Although I have had issues with Blue Koi recently being understaffed for the amount of patrons they have (this should tell you how good their food is) and so they havent been able to accurately help me when I call to place orders for take out (which does annoy me and so I expect long wait times), their food IS excellent, and they ARE NOT out of compliance as of their last inspection. I am not sure why that recent reviewer was saying they are but I hate that someone would say something about a small business that is so inaccurate and wanted to correct it with some facts.. The one time Blue Koi was out of compliance in 2014, they corrected all issues pointed out to them and then upon revisit by the state on July 8th, 2014 were in compliance (which was their last state inspection, you can check it out yourself at https://www.pafoodsafety.state.pa.us/web/inspection/publincinspectionsearch.aspx).

I have been to Blue Koi twice, both times I ordered to go, the first time I thought the food had absolutely no taste to it at all. Bland! The presentation of the food was lovely but it had no taste. The second time I went there also to go. I ordered a salmon skin roll, and 4 other rolls, but asked for a special sauce being that the food was tasteless, I figured Ill use the sauce for the rolls. When I arrived at my home and opened my bag, I find that they charged me for a salmon skin roll, but did not give me one. I for one will not bother to try this place a third time, because yet again the food was bland no taste at all, how sad that such a lovely place does not have the sense to taste the food. Some people love it, but people with actual taste buds may agree with me. :)

We happened to stop in for lunch and we left very happy. It seems that someone knows how to cook. I ordered the Thai Basil Stirfry w/ tofu. It was perfectly cooked, not limp. The chef knows how to get a good quick sear and then finish it off. The sauce was wonderful. My hubby got the green Curry w/ tofu and was equally impressed. The sauce was just the right balance of everything and not to thick or thin. The Summer Rolls were good and the Veggie Gyoza were to die for. We ordered an extra plate of them. Everything was topped of with Mango Sticky Rice for dessert. In heaven!!

In the mood for sushi, curry, summer rolls, then youve found the right place to stop! Blue Koi is a diamond in the rough for the greater Hanover restaurant scene. The quality and presentation of every item served here simply cannot be beat. The sushi is amazing, they have a talented chef in the kitchen, who can make even the simplest of dishes elegant and delectable. Even better is the price of the dishes, you would pay triple this anywhere else and wouldnt have nearly as much to dine on. If youre in Hanover, this is the place to stop and experience.

Food and restaurant presentation was a 10, but that is where the positive stops. I must say I did not have any sushi but I did have the crab wonton and satay chicken. The wife had tempura shrimp. The food was bland, bland bland. Nothing had any taste to is what so ever but this was not even the worst part of out meal. We went to a "Japanese" restaurant run buy non-Japanese staff *I can handle that*, but the whole time there we had to listen to Mexican mariachi music. It trashed the whole atmosphere and everything felt encumbered and inconsistent.

everything was good but after we ate here, it was in the newspaper for SOOO many food violations. Including flies in the sushi cooler, walk-in refrigerator, sanitary napkins ( tampons) out in the open back in the kitchen, black film in the ice dispenser, temps for the hot/cold were not kept up with where the raw fish was for SUSHI! I myself will NOT ever take the risk to eat sushi here again. Sushi is something you can get violently ill from.

I find it interesting that Turner Likes Full Moon Better and says that the Blue Koi copied their menu. I personally love Full Moon and Blue Koi and guess what. The same person owns both. That might be why their menus are so similar. The food, Service, and the atmosphere are wonderful. You cant get better value for the money and get the quality they serve.

We went on a Friday night. I was apprehensive, because I knew this place was popular and was not that big. We arrived around 7 and it was full but they seated us right away. Very nice selection a Asian faire and the service was excellent. I had the Curry Duck and it was fantastic. This is a great little place hidden in a strip mall.

We have been here a few times over the last year. We went about 4+ months between visits, but they still remembered us and our server remembered what my husband ordered. Not only is the service here amazing, the food is fantastic! This has become one of our favorite places.

Very good food and a nice looking room. I had a tuna roll and a salmon roll, both with avocado. I dont have much experience with sushi but this probably tied for my favorite. I will certainly come back here when Im in Hanover.

Hands down our favorite local spot. Food is top notch. Staff is always friendly and attentive. We almost avoid getting sushi elsewhere, because Blue Koi has sent the bar high for us!

Simply LOVE IT! Love the food, the ambiance, and the service. Their sushi was excellent. one of the best Ive ever eaten. If you are a sushi lover, then this place is your pit stop.
