Dont waste your money! Sugar Plums and Tea is a 1000 times better. We walked in on a Tuesday at 11:30. They asked if we had a reservation. I said, "No, do we need one?" She said, "No, but we need to know what you are ordering." The restaurant was empty. All tables were open. I was there with my daughter and one year old granddaughter. So, we had to look at the menu and choose while we stood in the lobby. They do not have booster seats. Please, they should have just been honest and said they didnt want us there with a child. Any way, we were seated. I held my granddaughter on my lap. She was very well behaved the whole time. The menu I saw while I stood in the lobby said the first course was soup or salad. They did not ask what we wanted, just brought us out cups of couscous with mint and tomatoes in it that neither my daughter or I could eat. It was terrible. Eventually a table of 4 walked in. The only table to come in the whole time we were there. That table was given soup. They ordered the exact same meal we both did. Their creme brulee had a cookie in it. Ours didnt. We were served more sweets (cheap sweets) than savories. The food was not good quality and my daughter and I both felt it was a big waste of money. I have never submitted a restaurant review but I just couldnt overlook the rude service and poor quality food.

Very expensive!! They have gobs and gobs of loose tea and they give you bagged rubbish. The "scones" are tiny, triangle shaped muffins that are disgusting at best. The portions are too small, even for a child. The photos on the website are NOTHING like what you actually get. DO NOT be deceived. The Tea Affair website made it look so lovely and its was just a severe disappointment. Im upset that I paid top dollar for tiny bites of cheap, terrible, unpalatable food. They give you no clotted creams or anything that resembles a real, traditional English tea service ( I can only guess thats what they are trying to achieve). On top of all that, the place is so small you can barely fit wherever they cram you and you are constantly bumping into other people. There is a HUGE fake, dusty orchid on the table that gets in your face while you are trying to salvage some joy from this less than passable tea service. Its all very sad. I really was looking forward to somewhere that had a real English tea service, but I was very let down to say the least. Stay away from this place. Try the BULLS HEAD PUB which adjoins the GENERAL SUTTER INN just a block or two away. That is a REAL English style pub with wonderful, authentic English fare at reasonable prices. You will not be disappointed there. Stay away from Tea Affair and hop over to Bulls Head Pub, instead.

I am delighted with A Tea Affair. Before going, I visited their website, looked at the different levels of tea service they offer, and then called and made a reservation. They asked if any in my party had any food allergies, so as to be able to prepare. Very easy. The atmosphere and pace is very peaceful, as it should be, which is very conducive to conversation. If you are seeking a quick meal, do not come here; Tea is served as a relaxing experience to enjoy the company of those you are with, rather than simply showing up, devouring a meal and leaving. The décor is beautiful, as well as the china and table settings. All that is required of you upon sitting at your table, is selecting which tea you would like to drink, and then enjoy being served as you leisurely eat and relax. The food is chefs choice, so as to keep the food selection fresh, which is also an added bonus if you enjoy simple surprises and letting go of control to have new experiences! The food is spectacular, I remember being served a homemade Chicken tomato Orzo soup that was hands down the best soup I have ever had. I always look forward to treating myself to a Tea with my friends at A Tea Affair!

This little gem of a tearoom is a new favorite of mine....and I dont even live in PA. Upon visiting my daughter, we ventured out of our rut of eateries and discovered this lovely tearoom, beaming with such a variety of tea, scone mixes, teapots, diffusers and other must have items. We were greeted by the owner and seated in a charming room filled with gorgeous furnishings. It was brightly decorated in such cheerful colors; the tables were set with sweet teacups and saucers of various colors and patterns. And upon each table sat tall orchid plants.....it set a pleasant atmosphere in which to enjoy wonderful tastings of scones, curds, savories and decadent desserts. The creme brûlée was a pleasant surprise. The owner was such a delightful lady; we enjoyed learning about tea, her travels and her love for her business. We are getting ready to make our third trip to the Tea Affair....in two weeks time! I will certainly return to The Tea Affair every time I visit this area!!

September 22, 2015 Today, three of us enjoyed a delicious high tea treat at A Tea Affair. After selecting our tea, we did not need to select anything else. We were served a warm raspberry and blueberry moist scone with lemon curd. After that, a generous slice of quiche was served accompanied by a salad with their house dressing, a delicious poppy seed dressing. Our three tier serving dish arrived filled with chicken salad, ham salad, BLT, and cucumber sandwiches on the bottom tray. We enjoyed these as the had on piece of bread and the fillings we mounded on top. The second plate held a generous slice of chocolate cake filled with chocolate mouse and a mini cup of creme burlee. The top tier held a tart with a luscious filling and topped with a dollop of lemon curd, a coconut macaroon, and an airy cookie. The tearoom was beautifully decorated, the food was fantastic and our server and the owner, Alice, could not have been warmer to us. Highly Recommended. Enjoy...

I love going to tea rooms and this one located in the heart of Lititz, my hometown, is no exception. However someone in my party is a vegetarian and unlike other tea rooms who have accommodated her with no problem a tea affair charged her an extra five dollars and still served her salmon! Which she found out about after taking a bite. They had also served her soup with chicken stock in the receipe. If they are going to charge for the inconvenience I would hope they knew what vegetarian meant. Very disappointed in their lack of knowledge on the subject. It is a very nice atmosphere and otherwise very good food so long as you arent on a restricted diet. Also, high tea is a bit over priced when compared to other tea rooms in Pennsylvania.

Despite the previous review, I found A Tea Affair to be charming, friendly, and the food outstanding! I visited the tea room this past week with my mother-in-law for a high tea. The presentation of the high tea was beautiful with fresh tea sandwiches and delicious sweets. The server was very personable and knowledgeable when describing the different types of teas and food. We loved the food so much, that we purchased a selection of desserts to take home with us. To our suprise their french chef Sylvie delievered our box of goodies, with news of an added new dessert coming soon to the tea room for us to be the first to try. We enjoyed ourselves so much we are recommending A Tea Affair to all our family and friends!
