My girlfriend and I were in Seaside, and we dont usually do the "touristy" thing but she wanted saltwater taffy and since we were there, we thought ourselves lucky to stumble across this place. The sign says "140 flavors of salt water taffy". We were hooked right in, cool thing they also sell $1 cones of ice cream, we were in it for the experience. We went around the store and picked out about 2 lbs of taffy flavors, and a variety pack of fudge. After making our $20 purchase my visibly 7 month pregnant girlfriend asked to use the restroom, the young girl behind the counter pointed out the key and told gave her directions, it was upstairs and at the end of the hallway or something like that. So my girlfriend asked a second time just to be sure how to get there and reached for the key. Thats when it happened.... Michelle, the manager on duty came from behind the counter and SNATCHED THE KEY AWAY, saying something about "the bathrooms close at quarter til". Now at this point you might suggest I was upset as was gf, Michelle begins to defend her actions by saying "there is a public restroom across the street" and "if we dont close the bathroom someone will get stuck in there". So I should preface this with I would usually not write a bad online review, especially during the busy season of a business, I would normally call and speak to a manager and just let them know that this is an issue that needs to be resolved as it may cost them customers (our whole experience felt ruined by this woman being unnecessarily rude). While we were there she also yelled at the young man working there openly in front of customers, he was playing with his phone but- seriously- dont yell at him in front of customers (its a freakin candy store after all, it should be a happy place). So I called this morning, and guess who answered the phone.... well she wasnt any nicer to me today either. I cant even chalk it up to a bad evening, When I asked for the owners name and number she yelled at me that she "is the general manager" and "I was following policy" before hanging up on me, so I called back again she hung up on me WITHOUT listening to my concerns. So here we are a bad review, not of the place, just the manager. Bad Manager. The taffy is really good and the price is great! The fudge is reasonably priced, but only "pretty" good tasting. We didnt get to try the ice cream because we left in disgust.

He is the most awsome person ever and his staff are amazing we have been going here ever since we moved to Oregon 13 years we go at least 4x a year we have a family picture on the wall and he has taffy icecream fudge and more he even let our daughter show him her popping dance in his corridor that she was practicing for her talent show and most of his staff came out to watch as well and then they all were so encouraging to my 13 yr old and one time the whole town lost power for many hours and he was selling his icecream for .25 cents a scoop so it wouldnt go to waste he is the nicest man we have met in all of seaside

Where to start? There about as many taffy flavors as you could think of (I would say at least 75) from sweet to fruity to mint-based flavors, as well as other various candy treats and ice cream. The older gentleman that owns the shop is always such a kind man, and it always seems he instilled this attitude upon those who work there. Always look forward to picking up a number of handfuls of different flavors.

Good taffy, but not the cleanest place to buy from. Everything looks like it was done about 20 years, and could use a facelift. All the signs look like they were printed using Word, and its just all a bit too tacky for my taste. Overall, the kids will like it, but you wonder if half of what they say is "homemade", is not just really ordered form the cheapest place they could get it. ;)

I absolutely HATE taffy but the taffy here is absolutely amazing. It always amazes me when we walk in and see the rows and rows of assorted taffy. But I also like the other sweets there, like chocolate and rock candy. This place has been my favorite candy shop for as long as I can remember and it still pleases to this day.

OMG! I died and went to Salt Water Taffy heaven! This place is awesome. We happened to meet the owner and he is just the most personable guy I think I have ever met. Love the variety of sweets. The store is incredibly clean. The staff is very friendly. When in the area you MUST take a trip to the Seaside Candyman!

The fudge is great and priced far lower than the fudge at the fudge shop around the corner. The ice cream selection is far more extensive than any of the other places we stopped for ice cream in town (and priced lower) and best yet, they actually take debit/credit cards. Well be back every time were in town.

I look forward to the taffy here when in Seaside,, but the quality has definitely declined. The flavors were all very bland and hardly present, while some flavors were completely wrong (for example, orange creamsicle tasted like licorice). It saddens me to say that this store is not as good as it used to be.

Huge selection of salt water taffy!! You can even get a free sample upon entering. Inside the same building is an ice cream store. You can get a $0.75 small ice cream cone of Tillamook ice cream! Mention that it is your birthday and youll get it for free! Service was good and friendly!

The largest selection of taffy I have ever seen. They have 150+ flavors. The candyman can usually be found on the street handing out pieces of taffy. Ice cream, chocolate, novelty candies and tons of jelly belly candy can be found here.

5 stars only if you are a candy freak with appreciation for variety. Nice people, fun selection of flavors, and wild array of colors to entice the sugar addicts. Reasonable prices, but definitely worth visiting when traveling.

The people that work there are fun and down to earth. Salt water taffy everywhere! The peanut butter fudge was my favorite. Its just a great place that really shows how "real"and fun Seaside and Oregon are.

Omg! Taffy and icecream dream shop! Drove miles to grab some goodies and will gladly do it again. Plenty of employees around to answer questions and help decide what delicious treats to take home!

Amazing ice cream and the girl who helped us was so friendly!!!!! Dont waste your money on ice cream stores on Broadway, walk further down and get your ice cream here, cheaper for same Tillamook

The taffy is great, but the jelly beans are way over priced. And all there candy except taffy has these small little ball candysin them as fillers so you end yup paying even more.

Great taffy, jelly beans and cotton candy. The place was bustling with tourists, but didnt seem crowded. The place was an enjoyable stop, and the treats were delicious.
