Nice feel to this historic place; good beer and pizza. (4/5 green stars also) A friend and I ended up here in the afternoon, during the lull between lunch and dinner. But the quietness added to the haunted house / ghost-town-saloon feel to the place! Staff members were friendly and service was good. We shared a Dragon Lady pizza: sundried tomato, mushroom, white onion, artichoke heart, and capers. I really liked the pizza dough and even though the toppings wouldn’t be my first choice I ended up digging it. For beer I believe we tried the Shanghai’d IPA and the Sun Dazed Kölsch… Well, whatever we tried, the beers were also very good. This place doesn’t have the highest rating, but I recommend giving it a try. I’m also giving Old Town Pizza 4/5 “green stars” for social and environmental impact, based on these reasons: • They brew their own beer, avoiding the environmental costs of packaging and transportation. • They use local ingredients for beer and food (pizza flour, etc.). • They could do with more transparency on the ingredient sourcing, besides saying “locally-sourced.” • Five of their eight specialty pizzas are vegetarian. (Gluten-free also available.) • They don’t mention using any organic ingredients (organic flour, cheese, or toppings would be nice). • They have a “Modern Milkman” program where they deliver beer to you by bicycle. • They run occasional fundraisers: in January there was one for the Doernbecher Childrens Hospital. Ever written a green star review? Please contact me if you have, or if you’d like to know more!

My family and I have been coming here for decades. My parents started going to Old Town Pizza in the 70s and always had cool stories for my brother and I. I have personally been coming here with my family for as long as I can remember (I am 25). Its one of our favorite places for the atomosphere, of course, and for the food. We love the pizzas. They have great thick crust and very garlicky sauce. One of our main reasons for coming to Old Town, though, was definitely for the ANTIPASTA. Delicious crunchy and soft homemade focaccia bread with a plate of olive oil, delicious meats, cheeses, olives, roasted red peppers -- basically deliciousness. They just recently, after literally decades of coming here, stopped making the antipasta. Its almost like we have been betrayed. Thank you for being such loyal customers we will NOW TAKE AWAY YOUR FAVORITE ITEM. I dont know...we will probably still go to Old Town, but its definitely not as exciting as it used to be. If I ever wished that management would read a review this is the one. I want to remain a loyal customer, but youre making it difficult!

Most of the night clubs are located in this area that primarily cater to the college and LGBTQ groups. On weekends the Portland police close down the area to auto traffic and parking from 10pm to 3am, to avoid collisions with autos and the happily inebriated celebrating just about anything. Daytime activities that are very popular are the Shanghai Underground tours that embark from Hobos Restaurant. The most popular and longest running club is Darcelles XIV, who has had the club in the same spot for 50 years now, and is a local celebraty and at 86 yrs young, still performs. Very popular with visitors, birthdays, bridal parties etc. Reservations for Saturdays shows are highly recommend. NOTE: Old Town is primarily a 21+ yrs old entertainment area, especially at night. Be prepared to show validated state ID , and carry cash, as many clubs charge cover fees and parking, in addition to your entertainment, beverages, and rips

Scale of 1 -5 (1 being worst rating - 5 being the best rating) Atmosphere: 5 (Very mature crowd, well diverse mix between younger and older. "Hipsterish".) Cleanliness: 5 (Well kept and orderly. Staff is on top of it.) Menu: 5 (Very delicious, if you do not want pizza they have pastas and sandwiches. Every meal comes with a delicious side.) Service: 5 (I want to mention a young man who bartends there, his name escapes me (has beard is Seahawks fan. This guy went above and beyond to make my experience pleasurable. He is also very knowledgable about the menu.) Sustain: N/A Unique: The bartender mentioned earlier recommend the blue cheese with my salad as theirs is the best. And boy was he right, it was so delicious I could drink it right from the container. Oh and did I mention its haunted ;) Fail: N/A

I am absolutely afraid of this place, but I cannot help but keep going back. There is a ghost who haunts the place, I am most scared of her in the creepy bathroom which resides under the stairs. One bummer, we were there on a night with a large group, and we had made reservations for it. We had two tables split up which was difficult for our celebration. A large group who didnt have reservations and the wait staff made a large table for them. We decided we preferred our table that way, so we moved our own. They graciously told us the tables were antiques and didnt need to move them back. Just frustrating that despite our call ahead, we didnt get the great table set up.

The server was nice, but the bartender was a jackass. He told us to let him know what we wanted when we were ready, as he was putting glasses away on the other side of the bar. He didnt want to take the time to come up to us to take our drink orders. As a result, when I tried to order he yelled "WHAT?" My girl ordered a beer and again he yelled "WHAT?" He came off rude and impatient, even though the place was dead. Also, The place is dirty and dusty The pizza isnt anything special The beer sucks. I love breweries BTW. When we left, I noticed that the bartender was not there anymore. Maybe we caught him at the end of his shift, but we are never coming back.

Bartender told us our Canadian BC identification "wasnt valid in Portland", and we needed our passports to drink there. Even though we had been drinking at various bars all day in Portland.... I asked for the reason why, and even the bartender couldnt tell me. So we left and continued to ask other bartenders and managers in the area at other pubs If this was true at all, and they basically said "no thats silly". We were willing to spend money and hangout. But felt seriously discriminated against for no good reason (or a made up one). Anywho! Walked down a few blocks down to rogue brewery and had some fantastic beer and food!

We had the pizza (Ghost Pie).. For the price they are charging, you would think that the pizza would be of superior quality. But sadly, it was nothing special. On top of that, we had to wait around an hour for the food to arrive. The server seemed annoyed that we would even ask if the food was going to take longer. Location is a bit interesting. Might be a good place to hold a theme party. Otherwise, its old and dirty. Maybe that is the vibe that they are targeting? Overall, although I cannot comment on the beer selection, but if you are in the mood for a quick and good pie, this is definitely not the place. Look elsewhere.

Didnt know I was walking into a so called haunted pizzeria. anyways Im a huge pizza fan so I wanted to try something new. My wife and I went last night for dinner date and ordered some garlic bread sticks and a large pizza. I have to say the bread sticks were fantastic!!! but the pizza is one of the worsts ones ive ever had. The crust isnt that tasty, toppings are on top of cheese, and they dont put the cheese close enough to the crust to keep it form falling off. Very poor design of the pizza. Over all lots of potential, great bead sticks, but i probable wont be returning.
