We recently saw the coffee haus advertisement in a local paper and were intrigued by the artistic, tasty photo of pancakes. Sadly, nothing about the dining experience lived up to that "brand image" portrayed in the ad. First, the positives: 1) friendly staff, 2) cheap, basic food. Now the negatives: 1) first thing that hits you (and stays in your clothes) when you walk in is the dense smoky smell of grease; 2) the exhaust hood obviously isnt working properly or is woefully undersized for proper ventilation; 3) furthermore, the horizontal fire suppression pipe that hangs just inside the hood literally slowly dripped grease onto the griddle surface as we watched!!; 4) one of the staffers was complaining to a customer about not being paid enough/no benefits. We are all for supporting our local businesses/restaurants but there are better options than this. We will never go back - stick with First Watch.

Pros: The food is cheap and tastey. The diner has a homey feel and the waiting staff is very courteous. I will definitely go again! Cons: For those looking for a high class dining experience this is not for you. The decor is plain and although the place is relatively clean, it does not have a spotless, chrome plated kitchen of five star restaurant. final thoughts: if youd like a down home diner experience, try it out! If you want something extravagant, its probably not for you.

One of my favorite places to eat in Columbus for breakfast and lunch, only wish they were open late night! Their club sandwich is my favorite around, and they source the bacon locally (which is incredible). Burgers are great, and their daily lunch specials are always tasty and interesting. Friendly service, great prices, and good selection. Breakfast has the basics youd expect from a diner, but I love the western omelette.

Is this place small? Yes. Will you have to wait? Maybe. But you get out standing and friendly service by the bucket full. Gvcs is a Small mom and pop kind of place. A throw back to a slower pace. You come you talk you get your food. There arnt to many places that are running on all cylinders like this place. Come in on a Saturday morning or afternoon and you will have to wait. But believe me its worth it.

I love restaurants that have great prices and lots of character. I really like the condiment center which is located at each table. It really saves a lot of time waiting for the server to bring you something. Pancakes (blueberry) are excellent. Eggs and toast were nothing special. Coffee was bitter so I would not order that again. Staff was friendly and happy and there was a community atmosphere there.

Im sitting at the counter, only available seat with the cooks ass in my face watching him do ONE order at a time. A dozen folks waiting and he got two grills making one egg, pancake, hash browns at a time... Ive done this. I can do a half dozen orders at a time with two grills and a deep fryer. Hes doing it again, one egg order. Id fire this guy and do it myself, finally got my order... Damn.

Ive been here a few times. Ive always enjoyed it, unfortunately my last visit my wife and I got really sick within a few hours of eating here. No one else in our house got sick so it was likely food poisoning, doubt Ill go back. 3 stars because I really enjoy the place, but if Im getting food poisoning the sanitation of the restaurant comes into question.

This little hole-in-the-wall location was phenomenal. We were there on Sunday morning at 9 and people were waiting out the door. So if youre hungry and you cannot wait you might want to have a Plan B. The food was outstanding and you get a lot of it for a very low price.

went for a walk in the park and stopped in for coffee, after all the sign says "coffee shop". mind you, THEY HAVE NO COFFEE. just cheep "standard coffee" that tasts like watered down crud. no mocha, etc. false advertising. and they charged too much for it as it was.

Its okay. I liked the atmosphere and the service but the food was "meh". I tried the pineapple upside down pancakes (sounds delicious, right?), hashbrown, and sausage (this was tasty!). It was really affordable but I probably wont try again in the future.

The best little short order local diner. Its hard to find little gems like this; good, large portions at a cheap price. There is a wait time for seating and food and the coffee is slightly burned, but the service and local flavor cant be beat!

Always enjoy it here at the old school diner. Great food, great prices, and the people who work here always stay upbeat. There is usually a little wait on the weekends around brunch hours so plan ahead, but its worth it.

A chaotic, disorganized wonderland. You may have to wait. You may have to share a table with a stranger. But its all part of the experience. If you want inexpensive delicious food this is where you need to be.

Nice, quiet, cozy little place open early. Its usually filled with older folks, regulars. They have the BEST Monte Cristo Ive had yet! Definitely come here for breakfast if youre in the area.

Quick friendly service, great food and great prices. Passed through here driving across country trying to visit local favorites along the way. This was the perfect spot for local color.

A Columbus classic. Cheap and delicious diner fare. You can get away with a five dollar meal that will leave you full through lunch. The staff makes it feel like a real family affair.

Very nice staff, Place is small but cozy. Get there early on a Sunday or youll wait forever, weekdays arent super bad but normally you may wait for 5 minutes or so but its worth it.

Excellent small town and small diner feel. Straight out of a scene from 1990s in my opinion. Will definitely return. Wish we had more in C-Bus like this. The prices are refreshing

This neighborhood staple is just perfect for a big meal, low budget, super friendly staff and just all around awesomeness. We go here whenever we can and introduce it to visitors.

It doesnt look like much from the outside, but this is an amazing breakfast spot! I would definitely recommend if youve never been, the food was fantastic and fairly priced.

This is not a millennial coffee shop. The coffee is Maxwell. What makes this place incredible is amazing food at low prices. We fed a family of 4 for $21. I was stuffed!!

Easily the best Diner in Columbus. Nothing bad on the menu, enormous portions, dirt cheap, great service. Prepare to wait for a table unless you get there early.
