This is definitely the most authentic Chinese restaurant in the tri-state area. The food is fabulous and the owner, Sherry, makes each visit special for every customer. In fact, after a few visits, she will most likely remember your name and what you ordered the time you ate there previously. I have heard customers comment on the average price of a meal ($10-$12 for dinner) being more expensive than some of the other Chinese restaurants in the area, but I personally feel the food is worth every penny. The portions are generous and all of the meats they use are easily identifiable. The chef takes pride in the food he prepares and Ive never ordered anything that I havent liked!! One note- if you plan to visit with a large party, you should call ahead to ensure seating is available or arrive early, as although the ambiance of the restaurant is great, their dining area is not very large.

OMG!! Horrible! The lady was tude on yhe phone, but i just thought she may have been busy. Whrn i picked up my order i asked for alot of soy sauce. I bought crab ragoon, general tsos chicken, fried rice and two egg rolls. She gave me three. I tikd her that i needed alot she said i put some in the bag i opened the bag and found two! I said i need about 4 more and she proceeded to pull the sauce out of the bag and count them and to tell me that it woukd cost money money!! I was so upset and when i got back to work, i found that she didnt give me a fork or napkins!!! For $17.00 this was horrendous and the crab ragoon cosisted of 5 pieces that were as big as a nickle with no onion or crab and it tastes like she mixed the cream cheese with oil. It definately wasnt all cream cheese!!!

This is the First time my son and I ate here. And it will be the LAST TIME!! We paid $18.50 for the Smallest Portion of Chinese food I have EVER seen. EVER! ! Usually we can eat for 2days for the amount of food we received elsewhere. If I would have been with him when he picked it up I would have told them to keep it!! We dont it out much because of cost and this was a Special treat but VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!! I called and the women that answered was RUDE too. I will make sure to NEVER come back. I will make sure my friends and family know NOT to do business with you also . Thank you UnSATISFIED CUSTOMER

EXCELLENT.....homemade and the best around! I have been eating at Chinese Lantern for 12+ years. The food is excellent, large quantities and made from scratch with quality meats & veggies. The restaurant is family owned and operated...the wait staff is very friendly and personable (often times local college students). I agree, some of the dinners take more than 5 minutes to prepare/cook....if you want fast food, go to Micky Ds or one of those strip mall Chinese fast food joints.

Weve gone to the Chinese Lantern for years. Sherri is awesome, and it may take just a little while to get your food, but that is because everything is fresh and cooked to order. For a light dinner try the Imperial Egg Rolls and Wonton Soup, they are the absolute best! These egg rolls come 2 to an order along with a dipping sauce that is wonderful. The wonton soup is more like a vegetable soup with wontons in it, very good, very filling!

Restaurant was quiet and cozy the decor was immaculate and very soothing our waitress was probably one of the best that we encountered she was very helpful and patient we ordered appetizers and a big meal and the drinks were superb we had the shrimp and asparagus and chicken and broccoli and an appetizer and Debbie had the pineapple and rum drink what she said was perfect Ill definitely go back great experience and as a reasonable price

Terrible service and pretty rude staff. The food is fine but nothing overly amazing. There is always a long wait for the food (even when there is no business, either in house or with carry out) and the price is pretty hefty for what you get. I would recommend going up the road to China Inn. They are a very good family restaurant and Ive never had any issues with them. Chinese Lantern is not worth the effort.

Ive been a loyal customer for the last 10 years. Sherry can tell you my usual of Citrus Chicken and extra Sweet and Sour sauce for the eggrolls. The best tasting Chinese food in the state of Ohio. I travel a lot and will always choose Chinese Lantern as my favorite of all. My 6 year old daughter loves to joke with Sherry and get extra fortune cookies. For a fun family dining experience you cant be it.

Extremely Rude!!!!!!!! My wife and I went there to order takeout and my wife went to use the restroom and the lady there began to grill her on whether she was a customer or not. I decided that after being a longtime customer there this was the final straw. No more will we support a business that doesnt support its customers

Without a doubt, this resturaunt features the best chinese food in hamilton, along with a quiet, relaxing atmosphere, and friendly service. Prices are high, but the quality and taste is unbeatable. Serving portions are large, so one order is generally enough for two people, or for leftovers later in the night!

Best Chinese food anywhere. More than a dizen great lunch specials each include soup choice, fried rice, fried wanton or eggroll. The dinners are scrumptious. Owners and staff super friendly and personable. She remembers me, what I usually order, asks about my friends and family who have dined there before.

Overpriced and over cooked. The portions are very small for the price. The beef stick I got smelled sour and looked green. Everything that was deep fried was overcooked and very dry. It went straight into the trash. Go somewhere else, there are a lot better Chinese restaurants in the area.

My husband and I tried this when we first moved to town and it is not very good. Our food had a funny taste and the veggies were over cooked. We still havent found any good chinese food in Hamilton, but there is a good one at Bridgewater Falls called Timmys Wok. Timmys is worth the drive.

We love this place and Sherry! We eat here at least once a week and if we miss a week Sherry wants to know where weve been. The restaurant is so CLEAN and the food is GREAT! Joking around with Sherry makes our days. Best place to get great food in a clean environment.
