My bf and I went to dinner here yesterday for our date night of the month. We heard good things about the place and made a reservation for two. When we were being seated, we were surrounded by very loud conversations; it was almost a full house with a large party of gals. There werent anything in this restaurant that seem to dampen the sound. I couldnt hear my boyfriend across the very small table, I was screaming and leaning over the whole time. Fair selection of wine and small but good selection of craft beers, in bottles and draft. Appetizer: Braised rib and mac and cheese. I enjoyed the mac and cheese, because it was not super greasy or cheesy, so if you like the very cheesy kind, this is not it. This is the worst braised rib Ive had compared to Totaros or Spring Mill Cafe. It was dry and the sauce could be more flavorful. Usually, if you spend enough time braising the rib in low temperature long enough, most people can get the desired falling-off-the-bone and melt-in-your-mouth texture. It was soft but not soft enough. I also preferred a bit more fat on the meat. I had the Wild Boar with wild mushroom risotto. The meat was overdone, the outside was charred. I had forgotten what came with the meat, and the mush that came with it was so horrible, I didnt know what to make of it. It didnt have any flavor and I asked my bf to taste it to figure out what this mush was. We didnt eat the mush. My bf had the Yellowfin Tuna. The fish was not of good quality. We made sure it was seared, so very raw. The texture was tough on the fish. The dish came with a daikon salad, which should NEVER be paired with something this delicate, especially the size of the daikon was very large and not marinated or pickled, so the daikon was too strong and bitter for the entire dish. I just didnt understand this dish combination. The only thing that tasted good was the wasabi mash potato. We had a good waitress, but she only removed my bfs used utensils and not mine. I found it a bit weird. Overall, I expected much better quality in the food. I left the restaurant feeling that I got ripped off. I do not wish to return, but I might return one more time to make sure its not just a bad day for them.

Decided to try this place during restaurant week, making the mistake of thinking that we would get a great meal for a great deal. When we first arrived we were asked to sit at a table directly in front of the entrance despite the fact that there were multiple other 2 person table available. After walking the restaurant with the hostess we were finally seated at a different table and, sarcastically told, that us moving seats might have mess up the reservations for the rest of the night. Our waitress was friendly and courteous, but that is where the positives end. The first course, two different salads, were reasonably dressed but poorly seasoned. Both need some salt. The entrees were not terrible, but when I am paying $25 for an entree I expect to be blown away or be too full to move. My husbands entree of scallops with mushroom risotto was underwhelming. At almost $10 a piece the three scallops on the plate were served beyond overcooked. My dish of sweet potato gnocchi were less like pillowy soft morsels I was looking forward to eating and more like pebbles lost in a buttery, overly sweet sauce served with 3 pieces of pancetta and 2 bites of spinach. Dessert took the longest to arrive at our table and was a waste of time and money. One tasted like freezer while the other was not worth the time at the gym it would take to burn off the calories. In summary this meal was underwhelming, not worth my time or money, and I could have had a better meal if I stayed at home and ate Ramen. Save your money and your time. THe chef needs to lose the sugar, and find the salt.

These people served burnt food with my son and his grandmother. I had to waste my time driving back. Maybe because my grandmother didnt speak English very well they thought they could do this. I would never eat from or at this place this again. To even send food out the way it look SHOULD BE ASHAMED. I WONDER WHAT ITS LIKE IN THE BACK. Thats a joke anyways because before coming to do checks they let stores know anyways. My opinion checks should be as a surprise. No names but started with B. said acted liked didnt understand calmed yelled I talk loud he understood. Used car sales trick A used car as thou its new. In front of all loud made it seem as thou I didnt like food {IT WAS BURNT).

I heard good things about this restaurant, so I stopped in for lunch on weekday. The server approached me immediately, and said he would be right back. I think he forgot, and went to 2 other tables. When he was going by, I told Zack Im ready to order. He said O.K., and walked away quickly. ???? I think he had to go put in 2 other orders before he forgot them. Not really sure why servers dont write down the orders anymore. I always did when I was a server, so if someone stopped me on the way to the kitchen, I could take care of them. Maybe just a bad day? Ill go there for drinks, but not sure if I will try again for a meal.

Ive been to the Stone Rose several times for drinks, but only ate there once. In my opinion (and this opinion was echoed by others in my group), we didnt quite understand what all the fuss was about. My main dish isnt even on the menu anymore, so maybe Im not the only one who found it lacking, but my buddys main dish (short ribs over mac and cheese) IS still on the menu, and I tried it. It was decent, but not up to the hype that this place generates (or the prices it commands). For the same money, there are better meals to be had in the area.

Sat at an outside table and the street/curb immediately next to table was gross. There was trash, cig butts, and a dirty, old ass sock(yea a sock) literally a foot from the table. One of the staff members said it has been there for a week...Um get a broom and sweep it up you lazy POS! Plus the app size short rib/Mac n cheese was not that good. Ive had it before it was good but this time was almost as bad as that sock. Service and staff were friendly though.

Despite the rave reviews of the stone rose cafe it did not live up to them. It is completely overwhelmed on a Saturday night and the food was overly salted and fat laden so much so that we could not get through the first few bites our meals. We drove out of the city to try this place and could not get back fast enough! When you dont have many options this may seem to be a good option, but dont be fooled.

We first started with the cheese plate which had 3 delicious cheeses and a selection of fruits, nuts, bread and honey. We then had the duck breast and scallops entrees.. both of which were delicious!!! The scallops were cooked perfectly. For dessert we had the cookie ice cream sandwich which is giant! Definitely for sharing! I would recommend this place for a fancy, delicious night out!
