was not told that they had made a substitution. Our friend did not eat the plain yogurt. She was still charged for the unordered and uneaten yogurt. We found the server uninformed and uncaring. She did not apologize for the difficulties. We have decided that for quality of food and service and the cost, there are better options in West Chester. Why did I still give it 3 stars? Great atmosphere. Good eggs benedict. Helpful supervisor. We will try it again in a while.

Stopped in on a Saturday around 12:30 for lunch for 3 adults and 3 kids. ~15 minute wait for a table. There is not waiting area inside so we sent in a representative and stayed in the AC in the car. The restaurant is snug and it was quite busy. My first impressions were that the place was clean and tidy, the staff was professionally dressed and it was bustling. We were seated and served promptly - the menu had some great options. Most of us opted for Brunch items - a generous omelette, delicious eggs benedict and the kids got pancakes and eggs. One person got a very generous portion of hand made chicken tenders and hand cut wedge fries. The place is pricey - but well worth it. Real food prepared with care and passion. The pancakes were a little too pricey, and they serve a pretty generic syrup with them. If we are ever in the neighborhood again - we will definitely return. I immediately recommended it to friends who were still at the hotel.

I first went to this place years ago when my boyfriend and I were visiting my parents. We loved it so much that we came back the next day on our drive back home! I went again today with my family and was just as pleased. The menu has everything from the basics, to sides of lump crab and smoked salmon. Today we had the Nutella stuffed French toast, pear and cream stuffed French toast, ham & cheese omelet, scrambled eggs, and French fries. Everything was yummy!! Their scrambled eggs are perfect. And you need to make sure at least one person at the table gets the hand cut French fries. Is the place small? Yes, but thats a part of its charm. It is super cute inside-like youre in someones house. But the separate rooms provide some privacy. I love this place and will continue to annoy my parents about coming here whenever I visit!

Our party of 5 visited Sunday, 07/09/17 as we were on our way out of Avondale back to NY. We just googled a place to dine at that wasnt far from our hotel & was sooo happy we decided on this place. We instantly knew this place would be good because the parking lot was packed! Service, Food, and Setting was Awesome!!! It gave us a "Hamptons-y" Vibe Decor-wise & "Farm to Table" portions were DELICIOUS! We had Brakfast but wanted to change our orders as we saw other people getting served because everything looked so amazing! We were happy we stuck with what we ordered though. The price was sooo right & our waitress was so attentive! & packing our leftovers in the cute to-go trays with the really nice handled bags was a nice touch. Will make this place a must visit next time were in town & definitely recommend others to go!

Delicious! This place serves a wonderful, tasty breakfast. They use quality ingredients and have many exotic choices on their menu such as fresh avocados or asparagus with your eggs. They even go as far as to offer a large selection of seafood for breakfast (salmon, tuna, even lobster). They gorgeously present the food and are generous with their portions. Also, I feel the price is worth the treat. I spent $30 between two people and thoroughly enjoyed it. One minor flaw is that this place gets crowded... Parking can be difficult and seating can take a while. The chaos can also cause the wait staff to forget orders. I heard they were thinking of expanding, its a shame they havent yet. Overall, it is a great place for Breakfast!

The Classic Diner is AMAZING!!! Everything i have ever had there is SOOOOO good! I have NEVER had anything there that i didnt absolutely LOVE! Portions are expensive, but HUGE, i almost always take home a "doggy" bag, even at breakfast. Also i was reading the other reviews & "Larry" said the hostess stand was at the opposite end of the entrance, that is wholly untrue, The hostess stand is right in front of the entrance. On the other hand they have a To Go entrance (which is VERY clearly marked as TO GO, a LARGE green sign over the door) which is on the other side of the restaurant (conveniently steps away from picking up your To Go items & the register)

I wish they had a half STAR for ratings. I drive past this diner daily. Yesterday, 8/5/15 I had time to stop by and have breakfast. Well, NEVER AGAIN! What business person can charge one person $22.00 for breakfast? Egg White spinach & cheese omelet, side of bacon cup of coffee......everything a la carte! Egg white (3) $7.25, Spinach $2.75, Am. Cheese $2.00, coffee $2.75.....here is the best price.........."SLAB SIDE OF BACON $6.50 = 3 slices. This is a diner who ROBS their customers. NOT WORTH IT! Disappointed Customer......who will NOT recommend this dinner to ANYONE! Carol

Food is excellent but atmosphere is very pretentious. It is clear that the owners care more for revenue than for service. Hostess stand is at opposite end of restaurant from entrance. Hostess was not welcoming. Tables were crowded together so that navigating in and out called for traffic control. Waitress forgot most non-revenue requests -- coffee was free. Food was excellent but breakfast for one for $30.00 was Ritz Carlton pricing not crowded diner pricing. Take out muffin and bun cost $4.00 each. I have no desire to brave the elements to dine here again.

Love coming here! Their baked goods that Ive had have been delicious and fresh. The only thing on the menu that I absolutely avoid is their chicken. Every time Ive had the panko crusted chicken, its scarily rubbery and unnatural in texture...I think it may be where they source the chicken from, and I dont want to take any risks with it! Everything else on the menu is very delicious and made well (I especially love their French toasts and eggs Benedict)! Be aware that if you want all the fixings, youll probably rack up quite a bill--but its worth it!

HAIRY omelette at the Classic Diner in Malvern. I found a long (5 inch) black hair cooked inside my omelette. I decided to plunge forward and keep eating. Then I found another. And another. So basically I ate a half of an omelette and there were 3 long black hairs. So I assume there were six total. Maybe a couple finger nails. I cant be sure. Yes, they took it off the bill, but no apology or even surprise from the server. Thats revolting. I went on Jan. 16 (2015) for lunch.
